  1. Welcome to TDD: The Challenge! This TDD is based off MTV's long running reality competition show The Challenge, and I have designed it to be a grueling showdown of intellect and strategy. The source material uses a different format for each season, and you will be getting a taste of that this TDD, as the format I have planned implements aspects that I liked from several different seasons of the show. Here's a rundown of how things will work in the most brutal TDD to date:
  2.
  3. 1. Each round will begin with a challenge called the Mission. (I'd call them the "Dailies" so as to use MTV nomenclature, but some of them will take several days and I don't want it to get confusing.) These Missions will be played individually and everyone left in the game will participate in them. These challenges will generally be games of skill and/or strategy, with many favoring those who can cooperate or betray their fellow competitors.
  4.
  5. 2. Following the Mission, the winner will earn a non-transferable item called a Blue Skull, the exact purpose of which will be explained later in the game. They will also begin the voting process for the season, known as the Chain. The winner will pick one person to add to the Chain, who will then pick another person, and the process will continue until one person is left out.
  6.
  7. 3. That remaining person is guaranteed to enter the second challenge of each round, known as the Killing Floor, which is a one-on-one duel to remain in the game. Their opponent will be anyone of their choice excluding the winner of the previous Mission.
  8.
  9. 4. The Killing Floors will generally be tests of knowledge or quick puzzle solving skills, and are all designed to take place live and finish in a short time period. (Given that we are mostly working adults now, no promises on this actually panning out.) Regardless, the winner of the Killing Floor will earn another item called a Red Skull, and their opponent will be eliminated from the game.
  10.
  11. 5. No person can possess more than one Skull at a time. If someone who already has a Skull wins a Mission or Killing Floor, they must grant one of their Skulls to another person in the game who does not have one. If someone who already has a Skull is eliminated, then the winner of the Killing Floor will choose who gets the eliminated person's Skull.
  12.
  13. 6. This format will shift to an undisclosed degree after three Blue Skulls and three Red Skulls have been distributed. It is also at this time that I will reveal the function of the Skulls.
  14.
  15. 7. Unlike past TDDs, there will be no additional items or advantages, hidden or otherwise, in play. You can only survive through your challenge skills and social strategy!
