  1. The process involves Vertex Animation toolset in 3ds Max.
  2. Please refer to these links and you'll be ready to go!
  3. Please read it carefully as it contains a lot of information as how this process goes.

  6.
  7. Basically the process is like this:
  8. • Create mesh
  9. • Create animation for the mesh
  10. • Open Vertex Animation Tool in 3DS Max
  11. • Select the animated mesh and use the tool to export the .exr and .bmp files.
  12. • Export the newly created mesh by the tool, and import it into Unreal
  13. • Import the mesh and the .exr and .bmp files into Unreal (FOLLOW INSTRUCTIONS ON THE DOCUMENTATION PAGE!!)
  14. • With your newly imported mesh, open it inside Unreal and do the required modifications also written in the documentation (check full precision UV's and set distance field to 0)
  15. • Open the material assigned to the dancing girl
  16. • Replace the .exr with the newly exported .exr
  17. • Replace the .bmp with the newly exported .bmp
  18. • Still inside the material, don't forget to set the number of keyframes, your animation have.
  19. • Apply it to the new mesh
  20. • It should now work.
  21. If you have any further questions, you can contact me any time, but please make sure you send screenshots or at least explain the problem thoroughly.
