  1. [14:33] Solon looks over to the chuckling lad. It was Vitus, he hadn't spoke to him in a while.
  2.
  3. "Hows it going Vitus?"
  4. (Solon Tofusin )
  5.
  6. [14:35] He'd retain the same smile on his features, stretching a bit. "It goes, actually just had a spar over there with another Explosion magi such as yourself." Vitus mentions while brushing off bits of char from his clothing.
  7.
  8. "How are things on your end, I know the knights ceremony occurred so I take it should be calling ya Ser Solon now." The teen stated with a bit of jest in his tone.
  9. (Vitus Endore)
  10.
  11. [14:36] Solon Tofusin asks, "Ah. You win the fight?"
  12. [14:37] Solon Tofusin says, "Also you needn't call me that. It would make it seem like I'm above you or something."
  13. [14:38] Vitus Endore says, "Surprisingly i did manage to, and HoHo~, will do."
  14. [14:39] Solon Tofusin says, "Nice! Currently we are having a sparring session, one a bit more serious."
  15. [14:39] Vitus Endore asks, "Hmm serious in what way?"
  16. [14:40] Solon Tofusin whispers: We're training hard right now to combat the Syndicate. More so than normal...
  17. [14:40] Solon Tofusin whispers: More events happened to cause this.
  18. [14:44] Vitus Endore whispers: O-Oh... sounds very serious then.
  19. [14:44] Solon Tofusin says, "Indeed. Also I didn't know your brother Nicholas liked to plan weddings...."
  20. [14:44] Vitus Endore whispers: i was going to ask ya for your help with something but this sounds a little bit more important than what i need. Good luck with ya training bud and remember to take it easy every now and then.
  21. [14:44] Vitus looks at Solon a bit confused. "He what now?"
  22. (Vitus Endore)
  23.
  24. [14:44] Vitus Endore says, "I didn't know that at all."
  25. [14:44] Solon Tofusin whispers: I what might you need? I could still help out. Perhaps.
  26. [14:45] Solon Tofusin says, "Yea he's planning Sir Solenne's Wedding"
  27. [14:47] Vitus Endore whispers: Well i've been working on this thing with my magic, i'm trying to shoot off a really large flaming arrow of sorts. I have most of it down but... It doesn't go very far, i was wondering if maybe ya could help me out with that.
  28. [14:48] Vitus chuckled a bit at SOlon's response he was genuinely surprised to hear of his brother's side hobby. "Well that sure is something, i'll have to ask him about it when i see him next then."
  29. (Vitus Endore)
  30.
  31. [14:48] Solon Tofusin whispers: I could try and help you out in a bit. After zach kicks my teeth in....
  32. [14:49] Vitus Endore whispers: HoHo that lad does seem to have quite the handle on that blade, 50 coins says ya beat em' tho.
  33. [14:49] Solon Tofusin whispers: I'm sorry to say... Thats not going to happen but I'll gladly take your money again.
  34. [14:49] Solon Chuckles.
  35. (Solon Tofusin )
  36.
  37. [14:49] Zachary Retinea asks, "Anyone else up?"
  38. [14:49] Zachary Retinea says, "I think...she was upset."
  39. [14:50] Solon Tofusin says, "Yea, lets give it ago. You still owe me anyway."
  40. [14:50] He says in a joking tone.
  41. (Solon Tofusin )
  42.
  43. [14:50] Zachary Retinea asks, "How about we place a bet?"
  44. [14:50] Zachary Retinea says, "Fifty coin says I win."
  45. [14:51] Vitus blinks widely at Zachary's comment.
  46. (Vitus Endore)
  47.
  48. [14:51] Solon Tofusin asks, "... Your asking me to bet on myself?"
  49. [14:51] Solon Tofusin says, "I have seen you fight."
  50. [14:51] Zachary Retinea says, "If you're gunna doubt yourself you will not win."
  51. [14:53] Solon Tofusin asks, "Ehh Your right.... might as well have faith in myself. Alright how 'bout five hundred?"
