Louis' First Visions

For a time, there is naught but darkness.

Awareness, but nothing to be aware of.

You have a mouth, yet you cannot scream.

You have ears, but you cannot hear.

You have eyes, but you cannot see.

And then a blurry vision comes to focus and you find yourself in a cage, bereft of your equipment.

You begin to see flashes of things.

An elven man in "your" grasp.

You hear things.

Demands for someone named Rufinus to be brought to "you".

A claim that he "left on a diplomatic mission to the Najyee" some time ago.

Fury.

More darkness.

Flashes of the road west.

Flashes of battle, victorious.

And then, you, ever so tired, fall to sleep.

Darkness returns.
