-a young man moves into town, and visits the creek. he explains he used to live nearby and is visiting for nostalgia.

-he meets kelsey, sees a lot of himself in her. he shows her an old trove of wooden weapons. both improvised and 'forged' like baseball bats wooden swords. croquet mallets, and slingshots

-the young man recounts the great civil war of the creek

-the story itself happens. a bunch of personal reports of major battles around the creek. from where the war started , to it's conclusion

-the young man reveals what ended the war. A stink bomb so remarkably pungent it landed some kids in the hospital

-at the end of his story. he gives kelsey his old war weapon, a wooden sword that is way too big for her to use.

-after this, he introduces his kid to the creek dwellers.

-something happens to cause another civil war of the creek
