- Jodah brought the wind up beneath him and righted himself, then plucked the mana from his memory and raised his hands skyward, spreading a thick wave of fog over the area, wrapping the shattered spires and skeletal buildings with a soft cotton blanket.
- Jodah flew toward Jaya, now hidden by the mist, but as he approached her position, the fog brightened and reddened in front of him. He realized what it was and surged upward just as a wall of flames roared through his fog, leaving a smoky haze in its wake. Several of the taller remaining buildings now burned like torches, and it rained ashes around him.