  52. [14:54] Vitus Endore exclaims, "I'd like to throw some coin at this i'll throw one hundren on Solon!"
  53. [14:54] Zachary Retinea says, "Five- Hundred."
  54. [14:54] Zachary Retinea says, "Deal."
  55. [14:54] Zachary Retinea says, "Ahem..."
  56. [14:54] Solon Tofusin says, "Ahem..."
  57. [14:54] Zachary whips his coin purse around. Making sure he has it.
  58. (Zachary Retinea)
  59.
  60. [14:55] Zachary did not have it.
  61. (Zachary Retinea)
  62.
  63. [14:55] Zachary Retinea says, "Yup, I can do that."
  64. [14:55] Solon Tofusin exclaims, "Alright!"
  65. [14:55] Ferjen says, "Hello there, blue-haired boy"
  66. [15:00] Zachary Retinea exclaims, "Double or nothin!"
  67. [15:00] Solon Tofusin says, "..."
  68. [15:00] Zachary was digging the hole deeper.
  69. (Zachary Retinea)
  70.
  71. [15:01] Solon reluctantly agrees. "Sure...?"
  72. (Solon Tofusin )
  73.
  74. [15:12] Robin wakes up, but doesn't really wake up. Goteem.
  75. (Robin lei Queen)
  76.
  77.
  78. [15:28] Solon walks up to Zachary. Sheathing his blade. His magic fading.
  79.
  80. "You know what that was... I'm sure the frostbite didn't let you know huh?" He would make a bit of a jest about the wound. "Anyway that one thousand coins." He seemed really confused but a bet was a bet....
  81. (Solon Tofusin )
  82.
  83. [15:29] Zachary Retinea says, "I uh... I left it at home."
  84. [15:29] Zachary Retinea says, "Yeah."
  85. [15:30] Zachary Retinea says, "W-we can keep going for now. It seems I'm the one in need of practice."
  86. [15:31] Solon Tofusin says, "I wouldn't say that.... but alright. We can give it a bit of a go. I do wanna get around to helping Vitus at some point though...."
  87. [15:32] Zachary Retinea asks, "What does he need help with?"
  88. [15:32] Solon Tofusin says, "He needs help with learning a spell I believe.... that or getting use to it."
  89. [15:33] Zachary Retinea says, "He chose the right guy."
  90. [15:46] Zachary Retinea whispers something.
  91. [15:46] Solon Tofusin whispers something.
  92. [15:47] Zachary Retinea whispers something.
  93. [15:47] Zachary Retinea says, "I think we've had enough of that for now. You've gotten really strong Solon."
  94. [15:47] Solon Tofusin says, "Fine by me. Thanks for the training."
  95. [15:48] Zachary Retinea says, "I kept my word. You do yours."
  96. [15:48] Solon Tofusin says, "Will do."
  97. [15:49] Solon Tofusin asks, "So Vitus... would you like help now?"
  98. [15:50] Vitus Endore asks, "Yes i'm ready, would ya mind coming with me?"
  99. [15:50] Zachary Retinea asks, "Can I attend to watch?"
  100. [15:50] Solon Tofusin says, "Sure. I'll find you later Zach."
  101. [15:51] Zachary Retinea says, "O-oh.."
  102. [15:51] Solon Tofusin says, "Oh or that.\"
  103. [15:51] Solon Tofusin says, "If thats fine Vitus..."
  104. [15:51] Vitus Endore exclaims, "I don't mind!"
  105. [15:52] Solon Tofusin says, "Lead the way."
  106. [15:54] Solon Tofusin says, "This is a interesting place to do this."
  107. [15:54] Zachary Retinea says, "I'll keep a lookout."
  108. [15:55] Zachary stands up atop the boulder and watches on the horizon.
  109. (Zachary Retinea)
  110.
  111. [16:09] Vitus lead the group through the city, dashing around on the cobblestone and passing through the farmlands with relative ease. Soon finding themselves amongst the sandy dunes deep south. The torrent of sand infused winds buffeted their skin constantly as they made their way to the designated spot.
  112.
