Chapter 02: Making Everyone Happy With Delicious Food

☆ Magical Daisy

There was a burst of fanfare, and then the Magical Phone’s screen burst into a riot of multicolored light. Surprised, Genopsycho dropped her Magical Phone into the fountain pool. It hit the mermaid statue with a clattering sound, and then came to rest facing upwards. The light from the screen radiated, then gathered, finally resolving itself into an image. It was a spherical object, black on its right side and white on its left, with a pair of butterfly wings growing from one half of its body, and it floated lightly in the air. As the light illuminated the dancing particles of dust in the air, they could vaguely make out what was on the other side of the strange sphere.
开场小号一响起，魔法终端设备的画面立即散发出五彩缤纷的光芒，杰若疯子一时受到惊吓而失手掉下去的魔法终端设备落入喷水池里。撞上人鱼雕像后啪哒一声，正面朝上停住。画面上出现的光束扩散开来，然后聚集，最后成像。那是右半边黑色、左半边白色的左右对称球体，一边生出蝴蝶翅膀，轻飘飘地飘浮着。飞扬的砂尘在光线照射下漫舞的同时，球体的另一面也隐约可见。

It was a three-dimensional image.
这是立体影像。

“Dear Magical Girls, pleased to meet you and good evening! I am the mascot in charge of Magical Girl Raising Project--Fal ~pon!”
「各位魔法少女，初次见面，大家晚安！我是担任『魔法少女育成计画』的吉祥物——法尔蹦！」

The childish, high-pitched voice made her want to throw up for some reason, and Magical Daisy could not help but furrow her brows. However, Genopsycho was looking at her, @Nyannyan was looking at her, and Nokko-chan was also looking at her. Therefore, Magical Daisy could only try to suppress her nausea and address the stereoscopic projection which called itself Fal.
仿佛孩童般的高亢合成音，莫名地令人产生一股作喔感，让魔女黛西不禁皱眉。然而，杰若疯子望着这里、@娘娘也望着这里、小原原也同样地望着这里。于是，魔女黛西只能拼命压抑住作呕的感觉，询问自称是法尔的立体影像。

“What does that mean? What on earth is going on?”
「这是什么意思？到底是怎么一回事？」

“The Magical Girl Raising Project is a social game which serves as both a training simulator for full-fledged Magical Girls and a selection mechanism for Magical Girl candidates ~pon. The experience gained in this virtual environment will be fed back to you in real life ~pon. All of you are the lucky few chosen to be playtesters after a rigorous random draw ~pon.
「所谓的魔法少女育成计画，兼具现役魔法少女的模拟训练与储备魔法少女的挑选机制，乃是新世代社交网路游戏蹦。在虚拟空间中累积的经验将会回馈到现实生活之中蹦。你们几位正是经过严格公正的抽签过程，万中选一的测试玩家蹦。」

“Virtual environment? You mean this isn’t the real world?”
「虚拟空间？这里不是现实世界吗？」

“Exactly ~pon! The Magical Trace System allows for control which feels just like real life, while its realistic, incredibly beautiful graphics could be mistaken for reality; these are the two big selling points of the Magical Girl Raising Project ~pon!”
「就是这么一回事！透过魔法同步追踪系统带来与现实毫无差异性的操作感觉，以及写实到令人误以为真的超美丽视觉效果，这两项就是魔法少女育成计画的最大卖点蹦！」

“Is this really a game?”
「这个真的是游戏吗？」

“Of course ~pon, I wouldn’t lie ~pon.”
「真的蹦，我才不会说谎蹦。」

“It’s not Magic?”
「不是魔法吗？」

“It’s a game made with Magic ~pon.”
「是用魔法制作而成的游戏蹦。」

Magical Daisy put on a show of being calm, but she was shocked deep inside. While this was supposed to be a game, it felt thoroughly realistic, the bizarre occurrences aside. The smell of dust and mildew in the abandoned buildings, the scorching rays of the sun, the sensation when she hit the Skeletons, and even the firmness of the ground she now stood upon; all of them clearly indicated that this was reality. However, the Skeletons which emerged from the ground, the boundless wilderness, the buildings which all seemed to be listing in the same direction and which seemed to be evenly spaced apart; all of them were things which could only occur in a game.
魔女黛西表面故作镇定，但内心大为震惊。虽然说是游戏，但除了异常事态之外,处处充满现实感。废弃大楼的灰尘异味与霉味、毒辣的阳光、痛殴骸骨时的触感、现在站着的地面传来的坚实感，一切的一切都明白指出这是现实。然而，从地面浮现骸骨、无边无际的荒野、几乎朝同一方向倒塌的废弃大楼等间隔耸立的事实，的确只有游戏里才会发生。

“I’ve never heard about this before! Plus, nobody ever asked for my consent! Are you quite done messing around, you sex beast?”
(TL Note: In MG works, MGs are often accompanied by mascots who do everything with them, from bathing, sleeping, living, etc, hence the nickname “sex beast.”)
「我根本没听过这种事！而且，也完全没询问过我的参加意愿！你这只淫兽到底是闹够了没有！」（注）魔法少女系列作品中，魔法少女的身边通常都会有吉祥物，举凡洗澡、睡觉等一切生活作息皆在一起，因而别称淫兽。如魔法少女小圆——丘比。

“All this is quite troublesome for me…”
「擅自这么做让人很困扰耶……」

Nokko-chan and Genopsycho approached the Magical Phone. That said, the entity they were approaching was just a three-dimensional image, so they could not grab it by the chest. More to the point, it had no chest.
小原原与杰若疯子逼近魔法终端设备。话虽如此，毕竟对方只是个立体影像，所以没办法一把揪起它的胸口。更何况，它根本没有胸口。

That Genopsycho and Nokko-chan were unhappy about this was only to be expected. They had been dragged here without their consent, forced to fight Skeletons, and now they had been ordered to come to the town; how could they not have complaints about that?”
杰若疯子与小原原会感到不满也无可厚非。完全没问过自己便被带来这里，还被逼着与骸骨战斗，现在又被命令来城镇，怎么可能毫无怨言。

“Alright, alright, please calm down and listen to me ~pon.”
「好啦好啦，请你们冷静听我说明蹦。」

In the face of this intimidation, the self-proclaimed mascot remained calm. There was no change in its expression, or perhaps it would be better to say it had no expression to begin with. Magical Daisy had once had a mascot companion called Palette. It was a fairy who loved to chatter and who made all kinds of faces. It would seem there was tremendous variation even among mascots.
自称为吉祥物的角色即使面对胁迫，态度依然镇定。只见它的表情毫无一丝变化，应该是说它根本没有表情。魔女黛西过去曾经有个吉祥物好伙伴「巴雷特」。它是只爱吱吱喳喳而且表情多变的小小妖精。看来同样身为吉祥物，也会有极大的差异性。

“TIme is compressed here, so it will not cause problems in real life. Please do not be worried about problems in the future, because the next three days of the game will pass in an instant in reality ~pon. Also, as you should know by now, the Magic you can use in real life can also be used normally in the game ~pon. In addition, the game is not dangerous at all ~pon. There are no resurrection spells, extra lives, or save points, so once you get a game over, the game ends for you, but it will not do any damage to you in real life, so please be at ease, for you will be safe.”
「这里的时间有经过压缩，因此不会对现实生活造成任何影响。希望你们别操心以后的问题，接下来连续三天就安心地参加游戏，何况在现实世界里也只不过是一瞬间的事情蹦。还有各位应该都已经知道了，在现实生活中能使用的『魔法』，也能在游戏中正常使用蹦。而且，游戏没有任何危险性蹦。游戏里并没有复活的咒语、生命值、存档点，所以只要GAMEOVER游戏便宣告结束，不过并不会对现实中的你们造成任何损害，安心又安全蹦！」

“I have an idea of what’s going on, but why did you force us to participate without saying anything?”
「我明白事情的来龙去脉了，但是为什么二话不说就强制我们参加呢？」

“Well~ I guess everyone should know, but the Land of Magic is just absurd like that ~pon. Or rather, it’s not so much that the Land of Magic is absurd, but that magic itself is a thing that does not conform to logic in any way. This is just a guess on my part, but given that they did not obtain your consent, the invitation to participate was itself a trigger or key of some sort ~pon.”
「呵〜我想各位应该也很清楚，『魔法王国』就是这么不合乎逻辑的地方蹦。与其说『魔法王国』不合乎逻辑，倒不如说魔法本身就是个超级不符合逻辑的聚集物。这纯粹只是我的猜测，也许在未经大家应允的状况下，请各位参加游戏才是触发的关键之类蹦。」

There was no telling if Fal understood Magical Daisy’s question, but it continued:
不晓得法尔到底是否明白魔女黛西的疑问，只见它接着说：

“After all, this is an official test on the Land of Magic’s part so there’s no need to worry ~pon. Also, the clear bonus is very lavish, and even the participation money is quite surprising ~pon. Besides, if we can use your beta testing to pick out the problems in the game, I’m sure your kouhais will be very grateful to you ~pon! Also, since this is a secret game, you’re forbidden to mention this to anyone other than your fellow players… although, since you’re all Magical Girls, I’m sure keeping secrets is second nature to you and easy as pie. It’s as simple as that ~pon. And so, are you willing to take part ~pon? Everyone else has already started the game ~pon.”
「毕竟这一切都是『魔法王国』的官方测试，所以你们根本不需要担心蹦。而且，破关的奖赏超级豪华，就连参加奖都相当惊人蹦。更何况，如果能透过各位的试玩挑出问题点，对之后使用的晚辈而言，想必是一件令人感激至极的事情蹦！还有，这个游戏基本上是机密游戏，除了玩家之外，绝对禁止向任何人提起本游戏……不过，各位既然都身为魔法少女，想必保守秘密也只是家常便饭，小事一桩顾。就是这样，各位是否愿意参加蹦？其他人都已经开始进行游戏了蹦。」

Fal looked at Magical Daisy, Genopsycho, @Nyannyan and Nokko-chan, and Nokko-chan looked at Magical Daisy. As she looked at the girl, Magical Daisy could not help but think, I have to protect her.
法尔看着魔女黛西，杰若疯子、@娘娘也看着魔女黛西，小原原也看着魔女黛西。一看到这孩子，魔女黛西就不禁心想，必须好好守护她才行。

☆ Pechika

Before she had figured out what was going on, she had already agreed to join the game.
在尚未搞清楚状况的情况下，就糊里糊涂地参加游戏了。

In Pechika’s case, there was a mountain of things she wanted to do over raising up her kouhais or training herself, and she did not accept the fact that she had been roped into the game. While she wanted to bow and say, “I’m sorry, I don’t want to take part, the other three were different.
以蓓蒂卡的立场而言，比起培育晚辈或是锻炼自我之类的事情，她想做的事堆积得有如小山一般高，而且她并不认同自己被强拉进游戏的经过。虽然她想低下头说出「抱歉，我不参加」，但其他三人完全不是这么一回事。

“I am not a fan of this kind of forceful recruitment, but it is the doing of the Land of Magic, so there is nothing to be done about it. Besides, it looks quite interesting, so I will go along with it.”
「虽然我看不惯这种强势做法，不过毕竟是『魔法王国』的所作所为，这也是无可奈何。而且似乎满有趣的，那我就答应了吧。」

“If the payout is real, then that’d be great~!”
「如果这个报酬是真的，那就太棒〜了！」

“Mm.”
「嗯。」

“Indeed, it is quite a staggering sum. However, it does not match the Land of Magic’s way of doing things.”
「的确是相当惊人的报酬，不过，不太符合『魔法王国』的作风耶。」

“But it’s awesome~! With ten billion in cash money, you could lead a relaxed and comfy Magical Girl life~!”
「但是，很棒〜呀！只要拥有一百亿圆，接下来的人生就能过着悠然自得的魔法少女生活〜了！」

“What a small-minded plan for life.”
「还真是小鼻子小眼睛的人生蓝图呀。」

The mood in the air did not permit Pechika to speak yet. Pechika was also an unassuming, pessimistic middle-school girl, so she was used to observing others. She went “ahaha” while smiling vaguely and nodding.
现场的气氛俨然不允许蓓蒂卡一人不参加。蓓蒂卡也不外乎是外表不起眼且想法消极的国中女生，因此很擅长察颜观色。她露出暧昧的笑容，哈哈地笑着点头。

“After this, I’d like you to form a party ~pon. A party can have a maximum of four people registered ~pon. After partying up, you can use items and do many other things ~pon. Once you install the map application, you can display the location of each team member, and you only need one area passage item per party ~pon.
「接下来，要请你们组成队伍蹦。一队最多可以登记四名队员蹦。组成队伍的话，除了可以使用道具之外，还有许多好康的事情蹦。只要安装地图应用软体，就能显示各队员的所在地，或是通行时使用的道具也是一个队伍一个就行了蹦。」

The four of them looked at each other, looking and being looked at in turn, and in the end everyone’s gaze rested on Pechika. She had a rough idea of what was in their minds. They ought to be thinking, I don’t want to group up with this cowardly, weak-looking, person who’s likely to be completely useless.
四个人的视线交错，大家你看我我看你的，最后全部停伫在蓓蒂卡的身上。隐隐约约能想象得到众人在想什么。大家应该是在心里暗想，实在不愿意与这种看起来既胆小又懦弱，甚至完全派不上用场的人组队吧。

“If you don’t mind, could you tell us about your Magic?”
「方便的话，可以请教一下你的魔法吗？」

“Ahhh, I’d like to know too~”
「啊啊，我也很好奇这一点〜」

They were not just thinking it, they had actually said it.
不只是在心里暗想，还实际说出口了。

“Ah, I can make delicious food… in about five minutes…”
「啊，我能制作出美味的料理……只要花五分钟的时间……」

The three people apart from Pechika looked at each other again. As she sensed what their eyes were saying, an ache stabbed at Pechika’s chest. What’ll we do with her? She’s clearly useless, so why don’t we dump her here? Looks like that went back and forth between them, completely ignoring Pechika’s existence.
除了蓓蒂卡之外的三人视线再度交错。察觉到众人眼神交流的涵义，蓓蒂卡的胸口不禁隐隐刺痛。这样子该拿这家伙怎么办啊？很明显派不上用场，把她一个人丢在这里就好了吧？诸如此类的思绪完全无视于蓓蒂卡的存在，来回穿梭。

“Ahhh… You can change party members in the middle of the game ~pon. You can add, remove or exchange party members ~pon.”
「唉……队伍成员可以在游戏中途进行变更蹦。能够根据情况加入队员或是淘汰队员、交换队员蹦。」

The three of them locked eyes, and Clantail nodded. They would form a party of four including Pechika, but Pechika could clearly tell what the other three were thinking, and it annoyed her.
三人对上视线，古兰迪儿点了点头。包括蓓蒂卡在内的四人组成一队，但是另外三人的心思昭然若揭，蓓蒂卡只感觉心情烦躁。

