  1. Oh howdy stranger, we don't see many folks round these parts
  2. The only time we get visitors is people passin' by on carts
  3.
  4. You think you know me, then you must be sorrily mistaken
  5. I'm just an old gal who runs a store, I can't even walk without shakin'
  6.
  7. Well shit goddamn, I haven't heard that name in years
  8. You do know who I am, how'd you find me way out here?
  9.
  10. You know what, it don't matter, I don't wanna know
  11. And if you've come here to kill me, then you better not be slow
  12.
  13. So you're not here to kill me? Then whatcha doin' here?
  14. Surely there's better places you coulda got a beer.
  15.
  16. Oh I get it now, you've heard the legends about me and my adventures
  17. And I know the one you wanna hear, is it true? Well get comfy, and I'll tell ya
  18.
  19. Not a damn word you've heard so far will be anythin' close to the truth
  20. I never told a single soul about what really happened in my youth
  21.
  22. You should think yourself lucky, I ain't never told a soul about the true story
  23. After that I just spent my life, with fame and bounty money
  24.
  25. Of course I was legendary bounty hunter, even before then
  26. But nobody I killed before was as hated or highly priced as him
  27.
  28. Darla "Darlin" Deadwood is the name is the nickname the Sherrifs called me
  29. But I fuckin hated Darlin, it's Deadwood or it's Darla
  30.
  31. I think they called me that because I'd usually bring em back alive
  32. I get they were criminals, but I don't think they deserved to die... well, some of em
  33.
  34. I was a crack shot and quick one, known for shootin people's hands
  35. I guess it was to prove my aim, and so they could never draw their guns again
  36.
  37. Anyway you know my name, and I know you wanna hear it.
  38. You wanna hear about how Darla, killed Marvin Michael Jarrett.
  39.
  40. He was the Mayor of Crantontown, and that was the situation.
  41. Powerful and ruthless, paid for his own private organization.
  42.
  43. The organization had no name but people called them The Noosers
  44. I'll let you guess why they called em' that, they were some real big mean bruisers.
  45.
  46. Jarrett raised the taxes higher and higher every day
  47. That's what The Noosers were for, in case you couldn't pay
  48.
  49. Now Jarrett was an asshole, and he'd never decline a duel
  50. He'd accept anyone that challenged him, and all of them were fools
  51.
  52. If you even dared to think about pullin your gun out on the street
  53. Either him or his boys would shoot ya, there was no way he could be beat.
  54.
  55. He never asked anyone to duel, they all asked him to fight
  56. Twenty one, dead and gone, much to his delight
  57.
  58. His draw was quicker than his bullet, and he never missed his mark.
  59. Each and every round he fired went right through the middle of the heart.
  60.
  61. Some thought he was a demon from hell, with the devil controlling his actions
  62. None of that was true at all, he just had some damn fuckin fine reactions
  63.
  64. Now you see everyone thought he had a secret, or he cheated
  65. How could one man duel twenty one and never once be beaten?
  66.
  67. Everyone called him a cheater and he needed to prove that he was right
  68. So one day he challenged me, for a legendary fight
  69.
  70. Like I said he never challenged anyone himself before
  71. He got the word around to draw me out, he called me "The Darlin' Whore"
  72.
  73. So there we stood in the shit and the mud, outside a Crantontown saloon
  74. We were just waitin for the bell to toll, only four minutes left until noon
  75.
  76. Word about this showdown had quickly gotten around
  77. Some folks came from miles just to see someone put this fucker in the ground
  78.
  79. Now of course if I drew early I'd be gunned down in the street
  80. All The Noosers were there so anythin funny, and I'd be dead as meat
  81.
  82. The bastard was sick and ruthless, he'd stab you just to get a kick
  83. I didn't care if I died right there, so long as I shot him in the dick
  84.
  85. "DARLA DARLIN DEADWOOD VS MAYOR JARRETT" read the posters
  86. like a fuckin boxin' match, but with no gloves, just guns and holsters
  87.
  88. "Ya ready over there... Darlin?" Jarrett yelled over
  89. "You better not blink asshole, because when you do it's gonna be over"
  90.
  91. Those were the only words we bothered to exchange
  92. And nobody calls me Darlin to my face, not if you know my fuckin name
  93.
  94. Silence fell completely, one minute until it was time to draw.
  95. His hand was a little shaky, and he could tell that I saw.
  96.
  97. He smirked the smile of a man thought the battle was already won.
  98. I returned the smile of a woman who knew exactly what was about to be done.
  99.
  100. Any moment now.
  101.
  102. Five
  103.
  104. Four
  105.
  106. Three
  107.
  108. Two
  109.
  110. One
  111.
  112. The bell rang it's toll and for a moment it seemed like time had slowed down to a crawl
  113. I reached for my pistol and he reached for his, the window of oppourtunity was small
  114.
  115. I whipped out my gun quicker than him and fired before he knew it
  116. He had his oppourtunity, and along with his head, I blew it
  117.
  118. For a moment there was silence, then once all the tension had cleared
  119. The crowd looked at me in awe, and everyone clapped and cheered
  120.
  121. Finally someone had beaten that tyranical dictator
  122. But you see the girl you're lookin at, well the one who did it, ain't her
  123.
  124. We whipped out our guns and fired almost exactly at the same time
  125. However chance would have it, his was draw was slightly quicker than mine
  126.
  127. I fired my shot what looked like first, however I only fired a blank
  128. The real bullet from the rifle in the bell tower, fired by my darlin, Karla Banks
  129.
  130. Ya see I had my dear Karla go up there a day in advance
  131. She waited up there with her rifle, and controlled when the bell rang
