- Basically, you got a console bar (or non-dropping drop-down terminal emulator, I guess).
- You type ls. A window opens (or maybe the non-dropping drop-down terminal emulator drops down to make room for the graphical interface), which contains a file manager. You type cd and the file manager moves to the folder that you selected. Type ls -l and you get list view. Interact with the file manager with your mouse and it shows your commands in the terminal emulator while it responds to them.
- The idea is to make GUI and CLI work together, instead of hiding the CLI in the cuckshed until the user realizes that they absolutely need it for a single thing and then relearn the commands every four months.
- Hiding the CLI is a fucking degenerate concept in terms of learning curve. It makes the OS really disjointed to use.