  113. Atop one of the flat inclines of raised sand is where Vitus had led them.
  114.
  115. "Is it really I always used to come here in my younger years to train on the domice about the area, I felt it was fitting to use them once again!" The young Endore grinned towards Solon watching Zachary take up lookout, he'd give a nod. "Ai."
  116.
  117. He'd overlook the area once or twice searching for one of the fire creatures that had been located the furthest in order to properly get it down.
  118.
  119. "Okay so i'm going to show you what I can do so far."
  120.
  121. Vitus took a few steps off to the side lifting his arm from underneath his coat gathering a fire ball within his palm, pouring his mana into it but also condensing the ball so it would shrink in size, once finished it would look like the same ball but with a spiked tip. 'Ready.' Vitus said calmly to himself, assuming a pitcher like stance, holding the ball in the air with both hands, swinging it around with his shoulder for one full cycle unleashing the rapid swirling fireball. As it travelled closer and closer to the domice, Vitus gradually opened his palm swelling the condensed ball into a huge oddly shaped arrow, at first it propelled itself along indefinitely but before it even got close to tapping the creature it puttered out and the flames simply dissipate.
  122.
  123. He'd take another deep breath trying to regain himself. "Yeah... and that's what happened the last time too" his head shaking along with his words. "I was wondering if maybe ya had any advice for me on this."
  124. (Vitus Endore)
  125.
  126. [16:22] Zachary Retinea says, "Smells like sulfer out here."
  127. [16:42]
  128. {LOAD GAME}
  129.
  130. [16:45]
  131. The trek here was quite long. If he hadn't done all the endurance training with Sir Vandigan when he was a Exarch; Solon might not have made it here. It's a nice secluded place... A hill in a desert. Quite iconic.
  132.
  133. He surveyed the area, "You came here as a kid huh? I feel like you've told me about that before." He says with a chuckle not expecting to visit the place with him.
  134.
  135. He takes a good hard look at Vitus' wannabe Sear. It was a simple fireball that took a misshapen form... It was inconsistent. Solon shook his head.
  136.
  137. "I see..." He takes a long pause just looking at the man before him. "What is your goal with learning this? What is your passion... All I see is fundamental spellcasting. Your flame is failing you for a solid reason. Depending on the person it can be one of multiple."
  138.
  139. Solon walks off to the side, turning to face Vitus. "First let it be known that all magic gets stronger with emotions. Certain magics require specific emotions to better it. For an example, Nature magic is stronger the calmer you are. While Fire is the opposite. The more anger you hold the better. Now I'll say the main three emotions I have used before…”
  140.
  141. "First, Fear. If you face something that is aiming to kill you or something you love; Your mana will manifest stronger than before. You should understand this when you and I went to fight that demon. That's how I learned Explosion magic."
  142.
  143. "Secondly, Anger. It plays in with the first one. If your pissed that something happened then you will constantly evoke and strengthen your magic with easy. I personally cast all of my magic with this emotion. You can use fear to lead to anger..."
  144.
  145. "Lastly, Determination. This is exclusive from the rest. If you have a goal in life, and you aim to fulfil it then you will get stronger. Your will can take you farther than most may think. Now the other two I have spoken about can sound like Determination.... While that is correct, the other emotions overpower it with easy. I would go so far as to say Determination is the weakest way. You can do it though."
  146.
  147. He would nod letting all of that soak in. Waiting to see what he does with it.
  148. (Solon Tofusin )
  149.
  150. [17:06] Zachary Retinea says, "Emotions can drive your spells, but don't let them take the reigns."
  151. [17:08] Vitus focused his attention on Solon his ears perking up for a moment as he proceeded to stroke at his chin rather briefly in thought over the question.
  152.
  153. "Well... With learning this in particular I want to advance myself strategically on the battlefield a magic attack geared towards a longer range can always be useful." His eyes glanced to the sides a bit, forest green eyes staring off towards the small grains of sand beneath his feet, raising his gaze back to meet with his a soft grin on his features.
  154.
