Examined:
Of modest size for two occupants, this rustic bed offers a fine showcase for sturdy, no-nonsense
craftsmanship. Oiled pine boards hammered together by large black iron nails make up the heavy frame
of the bed, a straight headboard and thick body around the mattressmarketing on four stocky square
wooden feet, all making pleasant little creaking sounds when the bed is placed under strain. The
bedding itself is simple but cozy; a thin, stuffed mattress covered with linen sheets, and a small
pile of grey sheepskin blankets to weather the cold during winter.
