- Basically the process is like this:
- • Create mesh
- • Create animation for the mesh
- • Open Vertex Animation Tool in 3DS Max
- • Select the animated mesh and use the tool to export the .exr and .bmp files.
- • Export the newly created mesh by the tool, and import it into Unreal
- • Import the mesh and the .exr and .bmp files into Unreal (FOLLOW INSTRUCTIONS ON THE DOCUMENTATION PAGE!!)
- • With your newly imported mesh, open it inside Unreal and do the required modifications also written in the documentation (check full precision UV's and set distance field to 0)
- • Open the material assigned to the dancing girl
- • Replace the .exr with the newly exported .exr
- • Replace the .bmp with the newly exported .bmp
- • Still inside the material, don't forget to set the number of keyframes, your animation have.
- • Apply it to the new mesh
- • It should now work.
- If you have any further questions, you can contact me any time, but please make sure you send screenshots or at least explain the problem thoroughly.
