  1. Magic in Corius.
  2.
  3. Magic is in essence, a simple process, although it's intricacies are complex on their own. Magic, put simply comes in three basic components.
  4.
  5. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  6.
  7. Fuel, which is what powers the magic. Fuel is simply the source of energy used to power spells. There currently exist, four types of Fuel: Dream-Force, Chaos Force, Anki's Fire and Spirits.
  8.
  9. Dream-Force is the most readily present, and the one people mostly use, it is something that humans generate passively or actively, and that is found in the environment, as well as within most living beings, in trace amounts. Daemons are made entirely of it.
  10.
  11. Chaos Force possesses the same attributes as Dream-Force, but is less ubiquitous. It also possesses the ability to transform Dream-Force it comes in contact with, into more Chaos Force, although for the process to start, a certain amount of Chaos Force is required.
  12.
  13. Anki's Fire is similar to normal fire, in nature, it spreads and it burns, and is very hot. It can only be wielded in it's raw state, by the Watchers, however this is a very rare occurrence. Anki's Fire makes up and powers the Watchers, who use their magic through it.
  14.
  15. Spirits are a poorly understood source of Fuel. It is related to a function performed by the Nameless Ancient, called the Culling, and as a power, is meant to belong to Shades alone. Unfortunately, it is shared by those who tamper with this forbidden power too.
  16.
  17. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  18.
  19. Schools, which are three, each fundamentally different from the other. What constitutes a school is a definition of magic, by which the school tends to grow from. More on them here:
  20.
  21. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  22.
  23. Spells, which exist once the user manages to form his own type of magic, under one of the three schools. The spells a person has available, are expressions of the power and capacity of his specific magic, either inherited or taught, or invented. Spells are also a point of contention, some choosing to have a large number of rigid spells, memorized and perfected, whereas others found their magic on looser principles, that allow for improvisation.
  24.
  25. However, dream force is fickle, and someone of faint will (or even someone of strong will, under the wrong circumstances) may find themselves overwhelmed, and defenseless.