  155. "My passion though, I wish to advance my control over fire to such a degree that the very area around me feels at one with the sun, blazing heat."
  156.
  157. As he answered those questions he continued to listen, from the sounds of it maybe he lacked that passion in casting such complex spells as these, Vitus grabbed under his chin giving it a few good twists to crack his neck. A calm breath as he listened along to the three emotions he used.
  158.
  159. "Ahh yes I recall that encounter... Coincidentally while this isn't as serious as what happened to you I ended up having a nightmare that night. It, reminded me why I always have to keep myself happy and smiling." Vitus mentioned with a chuckle though leaving it there, nodding his head as he listened to the rest.
  160.
  161. Vitus pulled out a piece of paper writing some of what Solon said down and tucking it away.
  162.
  163. "If I had to pick from those three i'd have to say it's likely anger. Lately I've been shifting away from that emotion, I understand the strength it provides..." Vitus looked down at his arm clenching his fist tightly. "But if I must use that emotion in order to manifest something like this, then I guess there isn't really much of an option."
  164.
  165. He stood there allowing his eyes to gaze off into horizon, bits of sand hitching themselves into his hair, turning himself once again towards Solon.
  166.
  167. "And ya thinkusing my Fears I can also push myself to that state?" It seemed that would be the route he'd go down for this scenario.
  168. (Vitus Endore)
  169.
  170. [17:16] "Indeed anger is a good choice. You need to mind that with this type of casting it will drain you mentality. For me that's normal... I only cast with my emotions. I cast evoke my magic like others." He turns to look towards Zachary, giving him a nod.
  171.
  172. "Indeed what he said is correct. You mustn't let your emotions control you. Doing this you will run a fine line of power and insanity. I think you have seen what happens when I get too drained. If not then that's good. Zachary has seen it, as well as a few others..." He pauses and corrects himself. "No, you have seen me like that. Its the exact way I acted after I was in the medic ward. After the demon's magic had a solid hold of me."
  173.
  174. He looks back to Vitus, nodding to his final statement. "Yes I do believe fear can evoke it... but how do you want to go about it. If you wish to continue on this path. If you evoke your mana like this you will most likely always manifest it that way."
  175. (Solon Tofusin )
  176.
  177. [17:36] Vitus took a moment to listen to them both, Zachary and Solon's input on not allowing your emotions to control you, that was thankfully something he had gotten some handle over during his time of handling fire magic.
  178.
  179. "I tend to mainly use my emotions as well but clearly not enough of it." It was something Yvel told him and he firmly believed that, having won several fights up to this point just by engaging in the little extra thought process on how a person casted.
  180.
  181. He never really allowed himself to fully get captivated by his own anger... Except for that one incident with the creature that injured his brother.
  182.
  183. "No I don't believe I have seen that happen bef..." He was cut off by Solon mentioning it was like how he was while being treated at the medical ward. "Oh... now that does make quite a lot of sense then. I've never really been that drained, I've rarely had my life threatened by something that could be a threat as of yet actually." The lad chuckles nervously at that statement, rubbing at the back of his head.
  184.
  185. His posture straightening up once again to listen to Solon speaking of evoking his fear and if he chooses this line of casting there will be no going back.
  186.
  187. "If it means progression forward, then I don't mind being locked into it. Keeping my emotions in check sounds like it'll be able to keep me busy for a lifetime too." Vitus mentioned fanning his hand in jest.
  188.
  189. Focusing himself once again, to listen for what Solon had to say before he would eventually make another attempt.
  190.
  191. (Vitus Endore)
  192.
  193. [17:50] Solon nods towards Vitus. "Now that state is what happens after you hit your max... I have only hit my max once before. That situation that you saw me in was a exception to this." He chuckles a bit...
  194.
  195. "I just hope you never see me when I hit my max. Let alone let you hit yours. Its something that I would prefer no one experiences. I had barely enough self control to not kill my sparring partner." He pauses thinking about how when Zach gets serious the same thing happens to him.
  196.
