  2.
  3. >A day had passed since the battle at the theater, and your school day was coming to an end. You listened to a group of people talk at a nearby table as you sat and waited for the bell to ring.
  4. >"Did you hear about those attacks yesterday?"
  5. >"Yeah! Usually the police stop them, but they're getting tougher! Luckily those weird guys showed up."
  6. >"Oh, those robots or whatever?"
  7. >"Yeah, the colorful ones."
  8. >"I don't think they're robots, their movements are too... movey, ya know?"
  9. >"Yeah, I gotcha. Oh, check this out, I got a video off of Twatter of the green one and the pink one after they beat up the ones downtown!"
  10. >You sneak a peak out of the corner of your eye at the phone screen.
  11. >The clip was taken from inside of a car, and featured you on Natsuki's back jetting through traffic and right by the cameraman's vehicle, trailing custard like some sort of strange yellow-pink-green comet.
  12. >You suppressed a smile; you were famous, and all it took was getting covered in pie-filling with your clubmate!
  13. >But the world wasn't ready for your secret identity to be revealed. If the villains knew about your real identity, then they could attack you directly, or plot an ambush!
  14. >At least, that's what Monika said when you asked after meeting back up last night outside the diner. You weren't even aware there was some sort of secret plot going on, and it didn't seem like she knew their intentions either.
  15. >After regrouping, you discussed the battles. Sayori and Yuri's went well, and you and Natsuki were happy to report your prize. Sayori was jealous, but Yuri and Monika seemed happy for you. Monika also announced that club was cancelled tomorrow due to some other matters, and disbanded the party.
  16. >Discussion over with, you turned to leave with both Natsuki and Yuri while Sayori stayed behind to speak with Monika.
  17. >Yuri asked if you could help her carry home some materials for a project that she had due in another class today, and you agreed to help. Natsuki, on the other hand, talked about movies that had come out recently, suggesting that you catch one together some time. You said you'd consider it.
  18. >Playing the events back in your head, you realized the connotations. Was she asking you on a date?
  19. >Fuck, you may have hopped into the Common Writer role quickly, but you weren't even sure if you liked her like that!
  20. >But she was kinda cute. But then again, all the other girls were cute, too. You felt the skin on your face light ablaze as you thought.
  21. >The spaghetti in your pockets settled as the bell rang, snapping you back into the reality of things. Now was not the time for dating cute pinkus, now was the time for carrying home things for cute purps.
  22. >Fuck! They're your fellow Writers at the moment, and you can't worry about relationships while weird monsters are all over the place!
  23. >You force the thought out of your head, and leave the classroom to go and meet Yuri at her locker.
  24. >There, you see the purple one getting her bags out of the receptacle, as well as an impressive papier-mache volcano on the ground next to her.
  25. "Heya, Yuri!" You say with a wave.
  26. >"O-oh, hi, Anon." She says, turning to you while putting her backpack on. She picked her purse out of the locker, then shut it closed with a click.
  27. "So, is this what you needed me to carry?" You pointed down to the volcano.
  28. >"Yes, that's it."
  29. "Gotcha." You bent down, and picked it up. It was deceptively heavy, but with the strength of one above average high school boy, you heaved it to a comfortable position. "You ready?"
  30. >"Yeah, follow me." She began walking through the halls, and you followed.
  31.
  32. >Out of the building and on the way to her house, you try to think of something to strike up a conversation with her. You hadn't really figured her out yet.
  33. "Hey, what's this project even for, anyway?" You say, walking on a path through a park.
  34. >"I-it's for geology lab." She answers.
  35. "Neat. Oo, what are these buttons for?" You say, hand grazing over a couple of buttons on the base.
  36. >"One of them simulates what happens if an eruption were to occur, and another vacuums all of the liquid back into the volcano through holes at the base and into a compressed chamber to set it up for another eruption."
  37. "Wow, you gotta show me that! Can't believe they sell kits that do all of that."
  38. >"They don't, I had to research the wiring myself."
  39. "Really? Damn, you're smart. I wouldn't even think to do something like that!" You look down at the volcano, taking note of the holes surrounding the bottom. Looking back up to the girl you were following, you saw her looking back at you with a smile on her face, as well as flushed cheeks.
  40. >"Thank you, Anon." She turned back forward and continued.
  41. >A breeze blew past, and chilled you to the bone. You wished you had brought a jacket, when you saw Yuri shivering too through her long sleeved shirt.
  42. >Looking to the sky, you noticed it was full of clouds. Strange, the forecast called for sun. Wait, why would you have brought a jacket? It's late summer.
  43. >"Anon, I think we're under attack."
  44. "It's probably just some weird weather."
  45. >"No, I recognize this. Look over there." She pointed out into the park. You saw a bunch of yellow flowers, a few trees, and a pond.
  46. "You recognize this? Oh, are your powers psychic? That'd be really cool!"
  47. >"No, they aren't. But this is an odd situation, and it fits perfectly with Daffodils by William Wordsworth."
  48. "... What?"
