Once again, I return to Wallachia. Once again, I see the rise of evil in the form of . But this time is different. I'm not just missing one of my companions at the outset... I'm missing every single one of them. I know that Galatea had been basically slain at the outset the last time around, so it's anyone's guess as to what happened this time.

Apparently I wasn't good enough at killing Dracula before, if his cult is still around and is capable of pulling off something like this, but then again... perhaps the same can be said of all religions. Perhaps I am the opposing force in his cult's mythology, and my companions the equivalent of angels as opposed to their devils. Perhaps they thought they could weaken me by removing my support.

All they have done is strengthen my resolve to remove them before Dracula could be brought back to life again.

Though it's going to be a long decade. I may as well do some good in the world while I roam about, eradicating all the things that hide in the dark. Perhaps I shouldn't limit my efforts to just the European continent, either - I do after all have the resources to make my fight global.
