  1. The moment I think when Kira transitions from being a good villain into a great one is after he adjusts to a new situation, and there are

  3. reasons why I think so.

  9. Internal conflict is part of what makes a character feel more human and relatable. It is what marks more fleshed out characters from flatter ones. It is why we gain respect for Whamu when he decide to conserve the bubble even if Caesar didn't take the antidote by winning.

  11. Each of us has multiple desires that come into conflict on a daily basis. We face a dilemma, a choice between two different, but equally attractive options. In my case it's should I play this Visual Novel with anime tiddies, or should I play this visual novel with good story. Here Kira faces the internal conflict of a. fulfilling his hand fetish and b. staying under the radar.

  13. One of the reasons why the minor villains in part 3 aren't as good as Kira is because of this sense of internal conflict. Most other villains don't have sufficient internal conflict because most of their thought patterns seems to be "Dio is the second coming of Christ so I must kill Joseph". One of my favorite minor villains in part 3 is D'Arby because he's fighting Joseph because out of respect for Dio, but out of his pride as a gambler. He faces internal conflict when he has to decide whether to tell Dio's name or not in the card game.
  14.
  15. I'm not saying that internal conflict is what determines whether a villain is good or bad, however, it's what makes one more psychologically complex. My favorite villain in part 3 is Vanilla Ice, and it's not because of his complexity.