  49. >"All the Shashairi I've encountered have been based on poems, and this is no different. Let's transform, just to be s-"
  50. >The breeze manifested into a cloud, and punched you in the gut, which made you double over. It dissipated into the breeze, and the winds howled.
  51. >"Anon! Are you okay?" The purple Doki knelt by you.
  52. "Yeah, I'm fine. Looks like you were right. Let's go!" You sat the volcano aside.
  53. >You stood up quickly next to her, and she followed suit. Flipping the pen between your fingers, you glanced over and saw her simply lift the pen beside her head, click it in, and slam it into her belt.
  54. >"Henshin!" The two of you called out.
  55. >"A C C L I M!" Your belt sounded.
  56. >"L I G H T!" Hers responded.
  57. >In a flash of green and purple, the two of you were transformed. You in your normal suit, her in hers.
  58. >Blue-green accents complimented purple armor, with a horizontal line through the center of her chest. Atop that line sat an amber heart, and above that sat her helmet. Same deal; black visor, purple eyes, metallic hair.
  59. >Her skirt tattered, broken, and translucent, her legs continued downward but failed to touch ground.
  60. "Woah, you can fly?"
  61. >"A bit more than that. Lure it out!" Suddenly the purple Writer shifted into a blue-green Writer, mostly transparent, who flew inside of your body.
  62. "What the fuc-uh, look at me, I'm helpless!" You felt cold, and yet, warm. Standing around and looking like easy bait was your job, and you took to it well.
  63. >Sure enough, the breeze manifested once more into a fist at your back, and the winds howled once more.
  64. >However, these howls were of agony. Looking back over your shoulder, you saw a hand outstretched from your spine, wielding a blade.
  65. "Holy shit, Yuri!" The blade went transparent, and retreated into your body.
  66. >This went on for a few more blows; the beast would retreat, strike, and be countered perfectly every time. You noticed a different hand every now and again; she was dual-wielding!
  67. >Suddenly, it's tactic changed. The wind howled more furiously, and swirled around you.
  68. >Yuri exited your body, giving you another chill.
  69. >"I think it's gearing up for something, but I don't know what!" She yelled over the winds. "It might be making a tornado to launch us into the sky!"
  70. "What can we do? Just hit it?"
  71. >"No! Such trivial tactics don't work against everything!"
  72. "Well, jeez, I don't know! Usually when something hurts me I just suck it up and hit it back twice as ha-" You stopped, dead in your tracks.
  73. >"You what?"
  74. "Say, Yuri, you wired this thing up right, right?" You say, picking up the volcano.
  75. >"Yeah, it should be good to go, just needs the liquid! But why do you want to know that?"
  76. "Even if I can't adapt other things..."
  77. >Pointing the volcano base up, you slam your fist into the vacuum button.
  78. "I can still adapt to the situation!"
  79. >An exclamation of surprise gets out of your partner as you flip around like a mad cunt, vacuuming up the wind monster by following the howls through the air.
  80. >Eventually the howls stopped, save for one very muffled one from deep within the papier-mache volcano's core.
  81. "Now, Yuri! With those knives of yours, hit it twice as hard!" You say, slamming the thing on the ground as easily as you could.
  82. >She rears back with both arms, and plunges her weapons into the core of the volcano repeatedly. As she does so, the howling turns into a yelp, and the volcano erupts in a burst of alphabetical letters.
  83. >Retrieving her weapons, you notice a few huge gashs in the side of the creation.
  84. "You know, I was thinking you would just... like, ghost the knives in."
  85. >"Oh, uh." Her helmet looks off to the side, as if embarrassed. "I guess I just got caught up in the moment."
  86. "I'll say! But hey, that was great!" You stood up, and patted her on the back, your hand going through the portion of hair that extended past her shoulders. Guess she ghosted that too for freedom of movement!
  87. >"Thanks. You know, that was pretty smart of you to vacuum it up like that."
  88. "Well, ya know." You shrug. "I was just lucky that you had that with you." You put a hand on her shoulder. "Now, let's get this back to your place. Looks like we're gonna need to patch it up if you're gonna turn it in!"
  89. >"You'd help me with that?" Her demeanor lit up, as if taken aback.
  90. "Well, yeah? It kinda got broke because of me. Plus, I get to hang out with a friend! I mean, I don't have to if you don't want me to..."
  91. >"No, that sounds good!" She took her pen out of her driver, and transformed back, smiling. You did the same, and picked up the corpse of Mr. Volcano. Continuing on your way, you walked on into the future, thinking about how 'Ghost' would probably make a better name for her Writer form.
  92. >Something felt off, though. You felt the urge to look back, and thus, you did. There, at the other end of the park, was someone else.
  93. >Someone metallic, with bright green eyes.
  94. >You blinked, and they were gone.
  95. >"Anon? Are you coming?"
  96. "Huh? Yeah, just thought I saw something." You shake your head clear, and continue walking.
  97. >Now was not the time for worrying. Now was the time for volcano repair.