两小时后。

In the end, her status in the party was like miso dregs. She was simply there to make up the numbers and would be promptly ejected once another useful Magical Girl came along. Even now, all she could do was watch the other three as they took out the Skeletons in an energetic fashion. Neither Pechika’s Magic of making delicious food or her cowardly personality was suited to combat.
结果，她所受到的待遇不下于毫无用处的味噌浮滓。她是只要一遇到其他派得上用场的魔法少女，就会被赶出去的临时充数的人头。就连现在也只能双手抱膝，眺望着正活力充沛地对付骸骨的三人。不管是制作美味料理的魔法或是蓓蒂卡胆小的个性，都不适合用来战斗。

The shrine maiden Magical Girl was called Miyokata Nonako. Be it her taijitu hairclips, her deeply-slit crimson hakama, or her strangely appropriate name, they all suited the shrine maiden motif. However, her personality was nowhere near Japanese, which seemed strange.
巫女风格的魔法少女名叫御世方那子。无论是太极图案的发夹，或是有着大大垂袖的深红色和服裤裙，还有莫名符合那身打扮的名字，皆毫不掩饰来自于巫女的概念。然而，她本人的性格却与纯日式的外貌相反，感觉很奇怪。

“A Magical Girl is Cool! Cute! Strong! It’s common knowledge in my country~!”
「魔法少女isCool!Cute!Strong!在我的国家可是常〜识！」

Given those words of hers, and the intonation that no native Japanese would have, she must be a foreigner. After all, some foreigners might know more about Japan than the Japanese themselves, surprisingly enough.
从她说的这句话，以及土生土长的日本人绝对不会有的腔调看来,她应该是外国人吧。毕竟外国人有可能会比日本人还更具日本风情。

While she proudly proclaimed that she could use “animal taming” Magic, it was limited to living beings, so she could not make the Skeletons her bosom buddies and had to focus on kicking and punching them instead.
虽然她一脸骄傲地说能使用「驯服动物」的魔法，但仅限定于生物，因此无法与骸骨成为相亲相爱的好朋友,只好专心地猛踢猛打。

The doll Magical Girl was called Rionetta. She was not a doll-like Magical Girl, but a Magical Girl who looked like an actual doll.
人偶魔法少女叫做莉欧妮塔。她是人偶风格的魔法少女，但不是仿佛人偶般的魔法少女，而是真真切切拥有人偶外形的魔法少女。

Her long ribbons danced through the air, the hem of her skirt played in the wind, her bonnet was ruffled by the breeze, and she looked just like a graceful Lolita warrior as she prepared for battle. However, a closer look would reveal that her movements, her joints, her expression and so on were all artificial.
任由长长的蝴蝶结绑带飞舞、裙襬飘飘、绑带蕾丝软帽随风飘逸，俨然充满着华丽迎战的萝莉塔战士风情，然而仔细观察的话，便能发现她的动作、关节、表情等一切都是人工打造出来的。

She did not seem to get along with Miyokata Nonako, and they frequently squabbled. The fact was that she was classy, but had a venomous tongue, and she often criticized and mocked others. In other words, she was the type Pechika had trouble dealing with.
她似乎与御世方那子的感情不太和睦，口角频繁。基本上，她还算有气质，但嘴巴很坏，时常刁难与讽刺别人。也是蓓蒂卡不擅于应付的类型。

Her Magic was “to control puppets”, but there were no puppets here, so had to engage in melee combat much like Miyokata Nonako. Her ball joints allowed her to attack from angles impossible for a human being and attack her opponents through their blind spots… although speaking of which, nobody knew where a Skeleton’s blind spots were.
她使用的魔法是「操纵人偶」,但这里并没有人偶，因此只能与御世方那子相同，自始至终都是近身肉搏战。球体关节所使用的战斗方法，是朝人类不可能办得到的角度攻击，并从死角刨挖对手……话说回来，也没人知道骸骨的死角在哪。

The centaur Magical Girl was called Clantail. In truth, she was not a centaur; to be precise, her lower body could become any beast other than a human. She changed into a crocodile to slap the Skeletons with her tail, then changed into a horse to kick the Skeletons with her hooves, and she took the form of the most suitable animal for her present circumstances. Under normal circumstances, she took the form of a pony or a deer or some other small four-legged creature, and she seemed gentler than Pechika’s first impression of her.
那个半人马的魔法少女是古兰迪儿。其实她并不是半人马，正确说起来是下半身为人类以外的野兽才对。一下子变成鳄鱼,用尾巴拍打骸骨；一下子又变成马，用马蹄踩踏骸骨，能根据当时情况挑选出最适合的动物进行变身。平常都是维持着小马或是小鹿之类，体型较娇小的四足动物，因此初次见面时的印象比她平日给人的感觉还温柔几分。

They only met after entering the game, so they were not close, but she was the leader among the three of them. Every time Miyokata Nonako and Rionetta started arguing, she would step in and defuse the situation, and whenever Pechika saw this, she thought, “that must be pretty hard”. It seemed even worse because she rarely spoke, and did not complain much.
她们应该是在进入游戏后才认识的,交情不深，不过她在三人组里是处于领导者的地位。每当御世方那子与莉欧妮塔吵起来的时候，她就会居中调解，蓓蒂卡每每看到都会不禁暗自心想「还真是辛苦呀」。因为她很少发言，也不常发牢骚，所以看起来更加辛苦。

The three of them kept a safe distance to avoid getting in each others’ way, pulverizing the Skeletons one after the other. She watched their muscles in lively motion, observed their flowing hair, and caught fleeting glimpses of ivory skin through the folds of their costumes as they somersaulted. It felt surreal, like they would vanish if she touched them lightly, but even so, they were so sensual that she could not help wanting to reach out anyway. Just watching them in action made Pechika want to gasp in awe. Their facial features used parts from different systems, and each of them was beautifully arranged.
三个人保持在不妨碍彼此的安全距离下,一个接着一个地将骸骨击碎。那充满跃动感的肌肉、飞扬的秀发、在翻身作战时隐约可见的白皙肌肤。只要轻轻触碰似乎就会消失的梦幻感，即使如此仍兼具令人忍不住想伸手触碰的感官刺激，光是看着她们就会让蓓蒂卡不禁发出赞叹。她们的五官也仿佛来自不同系统的零件，个个配置得完美无比。

Pechika tightened the arms which were hugging her knees.
蓓蒂卡加深了双手抱住膝盖的力道。

What Pechika most desired was the beautiful looks of a Magical Girl. She always thought that as long as she became a pretty and cute girl, the world would change as well, and she could bring bento to Ninomiya-kun.
蓓蒂卡最渴望的便是魔法少女的美貌。她一直认为只要成为漂亮又可爱的女生，世界也会跟着转变，也能够带便当去慰劳二宫同学。

In truth, after becoming a Magical Girl, Chika had changed. In the past, she had always been of a pessimistic bent, but after becoming Pechika, she had become more positive even in her untransformed state, to say nothing of when she was actually transformed. However, that positivity came from feeling superior over the fact that she was very pretty and very special.
事实上，成为魔法少女之后，智香整个人的确也跟着改变。以前的她凡事都会先往消极的方向想，但成为蓓蒂卡之后，变身时当然不必说，就连平常没有变身的时候，她也变得积极许多。不过，那份积极来自于她觉得自己很美、很特别的优越感。

Right here, right now, Chika was only one of several Magical Girls. She was only a girl with middling looks. Now that her sense of superiority had evaporated, her positivity had gone with it. Nothing had changed at all for the girl called Chika.
此时此刻，智香只不过是魔法少女的其中一人。只是一个容貌中等的女生而已。优越感已然消失的如今，她的积极也丝毫不剩。名为智香的少女，本质上根本没有任何改变。

The present Pechika had reverted to the middle-schooler who waited quietly in the corner of the classroom, with nothing to rely on apart from herself, whom she had no confidence in. She could not fight, and she did not even dare to refuse to play the game. She was neither here nor there, merely watching others fight.
现在的蓓蒂卡变回原本那个只会静静地待在教室一隅的国中生，没有任何可以依靠的事物，徒留下毫无自信的自己。她没办法参与战斗，甚至不敢拒绝参加游戏，只能站在不上不下的立场，眺望战场。

During this melancholy period, as she was castigated by her self-loathing for her powerlessness, the battle ended. Dozens of Skeletons had been destroyed, and white debris was scattered everywhere.
就在她因为自我厌恶而受到无力感苛责、难受得闷闷不乐的期间，战斗结束了。数十具以上的骸骨全部遭到破坏，化为白色的残骸散落四处。

“ I knew there’d be a lot of Skeletons nearby, looks like my decision was correct~”
「我就知道这附近会出现许〜多骸骨，看来我的判断是正确〜的。」

“Are you saying this was entirely due to your own efforts?”
「你是想说这都是你的功劳吗？」

“Hahahaha, I’m sure it wasn’t the effort of someone who didn’t think of it~”
「哈哈哈哈，我能确定这绝对不会是那个没想到的人的功〜劳。」

“How many Magical Candies do you have?”
「你们的魔法糖果数量有多少？」

Clantail interrupted the war of words with a single sentence. Nonako and Rionetta took out their Magical Phones to check.
辩论战因为古兰迪儿的一句话暂停，那子与莉欧妮塔各自拿出魔法终端设备进行确认。

“Seventeen~”
「十七〜」

“I have 15.”
「我有十五个。」

“28 here. How about you, Pechika?”
「我则是二十八个。蓓蒂卡你呢？」

Pechika cringed as she was suddenly addressed and everyone turned to look at her. Her hand nearly slipped, but in the end, she managed to take out her Magical Phone and called up the status display screen.
突然被问到话，于是全部的人都望向这边，令蓓蒂卡不禁缩了缩身子。虽然差一点手滑，不过她最终还是成功地拿出魔法终端设备，叫出显示状态的画面。

“Still 0…”
「还是零个……」

The amount of Magical Candy was still 0, without any change.
魔法糖果的数量仍然显示零，没有任何变化。

“What’s up with that, I wonder~”
「这到底是怎么回〜事！」

“The explanation that we receive Magical Candy from defeating monsters should not be wrong… as you can see, everyone gained different amounts. However, it would seem that not everyone receives the same amounts just because we are in the same party.”

The bottom of the status display showed the names of three of the party members; Clantail, Miyokata Nonako and Rionetta.
状态画面最下方显示着三位小队成员的名字，有古兰迪儿、御世方那子、莉欧妮塔。

Clantail thought for a while.
古兰迪儿沉思了好一会儿……

“The one who deals the finishing blow gets it, right?”
「应该是给予最后一击的人才能得到吧？」

“Ahh, that does seem to be the case~”
「啊啊，从数字看起来的确很像是这样〜子。」

“In other words, you only get to eat if you work.”
「也就是说没有工作的人就没资格吃饭呀。」

Rionetta looked at Pechika, who shrank away once more.
莉欧妮塔看向蓓蒂卡，于是她又瑟缩了一下。

Clantail rested her hand under her chin, and after some thinking, she said:
古兰迪儿则是将手抵在下巴，进一步思考之后，这么说：

“The Magical Phones have a transfer ability. Let’s reallocate our Magical Candies after combat.”
「魔法终端设备有所谓的让渡功能。战斗后，我们再重新分配魔法糖果吧。」

“Why? It only makes sense that people who work hard get more, is that wrong? Work is worthwhile. Marxist principles are so last century.”
「为什么？辛苦工作的人才能拿得多，这样才合理吧！工作才更有意义。马克思主义是上个世纪才流行的思想吧。」

“It’s fine if all we do is mop up mooks like this. But when there are fewer enemies, falling into confusion as we argue over who gets to take out the enemy does no good to anyone.”
「如果之后都跟这次一样，都在扫除小喽萝就算了。但是，当敌人少的时候，为了争相解决敌人而自乱阵脚的话，对任何人都没有好处。」

Rionetta furrowed her brows. Pechika understood Clantail’s reasoning as well. When a powerful enemy appeared in an RPG, they would often appear singly or in small groups. In these circumstances, arguing about who would get the last hit meant that the enemy before them would not be the only troublesome foe.
莉欧妮塔皱眉。蓓蒂卡也明白古兰迪儿的理由。在RPG里出现巨大的强敌时，数量通常只会是单独一只不然就是少数。如果在面临这种情况的时候，大家还为了最后一击纷争不断，恐怕棘手的就不会只有面对强敌了。

“As long as the greedy pigs can rein themselves in~”
「只要贪心鬼自制一下就好了。」

“Be quiet, you.”
「你给我闭嘴！」

“Ah… I… I was just watching from the side…”
「那个……我……因为我只在一边看而已……」

“If you really think that, then all you have to do is join the fight next time.”
「你真的这么想的话，下次加入战斗就行了。」

As she heard Clantail speak, Pechika cringed again. She wanted nothing more than to disappear.
听到古兰迪儿的话，蓓蒂卡又再度缩了缩身子。她只想干脆消失算了。

In any event, the game time was three days, but it would only be a short time logged in while in the real world. After that, they would have to wait for three days in the real world to log in again, and it would repeat until someone cleared the game, according to Fal. In other words, this situation would be going on for another three days. She could not help but feel an ache in her belly.
总之，游戏的时间是三天，在现实世界里也只是短时间登入游戏的状态。之后，必须在现实世界待三天再重新登入游戏，就这样一直重复到有人破关为止，法尔是这么说的。换句话说，这种状况至少还得持续三天。她的胃不禁感到一阵一阵的刺痛。

“Rionetta, is that acceptable?”
「莉欧妮塔，这样可以吗？」

Rionetta did not look pleased at all, but she nodded in the end.
虽然莉欧妮塔一脸心不甘情不愿的模样，终究还是点头了。

“Honestly, how are we going to save up Candies like this? We found a hunting ground after so long, but it ended up like this in the end.”
「真是的，这样子怎么存魔法糖果啊！好不容易找到了狩猎场，结果却是这样。」

Hunting ground--an unfamiliar term. It probably referred to a place where monsters lurked.
狩猎场——真是陌生的词汇。想必是在指怪物出没的地点吧。

There was a biii, and a black and white spheroid appeared above Rionetta’s Magical Phone. She had probably pressed the help button.
哔的一声电子音响起，莉欧妮塔的魔法终端设备浮出半黑半白的球体。想必是按了求助键。

“Did something happen ~pon?”
「有什么事情端？」

“Did we kill all the monsters? Finding a new hunting ground will be troublesome.”
「怪物已经被我们打光了吗？还要找新的狩猎场很麻烦耶。」

“When the morning comes, the monsters will appear again ~pon.”
「早上来临时，怪物就会涌现出来的蹦。」

“Ah, I see. Then, another question. How many Candies do we need to level up? SInce this is an RPG, there ought to be some displayable data, right?”
「哎呀，是这样子的啊。那我再问一个问题。必须存到多少颗糖果才能晋级下一关呢？既然是RPG的话，应该会有显示的数据可以看吧？」

“Level up?”
「晋级？」

Fal’s expression remained unchanged, but one could tell from its tone. It would seem it had been surprised by Rionetta’s question.
虽然法尔的表情仍然毫无变化，但是从音调便能明白它在想什么。看来它似乎很意外莉欧妮塔会问这种问题。

“This game does not feature level-ups ~pon.”
「这个游戏并不会晋级。」

“What?”
「什么？」

“Magical Candies are used in shops, and they are equivalent to currency in this world. Of course, they might be necessary in other places, but currently they are used in the shops ~pon. Oh yes, real-money trades are strictly forbidden ~pon.”
「魔法糖果是在商店里使用的道具，等同于这个世界的货币。当然，除了商店之外，也许会有其他的必要用途也不一定，但是目前就是使用于商店的道具蹦。对了对了，严格禁止在现实中交易虚拟货币蹦。」

“Where are we going to find a shop here…”

“Eh? There should be one in town, didn’t you notice ~pon?”

