- Couple Who Had Been Together for 67 Years Died Holding Each Others’ Hands. A Beautiful Love Story!
- Some say that nothing lasts forever, but I am a solid believer in the fact that for some, love lives on even after we’re gone.
- Love is a totally unexplainable feeling that brings two people together. Love will always find a way to bring them together until the end if they are really meant to be no matter what happens through their lives.
- Floyd and Violet Hartwig is an example of unending love. In Easton California, the lovers have known each other since they were children, they grew up together but they were separated when Floyd enlisted in the US navy after graduation. A couple of years had passed and the two met each other again and this time, they have been inseparable.
- The couple worked on their ranch diligently and they built a loving family. "They enjoyed working side by side their entire lives," said daughter Donna Scharton. "They were very loving. Very hard-working. Not into materialistic things."
- Happy years passed by, but as they advance in age, both of them grew weaker and had battled illnesses in recent years. Violet first became ill, she had dementia and had suffered strokes. Floyd, who survived bladder and colon cancer, had been diagnosed with kidney failure, family said.
- In the last weeks of their lives, Floyd and Violet had been given hospice care. Knowing that their end is near, their family members pushed their beds together, Donna said.
- They held their hands in their final moments and passed away hand in hand. Their children knew this is what their parents wanted all along.
- To show our love until the end is an amazing thing to do. The couple are indeed fortunate, they surely felt contented, happy, and loved before they passed away.
