  1. My Statement
  2.
  3. I’m writing this in regards to Deb’s statement today about the events of SGDQ 2014. My intention in writing of this is to be as absolutely transparent as possible, and shed light on the events that transpired. I would like to add that this was six years ago, and I’m writing this based off of my recollection of the events.

  5. AGDQ and SGDQ, otherwise known as Awesome Games Done Quick and Summer Games Done Quick respectively, is a 7 day long event inside a hotel venue where speed runners across the community gather to help raise money for charity. The attendees of these events usually stay 3-4 to a room for the entire duration of the event. SGDQ 2014 was my second GDQ, AGDQ2014 being my first. I was 20 year olds. I had flown out on day 0. I did not room with Stivitybobo, instead rooming with SpikeVegeta, Almo, UberGoos and MuffinQt. During day 3, in the evening time, I had gone to Stiv’s room after drinking prior, and consumed more alcohol with Stiv, GiantWaffle, Hyper, and Deb. During this time period, while we were both intoxicated, we kissed. This happened before the accusations against GiantWaffle and Stiv occurred. We continued to drink more, played video games for a short while, and then I needed to go purchase cigarettes. Stiv, Deb, and Hyper came with me as I walked to the store. I made my purchases, and then I recall going back to the hotel, and then smoked a cigarette while they went back to the room we were drinking in, where GiantWaffle remained. I then went back to my hotel room to go to sleep, and did not see them for the rest of the evening.

  7. The next day, I remember seeing Stiv and Deb at free breakfast. I didn’t see Stiv or Deb the rest of that day. I spent the day strolling the GDQ venue, and spending time with other friends.

  9. Thursday morning at 6am, Sam had left to go back to Utah, driving home and leaving Deb in Colorado. He did not announce his departure, nor the reason for his departure. I was informed of his leaving by Stiv. Stiv and Tolki began spending a lot of time together during the duration of the event thereafter. This included getting food outside the venue in which I saw them physically leave together, I would occasionally see them together at free breakfast, I would also see them throughout the GDQ venue rooms like the practice room, and the casual room which I usually strolled through or hung out in with other groups, or mingled with individual friends. Sometime after Thursday, I hung out with Stiv and Deb in the casual room, and then the hotels pool, in which Hyper and I were present in addition with Stiv, GiantWaffle, and Deb. During this 7 day event, closer to the end near days 4, 5, 6, and 7, I hung out with Hyper privately a few times, and played video games in both his hotel room and the casual room, while Stiv and Tolki were elsewhere hanging out. I do not know the reason they were hanging out. I remember Hyper and I hanging out away from the hotel room a few times because Stiv occasionally slept at strange hours, sometimes during the day.

  11. I was made aware of the sexual interaction between Stiv and Deb while I was at the event at day 6. I did not question further, and received no further information, and had no other interactions with GiantWaffle, Deb, and Stiv together for the duration of the event. The event ended on the 7th day, and I flew back home from Colorado the next morning. A few days after the event, Stiv came to me privately and told me he felt incredibly guilty about what had happened. He told me he was thinking of writing a pastebin. The pastebin he wrote was this (https://pastebin.com/6JmhEriM).
  12.
  13. During the duration of SGDQ2014, and for the next 6 years after, I believed that everything that had happened between Stiv and Deb was consensual. I was told it was consensual and I chose not to question my friend’s sexual life. I had believed that it was a marriage broken. I am horrified to find that it is more. I am so deeply sad for the pain that Deb has endured. I am sorry for kissing you while you were drunk - it was not okay. I was not aware that what had transpired between her and I was part of something much larger that has haunted her for 6 years, and I wish I had known earlier. Her coming forward is incredibly brave, and I believe her.