Pechika, Nonako, Rionetta and Clantail looked at each other.
只见蓓蒂卡、那子、莉欧妮塔与古兰迪儿，四个人面面相觑。

“It sells a lot of very useful items, so I hope you’ll make good use of it ~pon. That’s right, the grasslands area was just unlocked ~pon. If you don’t mind, I hope you’ll make your way there ~pon.”
「里面贩售许多非常方便的道具，希望大家多多利用蹦。对了，草原区刚才已经开放了蹦。如果不嫌弃的话，还请各位移驾去那里蹦。」

“Area unlock? What is that all about?”
「开放区域？这是怎么一回事？丄

“Another player completed the specified mission to unlock the gateway to a connecting area ~pon. Please do not worry, even players who did not complete the mission can go through ~pon. However, finishing the task awards you a payout, so please focus on clearing--”
「因为其他玩家完成了指定任务，所以打开了连接别的区域的门蹦。请你们放心，即使不是达到任务的玩家，也还是能进行移动的蹦。但是，完成指定任务会得到报酬，所以请各位务必要以达成任务为目……」

Fal was interrupted halfway through his speech when Rionetta cancelled the help request.
法尔的话只说到一半就遭到打断，莉欧妮塔解除了求助键。

Another player had gotten ahead of them. In comparison, they did not even know there was a shop in town, or that Magical Candies could be used in shops. The unmotivated Pechika aside, the other three looked quite worried.
被其他玩家捷足先登了。相较之下，这边却连城镇上有商店，还有魔法糖果是用在商店里的货币的消息都没掌握到。先不论毫无干劲的蓓蒂卡，其他三人的表情看起来相当焦急。

“In any case, let’s head back to the town. After we’ve verified the location of the shop, we’ll head to the grasslands.”
「总而言之，先回城镇去吧。等我们确定商店的所在位置之后，再前往草原。」

Everyone nodded at Clantail’s words.
听到古兰迪儿的话，全部队员纷纷点头。

☆ Shadowgale

The black nurse… Shadowgale twirled the wrench in her right hand and the scissors in her left, neatly slotting them back into their holsters on her belt. The fact that she could still perform such a Magical Girl-like action under these bizarre conditions drew a wry grin from her. She reached out to touch her forehead, seeking to wipe her sweat away, but there was none.
黑色护士……暗影叶尔旋转着右手的扳手与左手的剪刀，俐落地收回腰间的皮套。没想到在如此异常的状态中，还能采取符合魔法少女身分的行动，令她不禁对自己露出苦笑。伸手碰触额头想要拭去汗水，结果一滴汗也没有。

『The battle is over.』
『战斗结束了。』

Magical Girls had physical abilities which surpassed those of living creatures. Even someone like Shadowgale--who could not directly use her Magic in combat--was still strong enough to fight. That said, in the real world, there was probably no chance for her to use her Magical Girl’s physical prowess in battle. However, her legs now were not frozen in fear, and her body did not tremble. She was quite surprised by how calmly she could fight. That was because she was clearly aware that she had never had any fighting experience before. Perhaps it was because her opponents were monsters instead of humans that she found it easier to hack and smash them.
魔法少女拥有超越生物极限的身体机能。即使像暗影叶尔一样，无法将魔法直接使用于战斗上，却也具备足够的力量参与战斗。话虽如此，在现实世界里应该没有机会将魔法少女的体能用在战斗上吧。然而，现在她的脚却不会害怕到僵直不动，身体也没有任何颤抖的现象。对于自己能如此泰然自若地战斗，她感到相当惊讶。因为她再清楚不过了，自己从来没有战斗的经验。也许是在面对明显是异形怪物的非人类对手，才会比较容易下手痛殴与斩杀吧。

She was surrounded by a sea of red human bones, a field of sinister debris scattered in all directions.
她的周围尽是清一色红色的人骨，诡异的残骸四处散落。

“Skeletons are just Skeletons in the end… even changing color doesn’t make them much stronger. They’re not worthy to be the opponents of the superheroine Masked Wonder.”
「骸骨终究只是骸骨……就算颜色改变也没有变得多强。根本不是超级女英雄『玛丝克德•汪达』的对手。」

The masked Magical Girl raised her right arm, curling the left in front of her chest. Her legs were spread wide and she muttered to herself while striking her “victory pose”. While they had met her soon after the game had begun, until now, Shadowgale had not asked her what that was the meaning of that pose.
戴着面罩的魔法少女举起右手，左手在胸前弯起，双脚开得大大的，摆出「胜利姿势」如此喃喃自语。虽然在游戏开始没多久就认识了她，但直到如今暗影叶尔仍然没问那个「胜利姿势」有何意义。

“Are… are you alright?”
「请问……你没事吧？」

Shadowgale asked her worriedly. The stylishly posed Masked Wonder had a lump on her head. It was red and swollen and looked very painful.
暗影叶尔担忧的问。帅气地摆着姿势的玛丝克德汪达，头上肿了一个包。又红又肿，看起来很痛。

“Masked Wonder won’t be taken down by such a minor injury… though it does hurt a little.”
「玛丝克德汪达可不会因为这点程度的小伤受挫……不过有点痛就是了。」

“I didn’t see you get hit. Do you know why you got hurt?”
「我明明没有看到你遭受攻击。知道受伤的原因为何吗？」

There was no expression on the face of the girl on the wheelchair who was kindly asking after someone else’s injury. The way her arm and face were bandaged made people want to ask her what was wrong with her instead.
脸上完全不见任何担心的神情，还好意思问人家为什么会受伤的坐着轮椅的魔法少女，脸与手上都缠着绷带，反而让人想反问她到底是怎么一回事。

“I chucked a rock at one of the Skeletons, and then I got attacked. But it’s not like I got ambushed from behind~”
「我只是把石头砸向其中一具骸骨，结果就遭到攻击了。但也不像是被人从后面攻击就是了~」

“Perhaps they have some sort of special ability, then. While the monster manual sold in the grasslands shop is a little expensive, I will seriously consider if we need to buy one. With amounts like these, we ought to be able to buy one without having to travel too far.”
「也许它们有什么特殊的能力吧。虽然草原区的商店贩售的怪物图鉴有点贵，不过我会慎重考虑是否有购买的必要。有这些数量的话，应该不用走太远就能买到手了吧。」

Having said so, the Magical Girl in the wheelchair urged everyone to check their Magical Phones. Shadowgale confirmed that her amount of Magical Candies had changed to 56.
坐轮椅的魔法少女如此说完，便催促大家确认魔法终端设备。暗影叶尔确认了一下魔法糖果的数量，变成五十六颗。

“87?!”
「八十七？」

The masked Magical Girl, Masked Wonder, exclaimed in surprise. She had chosen the inefficient method of striking a victory pose after defeating each and every Skeleton, but she had not expected that she had defeated more of them than Shadowgale.
戴着面罩的魔法少女「玛丝克德汪达」发出惊呼。她战斗时是采取每打倒一具骸骨就摆一次胜利姿势的低效率策略，没想到打倒的数量比安影叶尔多。

“With amounts like that, we’ll be able to buy a lot of items in the shop.”
「有这些数量,就能在商店购买很多道具。」

“Awesome. There’s a huge difference between the Candies given by the white Skeletons and the Reds!”
「好棒喔。跟白色骸骨比起来，红色糖果的数量根本是天差地远的多！」

“And they aren’t much stronger either. As I thought, we should prioritize opening up new areas.”
也没有变得太过强大，果然应该以开放区域为第一优先。」

The wheelchair-bound Magical Girl Pfle seemed to be speaking for her own benefit. She nodded, and then:
坐轮椅的魔法少女「普芙蕾」仿佛是在说给自己听的一般，只见她点了点头后……

“Alright, get the map ready, we’ll be heading back to the grasslands town.”
「那么，淮备好地图，先回去草原区域的城镇。」

Pfle did not call out to the others, merely started up her wheelchair on her own. Shadowgale and Masked Wonder had to hurry after her.
也没有叫上大家，普芙蕾就迳自转动起轮椅。暗影叶尔与玛丝克德汪达只能急忙追上去。

Pfle had never listened to the opinions of others. She acted the same way she did when she was teamed up with Shadowgale in the real world. Everything she thought of was for the good of others, and naturally, she felt that others had to obey her. She was a self-centered person--arrogant and wilful.
普芙蕾从来不会听别人的意见。跟她在现实世界中，与暗影叶尔一起行动的时候一模一样。自己所想的事情都是为了别人好，因此她理所当然地认为别人都得服从她。她就是这么一个自我主义者——既傲慢又自作主张。

Hitokouji Kanoe had always been accompanied by Totoyama Mamori. That fact had not changed even after they had become Magical Girls. When Totoyama Mamori became the Magical Girl Shadowgale, and Hitokouji Kanoe had become the Magical Girl Pfle, Shadowgale still continued protecting Pfle from behind.
人小路庚江的身边总是有鱼山护的陪伴。这一点在她们成为魔法少女之后，也完全没有改变。在鱼山护成为魔法少女「暗影叶尔」，而人小路庚江成为魔法少女「普芙蕾」后，暗影叶尔仍然一直在普芙蕾的背后守护着她。

Mamori had sworn to do so, and thus whether or not Mamori respected, loved ore relied on Pfle was all irrelevant.
护以自己的名誉发誓，关于护尊敬、喜欢、依赖庚江等的一切事实都是无稽之谈。

She viewed trampling on others as a matter of course, sadistically harried the foes she had utterly defeated, and viewed everyone other than her own people as beasts, slaves, paramecia, closteria, and other inferior lifeforms. However, she considered her actions to be elegant, her personality to be gentle, that she ought to be loved by everyone and that she did receive everyone’s love.
将踩在别人身上视为理所当然、在把敌人打得落花流水时，病态地穷追猛打、除了自己身边的人，一律视为家畜或奴隶、草履虫、新月藻等的低贱之辈。但她却觉得自己举止优雅、个性温柔，应该受到众人喜爱，也真心认为自己受到众人的喜爱。

Shadowgale had always watched Kanoe from close by, and she had even grown tired of thinking, she’s really gone too far. Even so, Mamori had no choice but to stay by Kanoe’s side.
一直以来，暗影叶尔都在最近的地方看着庚江，甚至也早已厌倦在心里暗想「这家伙实在是太过分了吧」的念头。即使如此，护还是不得不待在庚江的身边。

Every generation of the Hitokouji Family had been wealthy. They accumulated wealth, they grew their money, and their assets snowballed until the present day, producing a monstrous set of family assets.
人小路家历代以来都是有钱人。累积财富，钱滚钱，资产如雪球般越滚越大一直延续到现代，
堆积出如怪物般的惊人家世。

Just the amount they spent on the rock garden in their courtyard was more than the lifetime income of the average salaryman. Their family estate was the size of a small town, so people called the place Hitokouji, and the bus and train stations were named “Before Hitokouji Manor”. A foolish child had once thrown a stone at Kanoe, and the very next day his entire household was packed off to a distant place.
光是用在庭园石头上的金额便超过一般上班族一辈子的年收入总和。宅邸腹地占约一整个小镇大，因此地名称为人小路，而车站与公车站也全都称为「人小路宅邸前」。曾经有个顽童对着庚江扔石头，事发隔日便举家搬迁至远方。

The Totoyamas, on the other hand, had served the Hitokoujis through the generations. Mamori had heard the origin of her name from her parents, and it made her understand that the reason for her existence was “to protect My Lady”. Therefore, Mamori had been following behind Kanoe as a vassal before she knew any better. If she was unwilling, she was scolded by the adults.
至于鱼山家，则代代侍奉着人小路家。护本人曾从双亲口中听说护这个名字的由来，同时也让护明白了自己存在的意义即为「守护大小姐」。因此，护在懂事之前，即以随从的身分立于庚江身后。如果不愿意的话，还会受到大人的责骂。

Mamori had always stood behind her, listening to everyone sing Kanoe’s praises. About 60% of them were simply flattering her to get in the Hitokouji’s good graces, while the other 40% was genuine praise.
护就这样一边站在她的身后，一边听着众人对庚江的歌功颂德。其中有六成的人想讨人小路欢心而胡乱拍马屁，极尽阿谀奉承之事，另外的四成则是正中红心的称赞。

Within her prestigious school for heiresses, Kanoe was invariably in the top class of achievement, be it in sports or academic performance. However, she never specialized in a single sport since she grew to dislike them easily. Her body was well proportioned, and her beautiful looks were such that eight out of ten of the people who walked by would turn around for a double take. From kindergarten, elementary school, middle school to high school, Mamori’s entire life revolved around Kanoe.
庚江在名媛千金学校里，无论是学业或是运动成绩都排名全国前几名。但是，因为容易产生厌倦感，所以从来不会只专注于一项运动；拥有匀称的身材，以及与她擦肩而过的人，十个人之中有八个火会转过头来的华丽容貌。护从幼稚园、国小、国中到高中，一切的中心都绕着庚江打转。

Of course, Mamori made a fuss and threw tantrums because of that. However, Mamori had been taught that “serving the Hitokouji” family was a natural thing, and after Mamori understood the truth of the situation, she could smile cynically at the existence of her parents and herself.
因此，护自然会闹别扭或是耍脾气。但是，护从小就被教育「侍奉人小路家」是理所当然的事情，在护明白人情世故后，便能对双亲或自己的存在一笑置之了。

After the two of them had become Magical Girls, the situation had not changed. Pfle had but to give an order and Shadowgale would go “yes yes yes” and obey completely.
情况在两人成为魔法少女后，无丝毫改变。只要普芙蕾一下达命令，暗影叶尔就会叹着气回应「好好好」并且服从到底。

When they had first been dragged into the game, the first order Pfle had given was “bandage me”. As a Magical Girl with a nurse motif, Shadowgale always had bandaged within her outfit.
刚被这个游戏牵连进来时，普芙蕾下的第一道命令即为「帮我缠上绷带」。服装打扮以护士为概念的暗影叶尔，衣服内随时备有绷带。

“There are two kinds of Magical Girls, those who can fight and the ones who cannot.”
「魔法少女分成两种，战斗型魔法少女与非战斗型魔法少女。」

Pfle had said this as she dressed herself up as someone who had been hurt, despite her lack of injury. Naturally, the wheelchair that was part of her outfit helped a lot with that.
明明不是伤患却打扮成伤患的普芙蕾如此说。不必多说，她的装扮主轴轮椅也帮了很大的忙。

“Magical Girls who can fight are suitable for rough work. It’s best to have people like that around you ourselves. After all, we both lack the talent for violence.”
「战斗型魔法少女适合做些粗活。为了以防万一，最好在身边放置这样的人。毕竟我们两个都欠缺使用暴力的才能。」

