  1. - I am against killing poor creatures of nature, which is why I'm Vegan!
  2. (plus a common comeback to someone who thinks eating meat is natural: "Did god tell you that?)
  3.
  4.
  5. Sure, don't kill nature, I'd love to. Sadly, you have to in order to survive. Every species does it and you do it too! When you buy your amazing vegan meals, do you harvest the plants yourself? 'cause if you do you're killing them [they are living organisms, part of nature and they DO feel pain (and fear, and much more..), like every other organism you criticize us for eating] and the blood is on your hands and, you know, we need to reconsider this whole killing nature thing like you said (meaning we all, you included, should starve to dearth). On the other hand, if you don't kill it yourself, well, you're enjoying your vegan meal without all of the blood in your hands [which is actually sap (Phloem sap, Xylem sap)]. My point is WHATEVER you eat, you'll be killing living organisms with the capability of feeling pain. If you want to avoid killing nature in order to survive, the only solution is to starve to death [technically the only solution is for you to kill yourself, since even if you starve to death your body will start digesting itself (autophagy) and that's technically killing living cells].

  7. As a side note in response to "Did God tell you that?" It in fact did! Well, it depends on your religion I guess: `And the Lord spoke to Moses and Aaron, saying to them, "Speak to the people of Israel, saying, These are the living things that you may eat among all the animals that are on the earth."` (Leviticus 11:1-47). I'm an atheist but this could be of interest to someone.

  10. If you feel more emotionally attached to a cow than to a plant, by all means, don't kill cows (if that's your desire). However, the same cruelty for animals exists for plants too. Just because you can't hear them scream doesn't mean they're not hurting. Cutting grass is like cutting a cow's legs except the cow produces sound that you can hear while the plant doesn't. It's less painful for you (because of natural empathy for similar organisms) to kill a plant than a cow but the act of cruelty is the same! If your immediate answer to this is "Plants grow back, cows' legs don't!", then either your level of intelligence is below the threshold for being able to understand my whole argument, or you're a terrible person. Lizard legs grow back too, does it mean it isn't cruel to cut them like we cut grass? If cows' legs grew back would it suddenly be okay to cut them off for food? If you answer is yes, then you fall under one of the aforementioned categories. (of course, if you're vegan/vegetarian, because if you're not, then you would be okay with this).

  12. Meat is important for your diet. Anyone who says it's not has been misinterpreting studies or simply not reading them at all. This isn't to say you can't be a vegetarian/vegan, but to have a healthy diet you'd need to control everything you eat VERY accuretly, to make sure you're not creating an easier path for a diseases to take place. Every diet needs to be tailored to the needs of individual groups of people like infants, children, adolescents, adults, pregnant, etc.
  13. This is not an easy task for someone seeking a vegetarian/vegan died and it certainly isn't natural! There are many well-founded concerns about children, who in many cases, can be seriously handicapped if made to follow a vegetarian/vegan diet. There are many different kinds of "Vegetarian"/"vegan" diets and restrictions, I don't even want to discuss that because it's not the point I'm making. I'm not against anyone who wants to follow a vegetarian-like diet. What I am trying to argue is simply the motive behind it and how "I don't want to kill animals" isn't a good one.
  14. It's also NOT natural to follow a vegetarian/vegan diet, we wouldn't even have become HUMAN if we hadn't taken up meat as food. You may want to read these

  18. Plants do not have a brain or a central nervous system but they do have structures that behave analogously: Plants transmit information between them, both between their own structures (eg. leaves) and between them in a very similar way to out nervous system. Plants are able to take in information and react accordingly, without having a central structure that processes it. They have hormones and other chemical molecules that they use for this kind of communication. Environmental factors such as electromagnetic radiation, pressure changes, water levels, etc. can also be used not only as a means of communication but also as factors that determine how the plant reacts. Plants have all senses that humans have, plus some more. Plants feel the effect of human anesthetics, for example, (it works directly with human nerve centers) and produce many of the hormones associated with pain and a whole range of emotions (like dopamine and serotonin). 21. Final Note: I am not against anyone who wants to be a vegan after reading and understanding this. It's prefectly okay to not want to kill animals but being okay killing plants. It's a valid reason, as long as you understand that they suffer just like the rest. It's an option and people should be able to follow it. This is not an attack on vegans, simply a post to inform many of you who are misinformed and think plants don't suffer. Furthermore, there are many other reasons for which someone chooses to be a vegan and most of them are perfectly valid, my post was only talking about one of those reasons.
