Ragnorra Session 55

Start: 3 am, Saturday, Eleasis 6, 1396

Heading west on the crossroads, the party found the remains of a battle. It appeared to be recent, with few friendly casualties or wounded. It appeared to be the aftermath of a battle between the forces of Aris and the swamp creatures. Furthermore, both sides of the path were trapped with pitfall traps. Some of them had been used.

They proceeded on to Aris. After submitting to a check of their bodies, they were allowed entry. Aris was modestly sized but well fortified.

Inside, Ronja and Jinx did some shopping. Cassius, Vix, Lilly, and Zira checked in to rooms at the Mire's End, an inn.

Following rumors, Cassius found almost all trade in and out of Aris comes from the east. Assaults recently have petered out, and people think the cult is getting ready for a final assault. The towns to the south have been swallowed up by the swamp recently, and people in Aris are on edge. The local war wizard commander, an import from Suzail named Issac Darkwater, has been planning an assault on the Well of the Dragons and is hiring any available mercenaries for a counterassault against the cult, before they have their army ready.

Furthermore, it was decuded Issac Darkwater either has a ton of wealth, is funded from an outside source, or does not intend to pay the mercenaries. This has further enflamed rumors surrounding the controversial man.

Ronja recalled Lundeth is a collection of small huts on the edge of the anaroch desert. Thandril, likewise, is a small village between the foothills and the desert.

Passing by the armory, Cassius noticed some starmetal arms and armor were included with the general use weaponry.

Following the Tunwash upstream, the party scouted into the river's source with Mary. Mary saw the carcass of a dream larva, semi-reanimated and corrupted, polluting the water source. Seven neolithids were set to patrol the area.

Cassius hatched a plan to assault the corruption. He flooded the chamber with his force walls, forcing the neolithids out. Then using the force walls, forced his way inside to the source, with the rest of the party in tow.

The party did battle with the neolithids.

The dream larva corpse was decursed, skinned, then the remains were burned in a pyre.

The water source is still faintly corrupted, although the vast majority of the corruption has slowed down.

The neolithid brains were harvested and preserved.

On the mountaintops, there appear to be swamp creatures, former villagers, and what appear to be myconids.

It is unclear what will happen to the mountaintops if all the corruption is removed.