“But then why the bandages?”
「那又是为什么要缠上绷带呢？」

“Some of them possess the urge to protect the weak, so they will be more caring towards the injured, the ill, the young, the old and the pregnant.”
「因为她们拥有保护弱者的保护欲，会对伤患、病人、幼童、老人以及孕妇发挥爱心。」

Compared to Shadowgale, who was still confused from being attacked by Skeletons out of nowhere, Pfle had already figured out what was important. She said, the scenario of having to go to the town to obtain items after defeating monsters might be an RPG scenario. She had also used her Magical Phone to conduct all sorts of investigations on the buildings; perhaps she had picked up a hint from there.
比起莫名其妙遭到骸骨袭击，还处于摸不着头绪状态中的暗影叶尔，普芙蕾早在此时预测到需要的事物了。她说，想打倒怪物获得道具就得先前往城镇的行为模式，也许是RPG的游戏模式也不一定。也操作魔法终端设备，进入大楼进行许多调查，搞不好她就是从这些地方看出蛛丝马迹的吧。

Was this not a game? If this really was a game, should there not be other players as well? Id there were other players, they ought to be Magical Girls as well, right? And not all the other players should be competing with each other, no?
这不是游戏吗？如果是游戏的话，除了自己应该还会有其他玩家吧？如果有其他玩家，应该同样是魔法少女吧？其他玩家不一定是互相竞争的对手吧？

She was probably operating along that line of thought, which was why she had wrapped herself in bandages to make herself appear hurt. She was hoping that a noble Magical Girl, one who was suited for fighting”, would take the hook.
想必她就是根据这些想法，才把自己缠满绷带，塑造成伤患的形象吧。期待怀抱守护弱小的伟大情操的「战斗型魔法少女」会上勾。

All that was simply what Shadowgale had thought to herself after everything was over. Pfle was not nearly kind enough to explain her thoughts to others. Shadowgale had come to this conclusion after following Hitokouji Kanoe’s thought processes, she who did not feel the least bit sorry for abusing the kindness of others.
以上只是暗影叶尔在一切事情都结束后，才暗自想象的情节。普芙蕾可不是愿意仔细说明自己脑袋里在想什么的亲切人士。这些只是暗影叶尔分析利用别人善意也不会感到一丝一毫歉意的人小路庚江的思考逻辑，而推测出来的结果。

And then, somebody had taken the bait.
然后，有一个人上勾了。

Masked Wonder wore a tight-fitting costume and a purple cape, with a black domino mask which only revealed a pair of blue eyes. Her blonde hair gleamed in the sun, her outfit was the sort which one would only see in American comics, her voice was loud, her body was lushly curved, and the most important thing was the American-style way in which she made her entrance.
玛丝克德汪达穿着一袭紧身衣配上紫色斗篷，戴着只露出一双蓝色眼睛的黑色面罩，金发在太阳光下闪闪发光，只有美国漫画才会出现的装扮，加上大嗓门与凹凸有致的身材，而且最重要的便是那美国式的登场方式。

“I am a champion of justice who will never forgive those who are evil! Are you friend or foe?”
「我是绝不饶恕邪恶的正义化身！你到底是敌是友！」

That bright voice had come from the top of one of the buildings as Shadowgale pushed the wheelchair along under Pfle’s orders. Looking up, she saw someone jumping down from above. They bent their knees, throwing up a rolling cloud of dusk, and then the person raised their right arm, their left folded over their chest, and then they spread their legs wide open open before shouting loudly:
暗影叶尔在普芙蕾的命令下推着轮椅走的时候，从大楼上传来一道洪亮的声音。抬头望去，有人从天而降。弯曲膝盖、扬起滚滚尘土著地后，只见对方举起右手，左手在胸前弯起，双脚开得大大地呐喊着。

“I am Masked Wonder! The embodiment of strength and justice--a Magical Girl!”
「吾名乃玛丝克德汪达！力量与正义体现者——『魔法少女』！」

They encountered her through this self-introduction, and also because Pfle greeted her with a nonhchalant, “I am Pfle, and this is Shadowgale. Pleased to meet you, Masked Wonder.”
会发现她是在进行自我介绍，也是因为普芙蕾一脸若无其事地仿佛打招呼般对她说：「我是普芙蕾，这位是暗影叶尔。玛丝克德汪达，初次见面，你好。」

“You seem hurt, did the Skeletons do that.?”
「你好像受伤了，是骷髅干的好事吗？」

“Was that why you sought us out? Thank you for being so caring.”
「所以你才主动找我们说话吗？对我这么亲切，真的非常谢谢你。」

“No need to stand on ceremony. As a superheroine, it is only common sense for me to help those in trouble.”
「无需多礼。既然身为超级女英雄，帮助有困难的人是理所当然的事情。」

Now that Masked Wonder--who said that helping those in trouble was common sense--was willing to take on the role of their protector, Pfle had achieved her aim. Shadowgale mused than this world was one that ended up favoring the villain more.
说帮助有困难的人是理所当然的玛丝克德•汪达心甘情愿地担任护卫一职，普芙蕾立刻达到了她的目的。暗影叶尔暗忖，这个世界的运转反而对坏人有利。

After that, the three of them had formed a party when they reached the town. They cleared an event, unlocked the gate to a new area, and they arrived at the grasslands area.
在那之后，抵达城镇的三人组成队伍。完成事件任务、打开通往新区域的门，来到了新的「草原」区域。

The reason why they could quickly accomplish the unreasonable task of “walk from this end of the wilderness area to the other” was because of Pfle. Pfle’s Magic was to use a “magical wheelchair”. Under her control, it could move fast enough to generate a sonic boom, which greatly reduced the amount of time needed to complete the task which would otherwise require continuous walking. They had completed a journey of several hours in a mere 20 minutes.
能够迅速完成「只要从广阔的荒野区的这一头走到另一头」这种像是在找碴的任务，理由在于普芙蕾。普芙蕾的魔法是使用如同外观所见的「魔法轮椅」，轮椅在她的操控下能够用足以产生冲击波与爆音的高速奔驰，大幅缩短要人一直走个不停的事件任务所需时间，需要耗费数小时的路程，在短短十分钟之内就跑完了。

During this time, Shadowgale and Masked Wonder had been roaming the wilderness, earning Magical Candy.  Shadowgale had no idea what Masked Wonder thought as she watched the visibly injured Pfle fade into the distance, leaving wheel tracks in the ground and moving with the speed of a 100-yard dash. However, all she said was, “it’s good to be energetic”, so it would seem she was a good-hearted person.
其间，暗影叶尔与玛丝克德汪达则在荒野各处打转，赚取魔法糖果。只是不晓得玛丝克德汪达看到明明是伤患的普芙蕾却以百米冲刺的速度，在尘土上留下车轮痕迹、扬长而去的情景，心中做何感想。不过她只说了一句「活力充沛是一件好事」，看来是个善心人士。

☆ Magical Daisy

Magical Candy was the game’s currency, and they could obtain Magical Candies by defeating the enemy. In other words, Magical Candy gave Magical Girls a reason to go out and actively defeat monsters. All other things aside, the more Magical Candies one had, the better, because they would surely be useful. That was what Fal had said.
魔法糖果在这个游戏里等同于货币，打倒敌人就能够得到魔法糖果。换句话说，魔法糖果赋予了魔法少女积极打怪的意义。先不论其他的，总之魔法糖果拥有越多越好，一定会派上用场的。法尔如此说明。

Nokko-chan said that like Magical Daisy, she had heard of Magical Candies before. Therefore, she asked Fal about it.
小原原说她与魔女黛西一样，曾经听过魔法糖果这个名字。于是，也询问法尔这件事。

“That matter concerns a certain testing area ~pon. Magical Girl work = doing good deeds to help others, so depending on the scope of the good deed or the degree of their gratitude, Magical Girls would receive a matching amount of Magical Candy. In other words, it was a quantitative measurement of goodness, in order to encourage Magical Girls to work with all their heart ~pon.”
「那是关于某个测试地区的事情蹦。魔法少女的工作=助人的善行，所以会根据助人的规模或是被感谢的程度，得到相对的魔法糖果蹦。也就是说将善行量化，藉此激励魔法少女热心工作。」

Apparently, it had been too systematized and lacked the human touch, and it was not the product of love and friendship. After that, certain factions had strongly opposed it, and it had been scrapped in the testing phases, and only the name of Magical Candy survived onto this test. So that was it. When listening to Fal, it felt like they had heard all this before.
据说因为计画太过系统化而没有人情味，而且也不是情谊与友爱的产物。后来因为一部分的势力强力反弹，在测试阶段就遭废除，只有把魔法糖果的名字重新再利用于这次的测验。原来如此，听它这么说，自己好像的确听说过这么一回事。

Much like the rest of the game, the town’s store was devoid of people. The only thing there was a menu detailing assorted recovery items, rations and other items. Magical Daisy pressed the help button to summon Fal.
镇上的商店与游戏内的其他地方一样空无一人，只有挂着各种恢复类道具或存粮等的道具明细单。魔女黛西按下求助键叫出法尔。

“What’s the meaning of this Travel Permit? It seems to cost 5 Candies.”
「这个通行证是什么意思？似乎得用五颗魔法糖果才能购买。」

“The Travel Permit is used when moving between areas ~pon. Every party needs one ~pon. A permit is effective until the next sunrise ~pon.”
「通行证在区域间移动时会用到蹦。一个队伍必须要有一张蹦。一张的时效可以维持到下一个清晨来临之前蹦。」

“So we’ll buy one, then… is that alright?”
「那就买一张吧……没问题吧？」

The other three nodded and so Magical Daisy pointed at the menu and asked:
三个人纷纷点头，于是魔女黛西指着明细单说：

“So there’s a Travel Permit, and… Preserved Food?”
「那一张通行证，还有……存粮？」

“The game has a hidden hunger stat ~pon. Even Magical Girls have to eat ~pon. Therefore, please obtain the food you need and don’t let yourself get hungry ~pon.”
「游戏内有隐藏的空腹数据值蹦。即使是魔法少女，也还是需要进食蹦。所以，请你们摄取必要的食物，维持在不会饿肚子的程度即可蹦。」

Come to think of it, she did feel hungry. Several hours should have passed since she entered the game. The lack of a clock, combined with the unnatural, unchanging temperature, had combined to mess up her sense of time.
听它这么一说，肚子的确是饿了。进人游戏世界以来，应该也经过数小时了。没有时钟，加上毫无变化的不自然气温，导致她的时间概念混乱起来。

“Also, what is this [R] thing?”
「还有，这个『R』是什么？」

Most of the items had self-explanatory names, like “Large Recovery Medicine”, “Small Recovery Medicine”, “Preserved Food” and so on, which made them obvious at a glance. Only the [R] item was different. In addition to its mysterious name, its price was also uniquely high. A single Preserved Food cost 1 Magical Candy, a Large Recovery Medicine cost 20 Candies, but this item cost a full 100 Candies.
大部分的道具都有类似说明的名字，像是「大瓶恢复药水」、「小瓶恢复药水」、「存粮」看了大致上就能理解内容，唯独这个只写了「R」的道具特立独行。不只是那谜样的名字，就连价格也是一枝独秀的高。一餐存粮只需要一颗魔法糖果，大瓶恢复药水需要二十颗魔法糖果，而这个道具居然需要一百颗魔法糖果。

“Using this allows you to gain a random item ~pon. You can obtain something surprising and rare ~pon.”
「使用这个便能够得到非特定的道具蹦。能够得到非常惊人且稀奇的东西蹦！」

There was a gasp of “ohhhhh~”. She wondered who it was, and upon turning around, she saw that Genopsycho had made that sound.
传来「喔〜」的惊呼声。还以为是谁，看过去，发出声音的原来是杰若疯子。

“So this game has a gacha function too!”
「果然这类的游戏还是需要这种扭蛋功能！」

“Is there a need to be so happy about it?”
「有需要这么高兴呗？」

“I couldn’t get the item I wanted, so I tried the gacha over and over again, and by the time I came to my senses, I’d racked up a mountain of debt. Before I knew it, my creditors were even calling my workplace up to ask for money.”
「一直扭不到想要的东西，就无止尽地花钱玩扭蛋，等到回过神来才发现自己过着如梦般的借钱人生，不知不觉间，讨债的电话甚至还打到工作的地方催钱。」

“Doesn’t sound happy at all ~aru.”
「听起来一点都不令人高兴呗。」

“You don’t get it! That’s why it’s so awesome! Ah~ it’s awakened my collector’s desire.”
「你不懂呀！就是这样才棒啊。啊！我的搜集欲望都被挑起了。」

“But… we don’t have enough Magical Candies.”
「但是……魔法糖果不够。」

Just as Nokko-chan said, they had nowhere near enough Magical Candies. The four of them had only 20 Candies put together, so they were 80 Candies short of having enough to buy the [R] item.
正如小原原所说的，魔法糖果的数量还差得远了。四人的魔法糖果加起来也不过二十颗，如果要买「R」的话，还差了八十颗。

“Oh, what a shame. This sort of thing is where the fun of games lies.”
「唔，可惜。做这种事情才是玩游戏的乐趣所在呀。」

“We’re having a commemorative campaign for the game’s opening ~pon. First-time visitors only need to spend 10 Candies ~pon.”
「今天有举办开幕的纪念活动蹦。第一次光临的话，仅需花十颗魔法糖果蹦。」

It seemed as though there was a glint of light within the shadow of her visor.
总觉得藏在遮阳镜片深处的眼神，似乎迸出一道光芒。

“Buy it! Buy it! I totally want to buy it! Buy it right now!”
「买吧！买吧！我绝对要买！现在就买下来吧！」

“Still, shouldn’t we buy medicine or preserved food first?”
「但是，先买药水或是存粮比较好呗？」

“Buy it with the leftover money. In any case, we can buy it for a tenth of the original price, if you don’t get it now, it’ll be a terrible waste!”
「那就用剩下的钱买啊。只有现在才能够用十分之一的价钱买到，不买绝对是一大损失！」

In the end, they were no match for Genopsycho’s high-pressure salesmanship, and they bought an [R], which eventually netted them a Map. The map was an application that was added on to a Magica Phone’s mapping abilities; as long as one registered the location of the area’s town and one’s current location, one could know the whereabout of one’s team members. Genopsycho puffed her chest up smugly and said, “See, we got a useful item after all. Doing it was the right choice!”
最后败给了杰若疯子的强力推销，购入一个「R」，结果得到的是「地图」。地图是能在魔法终端设备追加地图功能的应用软体，只要登录该区域的城镇与自己的所在位置，就能得知队员们目前的所在地。杰若疯子抬头挺胸得意地说：「你们看，果然得到方便的道具了。下手果然是正确的吧！」

Between @Nyannyan’s careful consideration that “we need to collect more information”, Genopsycho’s bold opinion that “I want to explore a new area” and Nokko-chan who would follow Magical Daisy’s line of thinking without question, Magical Daisy put them all together, and the conclusion she reached was “let’s go take a look on the grasslands area”.
在@娘娘认为「必须再多搜集一些情报」的慎重意见，以及杰若疯子「总之就是想去新的地方探险」的大胆意见，和无条件附和魔女黛西想法的小原原，综合以上意见，魔女黛西最后得出的结论便是「去草原区域看看吧」。

