  1. I broadly agree with the spirit, if not the letter, of this proposal. Some reasons:
  2.
  3. * Parallelism is something that matters a lot on this wiki. When the [[not we]] get used to finding information about a specific incarnation of the Doctor on a page specially made for that incarnation, such as [[Romana I]], [[Fourth Doctor]], or [[the Eleven]], they will ''of course'' try to do the same for [[Missy]] or [[the Master (Doctor Who)]], and we fail in our duties as a wiki by making our Master pages inaccessible!
  4.
  5. * It's even worse for editors than it is for readers. Currently, when I try to edit [[The Master]], my browser lags. It doesn't matter what browser I'm using or what computer I'm on, the whole thing is completely unworkable unless I ctrl+A ctrl+C the whole thing into Notepad/Pastebin first. This is a problem!
  6.
  7. * Per these reasons, and as dictated in [[Thread:264489]], pages like [[The Master]] have to be made shorter, one way or the other. One way to fix this is painful culling of information; the other way is splitting the page up into separate, smaller pages. Thankfully, we already have ample precedent for creating pages for individual incarnations of Time Lords. Let's use it!
  8.
  9. * Multi-Master stories are a mess. As it stands, one paragraph about [[the Battle of the Bands Beyond the Stars]] is more or less copy-pasted ''five times'' on the page.
  10.
  11. * There have been several incarnations of the Master which aren't currently counted as official incarnations for various reasons. While [[User:Scrooge MacDuck|]] was right that [[the War Chief]] is best left to its own thread, [[T:NPOV]] mandates that we leave the possibility open that (eg) the [[Man with the Rosette]] is an incarnation of the Master, but covering him on a different page from all the "official" Master incarnations precludes any ambiguity or subtlety of interpretation!
  12.
  13. None of these factors were considered during [[Forum:The Master]] and [[Forum:The Master - 1 article]], and since then we have invented the marvelous system of dabbing based on appearances, so we can cover [[The Master (Doctor Who)]] etc without speculating as to which exact incarnation that was. I struggle to see a single good reason for us to ''not'' adopt this change, and given [[User:BananaClownMan]]'s rigorous Sandbox treatments of individual Master articles, I hope we can move forward with it quickly!
