- [6/27/15, 12:47:20 PM] Ashley (Alivi): For Cas at least
- [6/27/15, 12:47:22 PM] Ashley (Alivi): i feel like
- [6/27/15, 12:47:32 PM] Ashley (Alivi): ((this is testy))
- [6/27/15, 12:47:48 PM] Ashley (Alivi): but the royal families of Constellations or families with connections/help of the constellations lived longer.
- [6/27/15, 12:48:05 PM] Ashley (Alivi): And when it was time for them to die there was something to do with that constellation
- [6/27/15, 12:48:44 PM] Ashley (Alivi): either the constellation letting them know the next generation was ready to take over etc... which is why Cas grew normally and the rest of them aged normally when the golden age was around
- [6/27/15, 12:48:53 PM] Ashley (Alivi): but afterwards there was a broken/disconnect between that.
- [6/27/15, 12:49:11 PM] Ashley (Alivi): because of the attacks
- [6/27/15, 12:49:28 PM] Sarah A- Spotteh: So the constellations controlled the aging process of the royal families and when they died the aging stopped?
- [6/27/15, 12:49:55 PM] Ashley (Alivi): sorta?
- [6/27/15, 12:50:02 PM] Ashley (Alivi): its rocky
- [6/27/15, 12:50:40 PM] Ashley (Alivi): but I mean it would explain why Emily Jane continued to age slightly before she too stopped.
- [6/27/15, 12:50:55 PM] Ashley (Alivi): I feel like it followed a normal cycle
- [6/27/15, 12:51:20 PM] Ashley (Alivi): before becoming shattered
- [6/27/15, 12:55:15 PM] Sarah A- Spotteh: What it could be is that the constellations actually gave the heads of the royal families a portion of their power, stopping their aging process and granting them powers in correspondence to the constellation
- [6/27/15, 12:55:39 PM] Ashley (Alivi): ooo
- [6/27/15, 12:55:50 PM] Ashley (Alivi): which is why Cancerians were taught sailing etc
- [6/27/15, 12:56:07 PM] Sarah A- Spotteh: Of course, there would be some children, such as the Leo brothers, that possessed a natural ability to begin with and would then be amplified in the future
- [6/27/15, 12:56:08 PM] Ashley (Alivi): and the relic from Cancer was those two blades that gave those special abilities to those who needed them
- [6/27/15, 12:56:14 PM] Ashley (Alivi): yea
- [6/27/15, 12:56:16 PM] Sarah A- Spotteh: Yes
- [6/27/15, 12:56:42 PM] Sarah A- Spotteh: The process was likely long as shoving that much foreign energy into a body could be dangerous
- [6/27/15, 12:57:41 PM] Ashley (Alivi): exactly
- [6/27/15, 12:59:43 PM] Sarah A- Spotteh: As a result, it turned into a series of quiet ceremonies that slowly transferred the energy to the recipients. First starting with a decrease in aging, to a complete stop of the aging process and added energy for magical use and then to full fledged whatever. The first ceremony might have begun at the same time whoever it was became of age according to the culture, the final the night they were corrinated or brought in as head of the family
- [6/27/15, 1:00:26 PM] Sarah A- Spotteh: Since it was a more gradual process, it wouldn't have been as noticeable to others and the royals would likely want to keep it that way
- [6/27/15, 1:00:57 PM] Ashley (Alivi): possibly
- [6/27/15, 1:01:00 PM] Sarah A- Spotteh: If the lower classes knew that so much power was being granted to the royal class, there may have been issues including rebelion
- [6/27/15, 1:01:11 PM] Ashley (Alivi): well and I would like to think
- [6/27/15, 1:01:15 PM] Ashley (Alivi): the constellations wouldnt give it
- [6/27/15, 1:01:25 PM] Ashley (Alivi): unless they knew that the royal familes were going to be responsible
- [6/27/15, 1:01:28 PM] Ashley (Alivi): and true leaders
- [6/27/15, 1:01:33 PM] Sarah A- Spotteh: Well of course
- [6/27/15, 1:02:31 PM] Sarah A- Spotteh: There was probably a meeting between the constellation and the family to decide which of the heirs would be chosen. So sometimes it would be the first born, other times it would be the fourth. And if the one initially chosen died for some unforeseen reason, they would have to choose a new one
- [6/27/15, 1:02:55 PM] Sarah A- Spotteh: Would have created a bit of an age range among the heads
- [6/27/15, 1:03:18 PM] Ashley (Alivi): yup
- [6/27/15, 1:04:19 PM] Sarah A- Spotteh: There's also the question of if the royal families knew exactly what the constellations were doing or if they decided to keep it a bit of a secret. I kind of have the feeling that the constellations were very secretive except for the select few considering that Typhan didn't begin teaching Emily Jane magic until after he had adopted her
- [6/27/15, 1:04:42 PM] Ashley (Alivi): its plausble
- [6/27/15, 1:04:56 PM] Ashley (Alivi): i have a feeling after awhile outside the first and second generations
- [6/27/15, 1:04:58 PM] Ashley (Alivi): the latter ones just...
- [6/27/15, 1:05:01 PM] Ashley (Alivi): it was a tradition
- [6/27/15, 1:05:08 PM] Ashley (Alivi): not questioned...not dug down
- [6/27/15, 1:05:11 PM] Ashley (Alivi): but this is how it is done
- [6/27/15, 1:05:17 PM] Sarah A- Spotteh: *nods*
- [6/27/15, 1:06:40 PM] Sarah A- Spotteh: Which would create an interesting situation between Cas and Emily. Typhan told Emily all sorts of things while she was with him and did something similar to her as well. He gave her a very small portion of his power to help along what she already had so she could learn more faster. I think he had more plans for her but they were never able to reach them because of the argument
- [6/27/15, 1:06:55 PM] Sarah A- Spotteh: Anyways, it's likely that Emily knows why Cas can live so long even if he doesn't
- [6/27/15, 1:07:52 PM] Ashley (Alivi): yea
- [6/27/15, 1:08:19 PM] Ashley (Alivi): I am sure that there were things Cancer wanted to do with Caspian but like you said the attack stopped whatever tradition or abilities he was/would be able to gain
- [6/27/15, 1:08:48 PM] Ashley (Alivi): It might be the reason why the blades gave him the abiltiy to manipulate ice and water during the fight with the nightmares before his family was killed
- [6/27/15, 1:08:59 PM] Ashley (Alivi): the last kinda thing
- [6/27/15, 1:09:01 PM] Sarah A- Spotteh: *nods*
- [6/27/15, 1:09:09 PM] Ashley (Alivi): WE CREATED A BETTER HEADCANONWAAT
- [6/27/15, 1:09:22 PM] Sarah A- Spotteh: And if he ever wandered that out loud near Emily, she'd just be like 'oh here's why'
- [6/27/15, 1:09:28 PM] Sarah A- Spotteh: YES WE DID
- [6/27/15, 1:09:34 PM] Sarah A- Spotteh: THIS IS WHY I LIKE TALKING TO PEOPLE ABOUT THIS STUFF
- [6/27/15, 1:11:14 PM] Sarah A- Spotteh: That being said, Emily's immortality does not come from the process that Caspian's does. Typhan didn't give her enough power to slow down her aging process. He only gave her enough to give her a little boost in her studies. Her immortality comes from her time in the star. But Im trying to figure out the specifics of it and how it has affected her physically and what other repercussions those changes might have