Having decided to take part in the game, she found that she had shouldered the burden of the party leader by the time she realized it. She did not reject the trust which other people placed in her; it was simply that she had not done this for a while, She seemed more motivated than she thought she was. Although she felt that she ought to be more careful, there was no guarantee that staying in the wilderness was better.
决定参加游戏的她，回过神来时已经肩负着队长的使命。她并不会排斥受到别人的依赖，只不过好久没这样子了。她似乎比自认为的还更加充满干劲。虽然她认为应该要慎重一点，不过继续待在荒野也无法保证比较好。

Since she was part of the game and leading a party, she obviously wanted to win. That being the case, she had to shrink the distance between themselves and the leading players. Along the way, she kicked the scattered Skeletons which appeared to bits as they advanced according to the map displayed by the Magical Phone. After that, they saw a wooden checkpoint gate which looked like it had come from the Edo period, set up between two vertical slabs of stone, as though to block up the gap. Once they stepped through the wooden gate, the scenery changed from the wilderness to the grasslands.
既然参加游戏又率领着小队，她当然会想获得胜利。这么一来，就得尽量缩短与领先玩家之间的距离。路途中，一边将零星出现的骸骨踢爆，一边根据魔法终端设备指示的地图前进。接着，就看到一个宛如江户时代关隘会有的年代久远的木门，建造在两道垂直的岩石之间，仿佛要将缝隙堵住般。一踏进木门，景色便从荒野变化成草原。

The ankle-height grass swayed gently in the wind. Fields of green spread as far as the eye could see, and the view was easier on the eyes than buildings and dusty wilderness. The sunlight was weaker, and the temperature they felt went down as well.
高至脚踝的草，轻柔地被风吹拂着。青葱的翠绿色在眼前延展开来，景象比起只有大楼与尘土的荒野还宜人。阳光也弱了一些，体感温度也跟着下降。

“Still, it’s just as expansive.”
「不过一样非常宽广辽阔。」

Genopsycho stretched her waist, used her hand to shade her visor, then turned a full circle to look around the surroundings. The door through which they had come through aside, she could only see the horizon in every other direction. While the view here was kinder to one’s eyes than the wilderness, they would get tired of it if they stayed here for long.
杰若疯子弯着腰，手靠在遮阳镜片上，转了一圈眺望四周。除去身后的门，朝其余的地方望去只能看到地平线。虽然比起荒野，这里的景色对眼睛比较好，但是长时间待在这里似乎会容易厌倦。

“Isn’t there a town here like the one from before…”
「没有像刚才一样的『城镇』吗……」

Nokko-chan called up the map through her Magical Phone.
小原原正透过魔法终端设备叫出地图。

“Towns are important, but the most important thing in games like these are farming spots.”
「城镇虽然重要，但是这类游戏最要紧的就是赚钱的地方。」

Genopsycho punched the air several times with a whoosh whoosh whoosh.
杰若疯子做出对着空气打拳击的动作，休休休地来回挥拳。

“The area door seems to open when someone clears an event, what do you think about that ~aru? Fal also said that we could earn Magical Candies by clearing events ~aru.”
「区域的门似乎会因为事件任务而打开，这一点你们怎么想儿？法尔不也说过达成任务也能够得到魔法糖果儿。」

@Nyannyan squatted, as though to inspect the grass.
@娘娘蹲了下去，像是在观察草一般。

Everything which everyone said sounded correct, which troubled Magical Daisy.
大家说的话似乎都很正确，因此令魔女黛西感到困扰。

Earning Candies were very important. To Magical Daisy--who had essentially been forbidden from combat--the Skeletons could not take a hit from her, but they were the ideal targets for her to vent the frustration she had accumulated throughout her daily life. Any killer move she unleashed made perfect sense, and one could say that it was a merit of the game.
赚钱非常重要。对等于是被禁止战斗的魔女黛西而言，骸骨虽然不堪一击，但却是用来发泄平常生活所累积的不满的最佳对象。无论她展现哪一种杀人技巧都合情合理，这也可以说是游戏带来的好处。

Clearing events was also very important. In order to fight stronger enemies, they would have to advance into the next area. More to the point, they had to advance into the next area before anyone else did in order to clear the game. Games usually featured scenarios like this.
事件任务也很重要。为了与更强大的敌人战斗，必须前进到下一个区域才行。更何况为了达成任务，必须比任何人早前进到下一个区域才行。游戏大致上都是这种行为模式。

Thinking carefully about it, Magical Daisy seemed to be making her decision based on whether or not there would be combat.
仔细思考起来，魔女黛西似乎都是以有无战斗为考虑前提。

--Because fighting really is quite fun...
——因为战斗真的很有趣嘛……

Being able to unhesitatingly do something which would be considered forbidden was a merit of the game world. That was what she thought.
能够毫不战战兢兢地做出被视为禁忌的行为，正是游戏世界的好处。她是这么认为。

“Alright, let’s head to the town first. Perhaps once we reach the town, we’ll receive an event to clear, a hint to said event, information about hunting grounds, or something like that.”
「好，首先朝城镇前进。也许去到城镇上，就能够得到开放区域的事件任务或是提示、好的狩猎场之类的情报。」

After they entered a new area, the area map displayed immediately, and thus everyone could head straight for the town. Now this was a handy map. Genopsycho had ample reason to be proud. As they passed through the grasslands towards the town, they encountered an obstacle after a mere five minutes of travel.
当她们一进到新区域后，立即显示出区域的地图，因此众人才能笔直地朝城镇前进。原来如此，还真是方便的地图呀。杰若疯子的确有引以为傲的本钱。就在她们横越草原朝城镇前进时，才走了五分钟就遭遇阻碍。

“Ohhh, they’re red!”
「喔喔，红色的！」

“Uwah… they look kind of grotesque.”
「唔哇……总觉得怪恶心的。」

They seemed to have stepped into a monster spawn site, and they saw crawl out of the earth with a rattling noise. These Skeletons were not white all over like the ones in the wilderness, but they were pure red.
她们似乎是踏人了怪物出没的地点，只见骸骨哗啦哗啦地从地面爬出来，那些骸骨不同于荒野区是整身的白，而是完美地染成清一色的红。

“So these are Skeleton Mark IIs ~aru.”
「这算是骷髅Ⅱ代的意思呗。」

“It’s just a palette swap, are they trying to reduce the data load? This is surprisingly miserly for a Magic game.”
「只不过改变一下颜色而已，是想减轻容量负担吗？以魔法游戏来说，还真是令人意外的穷酸呀。」

“Everyone, don’t get careless. Since we’re in a new area, the enemies might have become stronger. We can’t make decisions just based on their appearance, we need to fight with all our might!”
「大家不可以轻忽大意。既然来到新的区域，敌人也许会变得更强。不可以光凭外观就下判断，要全力以赴战斗！」

Genopsycho lowered her visor, @Nyannyan raised one leg in a Chinese kempo-like stance to meet the enemy, while Nokko-chan brandished her beribboned mop.
杰若疯子放下遮阳镜片,@娘娘抬起一只脚摆出中国拳法风格的迎敌姿势，而小原原则是挥着绑上蝴蝶结装饰的拖把。

They had already discussed their tactics against the monsters. First, Genopsycho would lower her visor and charge the enemy. Yumenoshima Genopsycho’s Magic was “a special suit”, and according to her, “You’ll see,  I can tank a supernova or even the Big Bang”. Thus, it would seem that as long as she lowered her visor, it would seem she could defend against any attack. Then, what if I fired my Daisy Beam… The thought ran through Magical Daisy’s mind, but she did not speak it. Magical Daisy was a mature Magical Girl, and she would not do something childish and pointless as that.
她们已经商量好打怪的战术。首先由放下遮阳镜片的杰若疯子进行突击。梦之岛杰若疯子的魔法是「特殊紧身衣」。根据她本人所言，「无论是超新星或是宇宙大爆炸，我都能防御给你们看」，因此只要她放下遮阳镜片，似乎就能抵挡任何攻击。「那如果发射我的黛西光波的话……」如此念头闪过魔女黛西的脑海，不过她并没有说出口。魔女黛西可是成熟的魔法少女，才不会做这种孩子气的无聊举动。

Genopsycho assaulted the enemy punching and kicking mercilessly. The gun on her waist was just a decorative prop, so she threw herself into the melee. Magical Daisy checked to see what sorts of attacks the enemy could deploy and what sort of attacks they could take.
杰若疯子突击敌人,又踢又揍的完全不留情。挂在腰上的枪只是营造整体气氛的装饰品，所以她只是一味地进行肉搏战。魔女黛西逐一确认敌人施展何种攻击，并且能承受何种程度的攻击。

“Ah, it should be fine! Those guys are about the same as the white Skeletons!”
「啊，应该没有问题！这些家伙与白色骸骨差不了多少！」

After hearing the announcement, @Nyannyan launched a flying kick at a Skeleton while Nokko-chan swung her mop and shattered a Skeleton’s skull. Of course, Magical Daisy was not just standing idly by. Elbow strikes, roundhouse kicks, palms and thrust kicks; she used all the moves she had trained up on the Skeletons.
接获报告后，@娘娘立刻出脚飞踢一具骸骨，小原原则是挥动拖把击碎骸骨的头盖骨。当然，魔女黛西也不只是呆站在一边，肘击、回旋踢、掌底、前踢，将训练过的一切技巧用在骸骨身上。

The Skeletons fell apart in an instant, and only one remained.
短短一瞬间，骸骨就被踢碎，只剩下一具。

“Everyone, back away! I’m going to use my super move!”
「大家快离开！我要使出最终的必杀技！」

After ensuring everyone was clear, Magical Daisy pointed at the Skeleton, and shouted. In truth, she could have used an ordinary attack, but it was a rare opportunity to have Magical Daisy fans around, so this was something like fanservice; besides, it felt vaguely insulting to her Magical Girl name if she did not cap it all off with her killer move.
确认大家远离之后，魔女黛西才指向骸骨，并且大声呐喊。其实用普通的攻击就可以了，但是难得有魔女黛西的粉丝在场，算是服务一下粉丝，再加上不用必杀技收尾，似乎有辱她魔法少女之名。

“Daisy Beam!”
「黛西光波！」

The yellow shaft of light struck the Skeleton dead on. Its spine vanished into smoke, its ribs flew apart, and the red Skeleton crumbled noisily to the ground--at least, she imagined that should have happened, but the Skeleton was unharmed and still moving. @Nyannyan leaped over, and with kicks to the heel, waist, and neck, she obliterated the Skeleton.
骸骨的躯体遭到黄色光柱直接命中。脊椎骨化做一道烟雾、肋骨弹飞，哗啦哗啦地崩落的红色骸骨——原本的想象会是如此，但是骸骨毫发无伤地动着。@娘娘飞了过去，——踢向脚后跟、腰、脖子，将骸骨全身击碎。

Genopsycho was pointing at her and shouting, but for some reason Magical Daisy could not hear anything. Something seemed to be welling up from inside her throat, and she spat it out. It was a warm liquid. She saw the sky, which was very blue, with nothing visible in it besides the sun. Her back struck the ground, and when she collapsed, Magical Daisy saw that her belly was stained a brilliant red, and blood was gushing out uncontrollably.

Finally, Magical Daisy’s heart lurched violently, and she lost consciousness.
杰若疯子正指向这边大叫着，不知道为什么魔女黛西听不到声音。似乎有什么从喉咙深处涌起，她吐了出来。那是温热的液体。她看得到天空，非常蓝，除了太阳不见任何东西。背部撞向地面，倒下去的时候，魔女黛西看到自己的腹部被染成一片鲜红，血液无止尽地流淌出来。
最后，魔女黛西的心脏剧烈地跳动，失去意识。

☆ Pechika

Using the town as their base of operations, they hunted the monsters on the grasslands and earned Magical Candies. At the same time, they searched for useful information about the events which needed to be cleared to unlock the next area, or which might help in completing the game. While splitting the party was risky to some extent, as long as they had the map gained through [R], they could be sure of the party members’ positions, so they decided to divide themselves into two teams.
以城镇为据点，狩猎草原上的怪物、赚取魔法糖果。同时，搜集开放区域的任务或是其他破关游戏的有用情报，进行搜寻行动。虽然将队员拆开会有一定的风险，但是只要有透过「R」得到的地图，就能确切掌握队员所在位置，于是她们就决定分成两个小组行动。

When they divided themselves into the combat team and the searching them, Pechika breathed a sigh of soul-deep relief. She was not brave enough to join the fight, and neither was she thick-skinned enough to endure the reproachful glares directed her way for her lack of contribution. Rionetta had even muttered things like “We would be more effective as a group of three”, as though to let others here. Perhaps if she had the courage to retort and say something like, “Hey stupid, I didn’t beg you to let me into the party”, perhaps things would not have gotten to this stage.
当分成战斗组与搜索组的时候，蓓蒂卡打从心底松了一口气。她没有勇气加入战斗，脸皮也没有厚到能忍受因为自己的毫无贡献，投射而来的责备视线。莉欧妮塔甚至还像是刻意说给别人听般，喃喃自语地说「三个人一组会更有效率」之类的话。如果她有勇气回嘴，说笨蛋，我又没有拜托你让我入队之类的话,事情也不会演变到这个地步吧。

She could not help in any way, nor was she motivated to do anything, and the only thing that happened was time going by. She wanted the game to end soon, yet she could not bring herself to progress it. Only her anxiety continued growing, and Pechika herself had no idea when it would explode.
她什么忙都帮不上，也无心积极去做什么事，只有时间毫不停歇地流逝。明明希望能早点破关,却又无心进行游戏。唯有焦虑的情绪不断膨胀，蓓蒂卡自己也不知道何时会爆炸。

Pechika told herself to be brave, in the hopes that it would help her search.
蓓蒂卡自告奋勇，希望能让她进行搜索。

“Hahaha! I managed to get my hands on a stack of useful information, that ought to come as a surprise to that RealDoll~!”
「哈哈！我要搜集到一大堆派得上用场的情报，让那个真人人偶大吃一〜惊！」

Compared to Rionetta’s frightening, barbed tongue, or Clantail’s terrifying air of silent pressure, Miyokata Nonako was hardly as scary. Also, compared to the other two who looked like monsters, her appearance was much more human.
与话中带刺让人很害怕的莉欧妮塔，或是充满无言压力让人恐惧的古兰迪儿相较之下，御世方那子就没那么恐怖了。外表也比拥有怪物般外貌的那两个人，看起来更像人类。

“The grasslands area is so comfy~! I don’t ever want to go back to the wilderness again~!”
「草原区域还真是舒服〜耶！我再也不想回去荒野〜了！」

“Ah, could you please, be a little more quiet…”
「那个，可以的话请你稍微小声一点……」

“It’s be good if there were animals around~! I’d make them my babies~!”
「如果有什么动物就好〜了！我会好好疼爱它〜的！」

“Ah…”
「那个……」

“Pechika-san, how did you become a Magical Girl~? I got a text message~!”
「蓓蒂卡是如何当上魔法少女的〜呢？我是收到了简讯〜喔！」

