  1. upload temperature_calibration to 2 hexbrights (both ungreased)
  2.
  3. - relative calibration to account for variation in individual sensors (optional)
  4.
  5. Avoid touching the flashlights as much as possible during testing. I'd probably run these tests with the lights unplugged, too.
  6.
  7. 1. Cover everything but the tailcap of both flashlights with a towel for 30 minutes. This is to get both flashlights to the same temperature and reduce differences due to air currents.
  8. 2. Read the leds, and write down this number. These are your initial readings.
  9. 3. Turn on both flashlights by pressing the rear button (at the same time, if possible)
  10. 4. Leave both lights under the towel for 10 minutes? The specific time doesn't matter, we just don't want overheat protection kicking in, which happens at 320. If either flashlight gets above 310, it's probably time to write down the values.
  11. 5. Write down both values, starting with the first flashlight.
  12. 6. Write down both values, starting with the second flashlight (to account for different thermal values due to the time taken while reading).
  13. 7. Write down the duration the lights were on (not strictly necessary, but it's interesting information)
  14. 8. Average values from 5 and 6 for two final readings
  15. 9. Turn off both lights.
  16.
  17.
  18. - actual test
  19.
  20. Same as the calibration procedure, but with one light greased.
  21.
  22.
  23. - interpreting the results
  24.
  25. Use the calibration data to say
  26. calculate the response slope for the calibration data.
  27. ungreased characteristics: (calibration_final-calibration_initial)/(test_final-test_initial)
  28. greased characteristics: (calibration_final-calibration_initial)/(test_final-test_initial)
