- >"GAH!"
- >Twilight twists one side, only to ruin the perfectly straight green side of the cube.
- >"Okay, maybe this way..."
- >This makes the orange side line up, but the remainder is a disorganized mess.
- >Twilight's face flushes in frustration.
- >Of all the things you had to bring with you from Earth, it was a Rubik's Cube.
- >You were giggling silently to yourself as the mare grew more frustrated over time.
- >She had roughly a dozen books open around her, all of them about solving puzzles.
- >Brain-Busters for Fillies, Puzzles 101, Advanced Riddles and Quizzes...
- >"Grrrr...Anon!"
- >You looked at her, grinning like a fool.
- "Yes?"
- >"No fair giving me an unsolvable puzzle!"
- >You shook your head, hand out.
- >Twilight nearly threw it at you, the cube coming to rest in your hand with quite a bit of force.
- >You looked at it, turned a few times...then showed her your handiwork.
- >A perfectly level cube, colors all on their correct sides.
- >"Wh...but, how!?" Twilight demanded, looking the cube over for signs of tampering.
- >You merely grinned as you mixed it back up.
- "My only hint: Any Rubik's Cube can be solved in 20 moves or less, from any combination."
- >You gave it back to the unicorn, and you could have sworn she was about to cry.
- >You then sat back into your chair and continued to watch the show.
- >The mare sat there all night, twisting the puzzle cube left and right.
- >She almost had it once or twice, before twisting it the wrong way and wrecking it again.
- >"CELESTIA DANG IT!" The mare roared, waking you up.
- "Twi, seriously, c'mon now." You said with a yawn.
- >"No, I have to get this!" She said, ignoring the growl her stomach just made.
- "Eat something first?"
- >"No." She replied, twisting it again.
- >One side solved, five more utterly ruined.
- >The concept of 'breaking' one side to fix them all hadn't occurred to her at any point throughout her puzzle solving.
- >The mare growled in anger, throwing the cube at you.
- >"To Tartarus with it, you win Anon!"
- >You sighed.
- "Twilight, watch."
- >She glared at you, then the cube.
- >You turned it twice to the left, three times up, once to the right, three more to the left...
- >And were left with a solved cube.
- "Twenty turns or *less*, Twi."
- >The mare burst into literal flames.
- >"HOW DID YOU DO THAT!?"
- >You leapt backwards, keeping the very-flammable chair between you and the mare.
- "I solved it?" You replied, confused. "You were thinking too much about it!"
- >She extinguished just as quickly, stomping down the stairs for a late night snack.
- >Twilight came back upstairs, sandwich in her magic aura.
- >She was pointedly ignoring both you and the cube.
- >"...mix it up again."
- "...what?"
- >"Mix it up again." She replied simply. "I'm going to solve this bucking thing."
- >You sighed, hiding it behind your back and randomly mixing it up.
- >You then gave the mare the randomized cube, which she took.
- >She scarfed down the sandwich, and put the cube on her nightstand.
- >"Later."
- >You sighed in relief, going down the stairs to your room.
- >"I still think you cheated, Anonymous!"
- >You simply laughed, settling in for bed.
- >You could hear her turning and twisting the cube all throughout the night.