“Like I was saying…”
「听我说……」

“Oh, this is so cute~! Cute is justice!”
「这个好可爱〜喔！可爱就是Justice(正义）！」

“Please, stop pulling…”
「住手，别乱拉啦……」

However, she was very noisy. She completely ignored the fact that Pechika was worried about how her racket might attract monsters. It seemed she would not be able to shut her up for the duration of this journey.
只不过她很吵，完全无视于担心大声喧哗会引出怪物的蓓蒂卡。看来这一路上是不可能让她闭上嘴巴了。

She made a commotion when she saw the scenery, she laughed loudly when the wind blew, and every single conversation ended up revolving around her. Miyokata Nonako said that she had a very cute friend called “Tama-chan”, but she could not bring Tama-chan into the game. She had asked Fal about it; apparently one could only bring Magical Girl weapons and costumes inside.
看到风景就会大声喧哗、风吹拂而过就会哈哈大笑，无论如何都只会一味地绕着自己的话题打转。御世方那子说自己有一个非常可爱的朋友「小玉」，却不能把小玉带来游戏里。她问过法尔，似乎是只能带魔法少女的武器与装扮入内。

Thanks to her, walking was more tiring than usual, and while the Preserved Food tasted good, it did not please her.
多亏有她，就连走路都比平常还令人疲倦，而只有存粮的餐点虽然好吃却也让人高兴不起来。

“So like I said, bring on something else other than Skeletons~!”
「所以说啊！快点出现除了骸骨以外的东西〜吧！」

When Pechika sat on a rock, nibbling at her Preserved Food, she suddenly hit the rock with a bang!. Pechika was so alarmed that she dropped the Preserved Food she was holding, and after picking it up and blowing on it a few tiems, she continued eating it once more.
当蓓蒂卡坐在岩石上，小口小口地吃着存粮时，她突然砰的一声拍打岩石。吓得蓓蒂卡掉了手上的存粮，急忙捡起存粮吹了几口之后，又重新吃起来。

“If only Skeletons show up, I can’t use my Magic~. I want to make new friends too, that way I can contribute to the party~ We don’t need Magical Girls who can’t use their Magic~!”
「只会出现骸骨的话，我的魔法就派不上用场〜了。我想要结交新朋友，才能对小队有贡献〜我们才不需要无法使用魔法的魔法少〜女！」

What did Pechika--who could only make delicious food, yet could not be said to be contributing to the team--think about that? But Pechika was too cowardly to answer.
不知道对于只会制作美味料理，又称不上对队伍有所贡献的蓓蒂卡，她有什么想法？但是蓓蒂卡实在是太胆怯了，所以问不出口。

“Therefore, I’m going to find a new monster during this search~!”
「所以说，我要在这次的搜索中寻找新的怪〜物！」

She clenched her fist tightly, and as she said so, her eyes gleamed brightly.
紧紧握拳，如此说的那子，双眼散发出光辉。

“Pechika-san, if you find a new monster, please leave it to me~ As thanks, if you get booted from the party, I’ll follow you~”
「蓓蒂卡，如果发现新的怪物，请你将它让给我〜吧！做为谢礼，如果你被赶出去的话，我会帮你说话〜的！」

“Ahh, erm, thank you.”
「啊啊，嗯，谢谢你。」

The hand holding Pechika’s pumped up and down. Was she trying to comfort her? Her words did not seem too appropriate, and Pechika did not feel comforted at all.
那子握住蓓蒂长的手上下摇晃。她算是在安慰自己吧？内容实在有点不恰当，宿蒂卡也不觉得自己有被安慰到。

She thought she could feel the presence of more living creatures in the grasslands area, compared to the wilderness. However, reality was far removed from Nonako’s optimistic expectations, her certainty that there must be some animal-shaped monsters around. Nothing had appeared besides the Red Skeletons, not even an ant. As she heard Nonako muttering “fuck this shitty game~”, Pechika nodded in agreement
草原区域比起荒野似乎能感受到更多生物的气息。然而，事实却悖离了乐观地一口咬定这里一定有动物外形的怪物存在的那子期待。除了红色骸骨之外，连一只小蚂蚁都没出现。听到那子骂着「这是什么烂游戏」的喃喃自语，蓓蒂卡点点头表示同意。

To the monster-phobic Pechika, that was a stroke of luck, but to Miyokata, who craved friends, it was terrible luck. They did not encounter animal-type monsters, but instead, they encountered other players.
对于害怕怪物的蓓蒂卡而言，算是相当好运，但对于想要朋友的御世方那子来说，简直是运气背到家。并没有出现动物型怪物，不过，她们遇见了其他玩家。

They encountered a wheelchair-bound Magical Girl--Pfle-- in the grasslands area, who was currently working on clearing the area unlock even; it would seem her other team members were off farming up Magical Candies.
在草原区域的城镇邂逅的坐轮椅魔法少女——普芙蕾，正在攻略开放区域的事件任务：其他队员似乎离开去赚取魔法糖果了。

She seemed dreamlike enough that she would vanish with the slightest touch and fragile enough that she would break with the slightest caress. It seems too dangerous to let a girl like this wander around by herself, even if she was just searching for something, Pechika thought at first. However, after finding out that Pfle’s tone and manner of speaking were much stronger than what her exterior suggested, Pechika could not help but muse, so she was a Magical Girl after all.
仿佛只要轻轻一触碰就会消失不见的梦幻感、只要轻轻一抚就会骨折的柔弱感，就算只是搜寻行动，但是让这样子的女生独自一人行动也太危险了吧。蓓蒂卡原本如此心想。不过，在发现普芙蕾的声音与语气比外表坚强有力许多之后，蓓蒂卡不禁暗忖，她果然是魔法少女。

“Everyone seems to have formed up into parties, but some people are moving around on their own.”
「大家似乎组成了好几个队伍，不过也有人单独行动。」

Moving around on their own. Just the thought of having to fight Skeletons by herself sent a chill down Pechika’s spine. Pechika would not dare to do it.
单独行动。光是想到要独自一人迎战骸骨，就令蓓蒂卡的背脊感到一阵冰冷。换作蓓蒂卡，她才不敢。

“There’s a hunting party on the east side of town, and another one on the south. However, one thing is quite surprising; nobody’s drawn up any boundaries, but everyone's distributed themselves on their own. And what else was there? Right, the grasslands have Red Skeletons. Best be careful of them.”
「城镇东边有一队在进行狩猎，南边也有一组。不过，有一件事情很不可思议，明明没有划分界线，大家却自然地四散各处。其他还有什么呢？对了，草原有红色的骷髅。你们最好小心它们。」

“But, those Skeletons are so weak~ They’re hardly any stronger than the white ones.”
「但是，那些骷髅很弱〜耶。实力跟白色的没两样〜呀。」

“They’re different from the white Skeletons, they have the ability to reflect ranged attacks.”
「它们跟白色骸骨不同，拥有能反弹飞射型道具的特性。」

The Magical Phone she handed over displayed the image of a Red Skeleton. Its clip art was imposing and it looked like it was about to jump out of the screen at any time, and it felt more powerful than the real thing, which seemed to be nothing more than a punching bag.

“Name: Skeleton Powered.
Magical Candies: 8-12.
Area Appearing: Grasslands.
Number Appearing: 5-20.
Elemental Weakness: Fire.
Can reflect long-ranged attacks, please close in and engage in direct combat.”

All these and more appeared in a long description.
她递过来的魔法终端设备里，显示着红色骸骨的图像。仿佛随时要跳出画面袭击过来、充满迫力的插图，看起来似乎比只会一直被压着打的实际骸骨还厉害。「名称：加强版骷髅」、「魔法糖果：八至十二颗」、「出现区域：草原」、「出现数量：五至二十具」、「弱点属性：火」、「能反弹一切长射程的攻击。请拉近距离，进行直接攻击」等，满满的说明文。

“One of our party members tried throwing a rock, but she ended up with a bump on her head instead.”
「我队上的队员朝它丢了石头，结果她的头就肿了一个大包。」

“What’s this~? Monster data?”
「这个是什〜么？怪物资料？」

“This is an app purchased from the grasslands shop, called the Monster Manual. If more enemies who can reflect attacks show up, it’ll be essential. Having your own attacks bounced back onto you is no joke.”
「这是草原的商店卖的应用软体，叫做怪物图鉴。如果还会出现能反弹攻击的对手，可见这是必须的。攻击敌人却反弹到自己身上，那可不是开玩笑的。」

Thus, they quickly sent a text saying “Red Skeletons seem to be able to reflect ranged attacks” to Clantail. The party members had already exchanged their numbers. While the Magical Phone text functions were still out of order, for some reason there was no problem sending texts to fellow participants of the game.
于是她们迅速传送「红色骸骨似乎能反弹飞射型道具的攻击」的简讯内容给古兰迪儿。队员们早就交换了彼此的号码。虽然魔法终端设备的简讯功能仍然有问题，但不知道为什么只要是游戏内的成员，就能畅行无阻地互传简讯。

“The shop in the grasslands area sells all kinds of items, you should go take a look. It also sells weapons and armor. While they were made for Magical Girls, their materials and workmanship are quite plain, and they just feel inadequate.”
「草原区域的商店还有贩售其他各式各样的道具，你们最好也去看看，另外也有贩卖武器与护具喔。虽然做为魔法少女的使用物品，无论是材质或是作工都稍嫌朴素，总之就是让人觉得不够完美就是了。」

They recorded everything Pfle said in their Magical Girl memo pads, and then bade her farewell. In the end, all they had learned here was what she knew, with the two of them merely listening, but Pfle did not seem to mind as she smiled and waved.
将普芙蕾所说的事情全都记在魔法少女的笔记本里，然后跟她道别。结果这边所掌握到的情报都是她知道的事情，两人光只是听她说，不过普芙蕾却不在意地笑着挥了挥手。

“She was a nice person~!”
「她真是好人〜耶！」

“Yes, fortunately…”
「真的，幸好她是好人……」

Pfle was the only Magical Girl they had encountered in their searching. Perhaps the other Magical Girls were working hard to defeat monsters in the hunting areas. The yields in the grasslands were much better than in the wilderness, so it was not strange to see others intent on making a big sum here.
搜索中遇到的魔法少女，只有普芙蕾一人。也许是其他的魔法少女，都努力地在狩猎场奋勇打怪吧。与荒野区域比起来，草原区域的收获好多了，所以就算别人打算在这里大赚一笔也没什么好讶异的。

There was a message in town. Although the town did not feel alive, being little more than a slapdash gathering of buildings, there were still hints left behind in the form of a notice or a flyer.
城镇中有留言。虽然镇上没有生活感，只是乱七八糟地伫立着一堆建筑物，不过还是会以张贴布告栏或是便条纸的形式留下线索。

The message did not just say something along the lines of “this is the grasslands town”, it also mentioned monster spawn points--to be kept in mind--as well as how the items sold in the shops would change from town to town and many other pieces of important information. Pechika recorded this information down one after the other.
上面并非只是写着一些「这里是草原城镇」之类的文字，还会写到草原哪里是怪物出没的地点，要人注意，或是商店卖的道具会根据城镇有所不同之类的众多情报，蓓蒂卡将这些情报一条一条地记录下来。

“This pisses me off!”
「我不爽！」

“Eh? What’s wrong?”
「咦？怎么了吗？」

“There’s no baskets in the houses, and no treasure chests! It’s the hero’s privilege to rummage around in people’s homes and not have people get angry at them!!”
「民房里面既没有箱子也〜没有宝盒！到处翻箱倒柜却毫无斩获，也只有勇者才不会生气〜吧！」

“Is that so…”
「是这样子的吗……」

Pechika thought, Nonako might be mad, but things had gone quite well on the whole. They had picked up a letter placed in a building, followed its instructions, and brought it to a certain building in the wilderness town, and that had netted them 100 Magical Candies. Nonako cheered, applauded and exclaimed, “Mission success!”

She’s not so much loud as overemotional, Pechika thought to herself.
蓓蒂卡心想，虽然那子如此不满，但事情大致上进行的还算顺利吧。她们捡起一张放在建筑物房间里的信，根据信上的指示，将那封信带到荒野城镇上的某个建筑物里，就得到了一百颗魔法糖果。那子开心地拍手大叫「任务大成功〜耶！」，与其说这个人很吵，倒不如说她是感情起伏剧烈，蓓蒂卡暗自心想。

When night fell, they met with the combat team at a prearranged place, which was just in front of the grasslands town. Everyone formed a circle to exchange the information they had gathered or discuss the Candies they had obtained. While people would normally gather around a fireplace, Magical Girls had excellent night vision and they did not need to scare away wild animals. They did not even need to keep warm, so they simply sat in a circle.
夜晚来临时，她们便在事先约好的地点，也就是草原区域的城镇前与战斗组会合。大家围成一圈，交换各自得到的情报或是讨论搜集到的魔法糖果。虽然一般都会围绕火堆，不过魔法少女的夜视能力佳，也没必要吓阻野兽，甚至不用保暖，因此她们只是围成一圈坐着。

Rionetta seemed very tired, she did not seem to be in good shape, and she did not speak much. Clantail remained as quiet as always, but her little deer’s tail drooped limply, so she must have been tired too.
莉欧妮塔似乎非常疲倦，脸色不太好，发言次数也变少了。古兰迪儿则是一样沉默寡言，但是小鹿尾巴无力地垂下，看来她似乎也累了。

She thought their fatigue was caused by hard fighting, but that did not seem to be the case.
原本以为她们是拼命战斗造成的疲劳，不过似乎不是这么一回事。

“We did not manage to make any gains.”
「我们根本没什么收获。」

“Oh? And who was it who said you don’t eat if you don’t work, or something like that~?”
「喔？之前又是谁说没工作的人怎么样之类的〜呀？」

“It was not that we did not work, but we could not work!”
「我们并不是没工作，而是没办法工作！」

They had found a new hunting ground, but it had already been claimed by another Magical Girl, and she had said something along the lines of, “We found this spot, go find your own” before chasing them away.
她们找到的新狩猎场，已经被其他魔法少女占据，还说「这里是我们找到的，你们去别的地方」之类的话赶走两人。

“What a terrible person~”
「真是恶劣的人〜呀。」

“Yes, almost as bad as you.”
「是啊，仅次于你。」

Before Nonako could shoot back at Rionetta, the seated Clantail stomped her hooves loudly. Nonako, who was about to stand up, had no choice but to sit down. Rionetta simply pressed her lips flat, while Pechika simply chewed her Preserved Food as she trembled. Even if it filled her stomach, it was dry in her mouth and did not taste good at all.
在那子反驳之前，坐着的古兰迪儿喀哒一声敲响鹿蹄。正要站起来的那子只好又坐了下来，莉欧妮塔则是抿紧嘴唇，而蓓蒂卡是一边颤抖一边咀嚼存粮。即使能吃得肚子饱饱的，干巴巴的口感却一点也不美味。

However, Pechika thought to herself, even if that were really the case, it did not make sense. sIt was plainly obvious that Rionetta was a very competitive person, and Clantail’s personality was the sort that would not tolerate unreasonable things. Even if they were told to “go somewhere else”, woudl they really have done it? Given how tired they were, she could not help but think that something else had happened.
不过，蓓蒂卡暗自心想，就算真是如此也说不通。莉欧妮塔正如外表一样是个相当好胜的人，而古兰迪儿的个性也不是那种会容忍不合理事情发生的人。就算被人说「去别的地方」，她们真的会照办吗？看到她们两位的疲态，不禁让人觉得也许是发生了其他的事情。

Just as Pechika was munching on her Preserved Food, her Magical Phone’s text alert went off. It was not just Pechika’s, but all the girls’ Magical Phones rang.
正当蓓蒂卡一边咀嚼着存粮时，魔法终端设备的简讯铃声响起。不只是蓓蒂卡的，其他魔法少女的终端设备也响了起来。

The screen displayed an instruction.
画面显示着指令。

『An event is taking place. In five minutes, everyone will be forcibly moved to the plaza of the wilderness town.』
『现在开始会有事件发生。五分钟后会强制将全部的玩家移动至「荒野城镇」的广场上。』

☆ Shadowgale

Just like when the game had begun, the surrounding scenery changed in an instant. The sudden change left her unsteady on her feet, but before she fell, she hurriedly reached out to grab the back of the wheelchair. This was definitely forced movement.
与游戏一开始的时候一样，周遭的风景突然在一瞬间产生变化。突如其来的变化使得她脚步不稳，在差点跌倒之际赶紧伸手扶住轮椅的椅背。这个的确是强制移动。

There were Magical Girls throughout the plaza. Granted, this was in a game, but gathering so many Magical Girls together was quite an impressive sight.
广场到处都是魔法少女。虽然是在游戏里，不过这么多位魔法少女能齐聚一堂也相当壮观。

A shrine maiden-themed Magical Girl was spouting weird phrases like “Geisha! Harakiri! Denchuu de gozaru!” at a samurai-themed Magical Girl, but the latter paid her no heed whatsoever.
巫女风格的魔法少女对着武士风格的魔法少女连续说出「艺妓！切腹！此乃殿内！」等奇怪的单字，但武士风格的魔法少女则完全无视。

A maid-themed Magical Girl, a tokusatsu sentai-themed Magical Girl and a Chinese-themed Magical Girl were gathered in the corner of the plaza, discussing matters. Perhaps she was imagining things, but the three of them looked terrible, with pale faces. Then, a Magical Girl wearing a hunting cap and a small cape… who made her think of a certain detective, made the first move and approached them.
女仆风格与特摄片里的战斗部队风格与中华风格的三人，则是聚集在广场一隅讨论事情。不晓得是不是她的错觉，总觉得她们三个的脸色非常不好，相当铁青。而戴着狩猎帽、披着扇形小斗篷……令人联想到某位名侦探打扮的魔法少女，主动找她们说话。

The Magical Girl whose lower body was that of a deer swished her tail non-stop, and she looked quite excited. In contrast, the cook or patissier-themed Magical Girl beside her seemed very uneasy.
下半身是鹿的魔法少女尾巴摇个不停，似乎相当兴奋。跟在她身边的厨师还是点心师傅之类的魔法少女，则是一脸不安。

Shadowgale squinted as she observed the group, and her gaze settled on one of them. She tugged on Pfle’s sleeve, and quietly whispered:
暗影叶尔眯着眼观察众人，视线停留在其中一人身上，她小力地拉了一下普芙蕾的衣襬，小声地告诉她：

“That’s her, look at that Magical Girl over there.”
「就是那个，你看那个魔法少女。」

The person Shadowgale was pointing at was a Magical Girl who seemed to be wearing a hamster costume, being that she was covered in fur and very fluffy. She was nibbling on a gigantic sunflower seed. A girl with a huge bow on her back was standing beside her and speaking to her, though whether the other party was listening was in doubt.
暗影叶尔视线所指的前方，是仿佛穿着天竺鼠布偶装，全身毛茸茸、蓬松无比的魔法少女，现在正啃着一颗巨大的向日葵种子。站在她身旁、背着巨大弓弩的魔法少女似乎正在对她说话，不过让人怀疑她是否有听进去。

“Yes, she is definitely the one. Granted, her size is different.”
「是啊，绝对就是那个了。虽然尺寸不同。」

Masked Wonder agreed with Shadowgale.
玛丝克德汪达对暗影叶尔的话表示同意。

While Pfle was gathering information, Shadowgale and Masked Wonder were working hard to earn Magical Candies, which meant that they were looking for enemies and fighting them. Capitalist and laborer, white collar and blue collar, master and vassal, their relationship had not changed, even in the game.
在普芙蕾搜集情报的同时，暗影叶尔与玛丝克德汪达则是努力赚取魔法糖果，也就是自始至终都在搜寻敌人与战斗。资本家与劳工、白领阶级与蓝领阶级、使唤人的人与被使唤的人的关系，在游戏里面依旧没有改变。

They ran back and forth over the grasslands, where the scenery was the same no matter where they went. They went from here to there, exploring every single nook and cranny of the area, until they ran into tall rocks which prevented them from advancing any further. During this time, they defeated every single Red Skeleton they saw and then they took a break. As they ate their Preserved Food. Masked Wonder was the first to notice--
她们在无论走到哪里景色都一模一样的草原上来回奔波、从这一头到那一头、踏遍区域的每个角落，直到碰上耸立的岩石，无法继续往前的地方为止。其间，正当她们将视线所及的红色骸骨全部打倒后，暂时休息一下，吃起存粮时，玛丝克德汪达率先察觉到——

“...What is that?”
「这是怎么一回事？」

Shadowgale looked in the direction where Masked Wonder was pointing. Masked Wonder’s hand was touching the ground, and she was looking at that hand. Shadowgale touched the ground as well. Although she did not sense it right away, she could feel a steadily-growing vibration. The ground was going zun zun and shaking at regular intervals, and it was getting more and more intense.
暗影叶尔望向玛丝克德汪达的视线前方。玛丝克德汪达的手碰触着地面，而她正看着那只手。暗影叶尔也用手碰触地面。虽然不能立刻察觉出来，但是能感受到一股逐渐变大的震动。以同样的间隔，地面滋滋滋滋地晃动不已，越来越剧烈。

“Look over there!”
「你看那边！」

Urged on by Masked Wonder, Shadowgale looked ahead once more. It seemed like something was running over from the horizon. It looked like a monster, but also like a Magical Girl. Shadowgale rubbed her eyes, and looked again carefully.
在玛丝克德汪达的催促下，暗影叶尔再度望向她的视线前方。似乎有什么东西正从地平线的那一端走过来。看起来很像怪物，也像魔法少女。暗影叶尔揉了揉眼，再次看清楚。

“Er… the scale’s a bit off, isn’t it?”
「唉……比例尺好像有点奇怪耶？」

“It would seem so.”
「应该没错。」

It was massive. Compared to Masked Wonder, Pfle or Shadowgale, it was far broader and taller. The vibrations coming from the ground grew steadily larger, and the shaking was such that Shadowgale’s butt was being jarred off the ground. How many lifeforms on this earth could shake the earth like this just by running?
好巨大。与玛丝克德汪达或是普芙蕾、暗影叶尔比起来，那个东西的长宽高明显要大上许多。从地面传来的震动逐渐变大，晃动的程度甚至连暗影叶尔的屁股都要被震得离开地面。这个世界上，有多少光是走路就能让地面如此摇晃的生物呢？

The object stopped about 100 meters away. Even at a distance of 100 meters, they still had to raise their heads to look at it. It was… no, it was probably more than 30 meters tall.
那个东西来到约一百公尺处，就停下了脚步。只有一百公尺的距离，当然得抬起头向上看。身高……不，这个东西的全长恐怕有三十公尺以上。

“You can’t hunt here!
「不可以在这里狩猎！」

She seemed to be insinuating that this was their hunting ground, and that she wanted Shadowgale to leave. That implied that she was not a monster, but a Magical Girl.

“Nothing in the game rules prohibits us from doing anything!”
「游戏规则里，可没有规定我们不可以做什么吧！」

Masked Wonder shouted back with all her strength, not paling in the slightest compared to the gigantic Magical Girl.
玛丝克德汪达放声大喊，一点也不输给巨大的魔法少女。

WHile she had not given ground, Shadowgale was still hoping that Masked Wonder could be a little more polite. Shadowgale was already on the verge of tears and her legs had gone soft. While she also felt that claiming territory was very unreasonable, and she felt that Masked Wonder was speaking on her behalf, Shadowgale also knew very well that the side of justice was not guaranteed to win. What on earth was Masked Wonder thinking by challenging a 30-meter tall giantess?
虽然不输给对方，但是暗影叶尔希望玛丝克德汪达能客气一点。暗影叶尔已经双眼泛泪，双脚瘫软。虽然她也认为主张地盘什么的非常不合理，也觉得玛丝克德汪达说出了她的心声，但是暗影叶尔非常清楚，正义的一方并不一定会获胜。居然挑衅这种全长达三十公尺的巨人，玛丝克德汪达到底在想什么啊？

“If you continue staying here, Cerna’s going to get mad!”
「如果你们继续待在这里的话，切尔娜就要生气喽！」

Perhaps she had gotten tired of this, but she stomped her foot. The ground shook, and it was hard to stand firm.
也许是感到不耐烦了，只见她跺着脚。地面摇啊摇啊，实在站不稳了。

“No. Absolutely not.”
「不可能，绝对不可能。」

Shadowgale was on her knees as she inched towards Masked Wonder and tugged on her cape.
暗影叶尔以双脚跪地的姿势，接近玛丝克德•汪达，拉了拉她的斗篷。

“We can’t fight an opponent like this. Let’s run, nobody’s going to praise us for fighting her, so there’s no point. I’m begging you, let’s get out of here.”
「要打架也不是跟这种对手打。我们逃吧，就算跟她战斗也没有人会夸奖我们，根本没有意义。算我拜托你，我们逃吧。」

Masked Wonder shook off Shadowgale’s hand and took a fighting stance.
玛丝克德汪达挥开暗影叶尔的手，摆出迎战架势。

“The strong are not always right, but if justice is weak, then it means nothing!”
「强大不一定代表正义，但不强的正义则是毫无意义！」

“That’s what I’m saying! We can’t win!”
「就跟你说！我们打不赢啦！」

“I am Masked Wonder! The embodiment of strength and justice--a Magical Girl!”
「吾名乃玛丝克德汪达！力量与正义体现者——『魔法少女』！」

Masked Wonder shouted again. She jumped, and jumped again, then jumped and jumped… Shadowgale watched in surprise as her eyes went wide. She had only touched the ground the once; after that she had never landed again. What looked like a simple kick against the ground was a physics-defying leap whose distance, speed and ferocious power covered the 100-meter distance to the enemy. Then, she headed toward the chest of the gigantic Magical Girl, who coudl not react in time to the sudden, massive leap, and kicked her. It was nominally a kick, but it looked more like a gentle touch. However, the gigantic Magical Girl flew through the air upon being kicked, landing on her knees 30 meters behind.
玛丝克德汪达再度大叫。跳了一下，接着又跳了一下，跳啊跳的……暗影叶尔吃惊地睁大双眼。她只有第一下踢到地面，之后就一直没着地。看起来仿佛轻轻踢着地面，其实却以违反物理法则的跳跃距离、速度，与猛烈的气势缩短敌我一百公尺的距离。然后朝因为突如其来的大跳跃而反应不及的巨大魔法少女的胸前，时地一声踢了下去、名义上是踢，看起来只是轻轻地碰了一下，但被踢到的巨大魔法少女遭到踢飞，在后方三十公尺处以膝盖着地。

When such a gigantic object landed after being kicked a full 30 meters through the air, it ought to have generated a greater impact than when it was running. Instead, she landed silently and without any force. Even she had a puzzled look on her face, tilting her head as she patted her body in bafflement.
那么巨大的物体飞了三十公尺后着地，应该会产生比走路还更剧烈的震动才对，结果，她却无声无息地降落地面。就连着地的当事人也带着摸不着头绪的表情，歪着头不解地用手确认自己的身体。

“What did you do? Is this your Magic?”
「你做了什么？这是你的魔法吗？」

“We will not give in to intimidation.”
「我们才不会屈服于恐吓。」

Shadowgale did not particularly mind being included inside that “we”. More to the point, Masked Wonder’s awesome fighting technique was truly amazing. All Shadowgale could do was dumbly watch the back and forth between the gigantic Magical Girl and Masked Wonder.
暗影叶尔对自己被算在那个我们之中并没有任何意见，更何况玛丝克德汪达，那令人叹为观止
的作战策略还真是了不起。暗影叶尔只是一脸呆滞地望着巨大魔法少女与玛丝克德•汪达一来一往。

“So scaring you isn’t enough, then?”
「看来只是威胁对你们起不了作用喽？」

The gigantic Magical Girl stood up and started spinning her right hand. Even the wind from that motion was quite startling. Shadowgale fell prone and clutched at the grass as though she was going to rip it out of the ground.
巨大魔法少女站了起来，奋力地转着右手。就连卷起来的那阵风也相当惊人。暗影叶尔趴倒在地抓住草，连草都仿佛要硬生生地被她连根拔起般。

“Try it, then. If you think you can beat me.”
「试试看啊，如果你觉得自己能赢我的话。」

Masked Wonder struck a fighting pose, and as the air between them grew heavy with tension, someone shouted:
玛丝克德汪达摆好战斗姿势，在飘散着一触击发的紧张气氛中，某人大叫：

“Wait a minute!”
「给我住手！」

That was not Masked Wonder’s voice, and it sounded different from the gigantic Magical Girl’s shouting. Shadowgale, on the other hand, did not even have the will to make a sound. Just then, she realized for the first time that someone was standing on the gigantic Magical Girl’s shoulder, and that someone threw something down from above.
那并不是玛丝克德汪达的声音，也与巨大魔法少女的大嗓门不同，暗影叶尔则是连发出声音的心思都没有。此时，她才第一次察觉到，巨大魔法少女的肩膀上似乎站着人，某人从上面丢了什么东西。

She thought it was an attack, so she backed off to see what had fallen. It was a sapphire the size of a baby’s fist. It was not a raw stone, but a cut, polished and faceted gemstone which sparkled and radiated light. It must have been a fake, because she had no idea how much the real thing would have cost.
原本以为是攻击，于是她向后退看着掉落下来的物品。那是仿佛婴儿拳头大小般的蓝宝石。那并非原石，而是切割整齐，每一道切割面都闪闪发光，绽放着光彩的宝石。如果是真品不晓得值多少钱，想必这是仿冒品吧。

“Toooooh!”
「咚！」

She wore a blue dress with a cape of white fur, and she had a black and white-striped tail. At a look, she could only be a Magical Girl. A Magical Girl now stood in the space which had been empty until now. Shadowgale backed off even further.
身披蓝色连身洋装搭配白毛制成的斗篷，长着黑白条纹尾巴的模样，看起来只可能会是魔法少女。直到刚才为止还空无一物的空间里，站着一位魔法少女。暗影叶尔更往后退。

The girl erected the little and index fingers of both her hands, then crossed her arms in front of herself. Her right knee was bent, her left leg was stretched out, and it looked like a very painful pose.
少女双手的小指与食指竖起，双手在面前交叉，右膝曲膝，左脚则是伸得笔直，摆出看来极为
痛苦的姿势。

“The blue sparkle which dances on the battlefield! Lapis Lazuline!”
「漫舞在战场上的蓝色光芒！菈彼丝蓝金莉汀在此！」

Masked Wonder advanced until she was in front of the Magical Girl. Then she raised her right arm, bent her left in front of her chest, spread her legs wide, and took her “victory pose”.
玛丝克德汪达靠近直到少女面前的距离，举起右手，左手在胸前弯曲，双脚开得大大的，摆出
「胜利姿势」。

“I am Masked Wonder! The embodiment of strength and justice--a Magical Girl!”

After they stared at each other for several seconds, she had no idea who made the first move, but they extended their right hands to each other and shook. While Shadowgale did not quite understand what was going on, it would seem the two of them had achieved some kind of spiritual connection.
相视数秒后，不晓得是谁先变换动作，只见她们向彼此伸出右手然后握手。虽然搞不太清楚状况，不过两位当事人似乎彼此心灵相通。

The Magical Girl calling herself Lapis Lazuline picked up the gemstone and then turned back to the gigantic Magical Girl.
自报姓名为菈彼丝蓝金莉汀的少女，捡起宝石后重新转而面对巨大魔法少女。

“Right, we’re heading back, Cernie! These people aren’t the enemies we have to fight ~su.”
「好啦，我们回去吧！小切尔娜！这些人不是战斗的敌人啦。」

In contrast to her fearsome entrance, her tone was quite casual.
相较于那充满威严的登场方式，语气倒是相当轻浮。

“But, but, Melville asked us to protect the hunting grounds.”
「但是但是，梅尔维儿叫我们守护狩猎场。」

“Nya.”
「嗯呀。」

It was another voice. Shadowgale looked over, and saw a blurred figure melded into the grasslands. The figure slowly resolved itself into a humanoid shape, the green color faded, and it became a Magical Girl. She held a bow in her right hand which did not match a Magical Girl’s slender wrists, while her left hand held an even more out-of-place harpoon. Her weapons looked very powerful, but she wore a bright grey cape, and a pair of slender, graceful legs emerged from a short skirt. Her peach-colored hair was coiled with vines, which sprouted purple roses. Then there were the pointed elfin ears of the sort which only appeared in fantasy stories. All of these showed that she was a Magical Girl.
又是另一道声音。将视线投射过去，便看到一个融在草原之中的朦胧人影。人影慢慢形成人像，绿色逐渐淡薄，变成了魔法少女。右手持有不合乎少女纤细手腕的突兀长弓，左手则拿着更加不协调的粗鄙鱼叉。武器看起来充满威势，但她却披着一袭亮灰色的斗篷，线条优美的腿从短裙中延伸出来，柿子色的头发缠绕着藤蔓，从藤蔓上长出紫色蔷薇，以及只有在奇幻故事里才会登场的精灵式尖耳，在在显示她是魔法少女。

Shadowgale thought, the Magical Girls of this party seem to have a rule about revealing themselves all of a sudden.
暗影叶尔心想，这个队伍的魔法少女似乎有着必须突然现身于人前的规定。

“On our mountain, the strongest have the most status, and the weak are naught but fodder. Only the strong meh use the hunting grounds at will. I dinna say the strong could not use the hunting grounds.”
「在咱们山上最强的人丢系最有地位的，弱者丢送去当饲料。当然，只有强者卡矮当任意使用狩猎场。阮没说不让强者使用狩猎场呀。」

Shadowgale could not help but furrow her brows. She felt uneasy when she saw that Magical Girl. Was it because of her thick, foreign accent, or was it because of the strange calmness of her tone? Or was it because she had suddenly appeared out of an empty grass patch? Shadowgale looked to Masked Wonder, and noticed that she did not seem to care at all, merely stood with arms crossed, which also emphasized the size of her breasts.
暗影叶尔不禁皱眉。看到那位魔法少女令她的心情一阵不安，是那一口浓浓的外地腔的关系，还是因为对方的声音莫名冷静的关系呢？或是对方冷不防地从空无一人的草原上现身的关系？暗影叶尔看向玛丝克德汪达，发现她完全不在意，只是一动也不动地双手环胸，也因此特别强调胸部的巨大。

“Melly’s saying you’re strong, so you can hunt here ~su.”
「小梅尔是说『你们很强，所以可以在这里狩猎』啦。」

After hearing Lapis Lazuline translate, the girl who should have been Melly nodded with a “Nya”.”
听到菈彼丝蓝金莉汀的翻译，那位被称为小梅尔的少女则是「嗯呀」地点头。

“Ahh, see yuh again.”
「啊啊，再会！」

The green color of the girl grew more intense, blending with the swaying grass, and in the end she vanished.
少女身上的绿再度变得深浓起来，与随风摆动的草同化，最终消失不见。

Lapis Lazuline, on the other hand, ran up the gigantic Magical Girl’s body, and then stood on her shoulder once more.
拔彼丝•蓝金莉汀则是跑上巨大魔法少女的身体，再度站上她的肩头。

“Let’s meet again, seeya!”
「有缘再见，再会。」

Lapis Lazuline waved to them as the gigantic Magical Girl ran off, shaking the ground in the same way she had while making her entrance. Their forms gradually shrank, vanishing into the distant horizon. Shadowgale looked at Masked Wonder, who was still waving to them
站在与来时一样，咚咚咚地跑远的巨大魔法少女肩膀上的菈彼丝蓝金莉汀，挥了挥手。两人的身影越来越小，逐渐消失在地平线的另一端。暗影叶尔看向玛丝克德汪达，她也还挥着手。

After relating the events of yesterday, Pfle nodded gently. It had been three days since the game began, but Pfle’s composed attitude remained unclouded.
暗影叶尔一说完一天前发生的事情，普芙蕾便轻轻颔首。游戏开始已经经过三天，普芙蕾那过度从容的态度仍然没有笼罩阴影。

“She’s very small now, which means her Magic allows her to grow to giant size. Given that you need to lie low in the real world, it must be very hard to use. When in the game, she can ignore everyone else looking at her and expand as she wishes.”
「她现在很小只，也就是说是能够巨大化的魔法少女呀。在现实世界里必须掩人耳目，想必很难用吧。如果在游戏里面的话，就能够不在意他人视线，自由自在地变大了。」

“The sight of her made quite an impact. However, she’s not a match for me.”
「那副模样真的相当震撼。不过，她不会是我的对手。」

“Being able to vanish from sight… rather than becoming invisible, it sounds more like a visual effect derived from some form of optical camouflage. If it’s a matter of changing colors, then that should be it.”
「变得看不见，比起透明化……听起来似乎更接近光学迷彩的视觉效果。颜色会产生变化的话，应该就是这个了。」

“Well, that’s a handy Magic. However, she’s no match for me either.”
「还真是方便的魔法呀。不过，她当然不会是我的对手。」

“Indeed. To me, you are very strong. You possess the qualities of an enforcer of justice. Said qualities do not just cover powerful physical abilities or Magic, but also your personality.”

Masked Wonder;s face flushed red, and she seemed to be holding her nose a centimeter higher. Pfle knew very well how much she wanted others to praise her.
玛丝克德汪达脸颊上的红潮变得更浓，总觉得她的鼻子似乎翘高了一公分。普芙蕾非常清楚她希望别人如何称赞自己。

After they stared at each other for several seconds, she had no idea who made the first move, but they extended their right hands to each other and shook. “Ahhhh, I’m grateful to everyone for gathering here ~pon.”

A sound came from the Magical Phone. There was only one creature which Shadowgale knew would append ~pon to every sentence it uttered… was it a creature or some other entity? She took out her Magical Phone, and a holographic image floated above it.
魔法终端设备传出声音。说话时会在语尾轻浮地加上蹦字的生物，在暗影叶尔认知中仅有一人……一匹还是一具？拿出魔法终端设备将画面朝上，便浮现出立体影像。

The black and white spheroid floated lightly in the air, and it appeared from the Magical Phones of the other Magical Girls as well. Even the words it said were the same.
黑白两色的球体正轻飘飘地飘浮着，同时也从其他魔法少女持有的终端设备中浮现。说的话都一样。

“Today is the day you will all be logging out of the game. When the sun sets, you will all log out at the same time. After an estimated maintenance period of three days in the real world, you will log into the game again ~pon. The same schedule will repeat from today onwards, so please playtest the game ~pon.”
「今天就是登出游戏的日子了蹦。在太阳下山的时候，会同时登出。预计历经现实世界三天的维护期之后，会再重新登入游戏蹦。从今天起，会一直重复相同的行程，请各位测试游戏蹦。」

Fal spun lightly around, scattering golden sparkles which slowly settled.
法尔轻盈地横向旋转，金色的鳞粉飘散开来。

“Also, a special event will take place on the logout days. There are lucky and unlucky events, and one will be randomly selected ~pon. This time… hoho, my, my. This is quite a lucky event ~pon.There’s a message in the grasslands town for all of you, do you know of it? I’d like everyone to go to the location of the message in question ~pon. Before Fal could finish, Pfle was off to a rocket start, trailing dust in her wake. Several seconds later, the other Magical Girls went after her like a crushing avalanche. Shadowgale and the ones who were left behind watched them leave.
没等到法尔说完，普芙蕾便扬起尘土，以百米冲刺的速度冲了出去。停了几秒，其他的魔法少女才如雪崩般追赶在后。暗影叶尔与剩下的其他人一起目送着她们离去。

When Pfle--who had a massive speed advantage--actually started flying as well, everybody else could only eat her dust, and in the end she achieved an overwhelming victory by over a thousand horselengths.
在速度上占有极大优势的普芙蕾还飞行起来，其他人只能望尘莫及，最后推测她以超越千匹马身的距离获得压倒性的胜利。

After the event was over, Mamori breathed a sigh of relief that nobody had asked about why she had been flying. However, when she thought about how many others would use flight if a similar situation arose, Mamori’s heart went dark. It was always people like Pfle who set a bad example for others.
活动结束之后，没有人追究飞行的事情，不禁令护暗自松了一口气。但是，一想到之后如果还有类似的事件出现，一定会有复数以上的人用飞的，护的心情便灰暗了起来。开创这种不良先例的，无论何时都是普芙蕾这类型的人。

The special rare item which the winner received was a gold coin. Its front showed a girl raising a scepter which looked like a magic stick, while the back had a star emblem. It shed a golden radiance, and it was roughly the size of a 500 yen coin while being very weighty. She suspected that it might be pure gold, so she looked at it from all angles. Shadowgale did not possess any ability to appraise treasure, and she did not want to bite it in like they did in jidaigeki. She probably would not learn anything even if she did bite it.
获胜者得到的稀奇道具是一枚金币。表面上是高举着看似魔法权杖的少女，背面则是刻有星星记号，闪着金黄色的光芒、大约五百圆硬币大小，沉甸甸的。怀疑金币也许是纯金的，而左看右看上看下看。暗影叶尔并没有鉴定宝物的才能，也不想学历史剧般用咬的——即使咬了也还是看不出什么端倪吧。

“This is a Miracle Coin ~pon. With this, you can increase the enemy item drop rate ~pon.”
「这是奇迹金币蹦。只要拥有这个，敌人的道具掉落率就会稍微上升蹦。」

“Item drop rate? Do you mean there’ll be more Magical Candies?”
「道具掉落率？你是指魔法糖果的数量会增加吗？」

“Nonono. Some enemies will drop items other than Candies ~pon. Some enemies also have a slight chance of dropping super rare items ~pon. If you’re aiming for such rare items, this coin will be useful ~pon. To be precise, the drop rate will increase by five times ~pon.”
「不不不。一部分的敌人会掉出除了魔法糖果以外的道具蹦。其中也有以微乎其微的机率掉出超级稀奇道具的敌人蹦。如果你的目标是那样的稀奇道具，这枚金币就能够派上用场蹦。以具体的数字来说，掉落率会增加五倍之多蹦。」

Pfle transferred the item from her Magical Phone to Masked Wonder’s Magical Phone. And so, Masked Wonder’s Magical Phone’s inventory contained a Miracle Coin. The coin aside, neither the maps, herbs and Travel Permits could be used directly. They had to be added to the Magical Phone first before they could be used, which seemed to be a basic rule of the game’s items. By manipulating the inventory, one could take out a previously added item.
普芙蕾将道具从自己的魔法终端设备转移到玛丝克德汪达的终端设备。于是，玛丝克德汪达的魔法终端设备的道具栏里多了一项「奇迹金币」。不仅金币，就连地图、药草、通行证也都无法直接使用。首先，必须追加至魔法终端设备里才能使用，这一点似乎是这个游戏的道具基本规则。只要操作道具栏，就能拿出先前追加的道具。

“I’ll give the coin to Masked Wonder. Any objections?”
「金币就让玛丝克德汪达使用。没意见吧？」

She won’t listen even if I say no, Shadowgale thought. Naturally, she could not possibly deny her. Among them, Masked Wonder had scored the most finishing blows on the enemy.
就算说不行你明明也不打算听，暗影叶尔一边如此心想，当然她绝对不可能否决。在她们之中，拥有最多机会给予敌人最后一击的就是玛丝克德汪达。

“Rare items like these are hard to come by; it shall not go to waste. Look forward to it!”
「这可是难得到手的稀奇道具，我绝对不会白白浪费它。敬请期待吧！」

“What’s this about ~pon? Did Fal mishear things ~pon?”

Countless monitors were neatly lined up in the room, displaying images of various locations within the Magical Girl Raising Project, like the wilderness area, grasslands area, the towns, as well as scenes of as-yet unexplored areas.
房间里排列着无以数计的萤幕，「魔法少女育成计画」内各地方，如荒野区域、草原区域、城镇，再加上未开拓区域被固定式监视器所拍摄到的画面，整齐地排列开来。

The monitors were installed on the walls and positioned on the floors. They were not just placed to the left, right, front and rear, but even on the ceiling and the floor. They lit up the interior of the room.
有埋在墙壁里的、设置在地板上的等等，不仅是前后左右，甚至连天花板与地上都排列着萤幕，照亮房间内部。

“You didn’t mishear things--”
「你并没有听错什么事情——」

The girl was working on a Rubik’s cube. Unlike how it was normally done, she balanced one corner of the cube on her index finger, and then balanced it on her finger using her extraordinary sense of balance. Under the girl’s gaze, the Rubik’s cube turned at regular intervals, neatly matching up their colors by itself.

There were spectacles on the table, and the Magical Phone beside her was leaning on a monitor. The projection of Fal emerged, at an angle. The light of the stereoscopic image revealed dancing motes of dust in the air, which spoke volumes about the room’s cleanliness.

The image immediately went out of whack. It tilted, distorted, and it took a long time for it to recover. Even then, there was still some static noise in his image.

“That isn’t what we agreed on ~Pon. Nobody should have died. You clearly said injuries wouldn’t carry over to the real world!”

“None of the game’s concepts have changed.”