  197. He stops speaking for a while, lost in thought. Then he randomly came to. "I have a few ideas if you need to face your fears but none of them are kind. You might even die doing it... or someone else." His voice changes to the dark depressed monotone version on the last sentence. Sounding much like he did for the months after the demon incident.
  198.
  199. The tone continues, "Up to you really, I have already seen the worst. I've had someone I knew die, a battleto the death, watched a friend battle to the death not being able to assist them and I have watched all my friends, family, and myself die...." He trails off like he was going to add something else, but chooses not to.
  200.
  201. "I have give my advice now do with it as you will. If you need farther assistance let me know. Otherwise, I can't help you with anything. I'm not a teacher, I just have had experiences. Ones I wish no one would have to face." He awaits a response from Vitus to know if he wants to really do the fear way...
  202. (Solon Tofusin )
  203.
  204. [18:00] Zachary Retinea says, "If I had a few crowns for every magi who walked up to me asking to tutor them, I'd have about thirty crowns."
  205. [18:07] Vitus' head bobbed up and down in agreements. "Ai ya didn't look ya self at all that day... I'd hat to think of what it'd be like if something like that were to end up happening to me." Vitus shook his head ridding himself of the thought and replacing it with a grin instead.
  206.
  207. "I'm all ears to any advice you have to offer me Solon, I respect ya opinion highly." Vitus had a few of his own to confront all the same, a lot of them were itching at his psyche everyday but he did want to hear all the suggestions and every option available to him.
  208.
  209. He listen's to Solon as he goes on, indulging him more on how much he had been through and what sort of life he lived up to this point, it was a tragic one, and yet, every day Solon seems able to push through and carry about his life in relative peace.
  210.
  211. "I will Solon thank ya again, ya have helped me with this more than ya realise" Vitus offers Solon a very slight bow. "I understand that ya are no teacher nor mentor but ya still have wisdom which is why I wanted ya help."
  212.
  213. Vitus sunk his sandals deeper into the sand, staring into Solon's eyes. "If it'll help me to grow... Then I have to at least try."
  214. (Vitus Endore)
  215.
  216. [18:08] Zachary had his hood up to keep cool in the desert. His leather pouch full of water in his hands. He'd look to the two.
  217.
  218. These two takin their time in this damn heat.
  219.
  220. I wonder what the rest of the group is up to right now.
  221.
  222. He kicked some sand down and moved to the other side of the boulder. He made a point to stay in the shade. He'd be seen trying to scratch at his chest. Likely the heat was irritating the area around the mithril.
  223. (Zachary Retinea)
  224.
  225. [18:17] "Thank you, for all that you have done for me... Now these are the only things I will suggest. That doesn't mean to do them, you can figure it out on your own. I will only suggest the most drastic of cases due to it having the most results." He would take a deep breath, and clears his throat before he continues.
  226.
  227. It looked like he didn't want to say them but he has already said he would. "First, you could, go and fight the demon we did and let the magic seep into you. Making you life your worst nightmare. Luckily since I believe it would be your first time... it will be a lot more tame. Secondly, you could ask a family member to fight the demon or something to the death.
  228.
  229. "Last thing is I aim to kill you...." He says the last one with no malice or meanness to his voice. Just a completely dead one. Almost as if he already knew that this was going to be one of the most likely options. It would help him the most, but its not moral. The option is now out there....
  230. (Solon Tofusin )
  231.
  232. [18:27] Vitus listened closely to Solon, he thanked him at one point only allowing the young Endore's smile to grow even wider. Shifting his features back to how they usually were listening closely to Sol once again.
  233.
  234. He wasn't entirely surprised by what Solon suggested at first, fighting a demon as strange as it sounded was always a viable option, providing a unique perspective on a lot of what happens around the individual. "That might be an option!"
  235.
  236. However, once he heard the second suggestion his eyebrows furrowed just slightly before letting out a slight chuckle.
  237.
  238. "I see where you're going with that idea, but unfortunately I can't accept to that, there are just so many ways something like that could go wrong. My family wouldn't take kindly to that happening and i'd rather not have to burden them with it."
  239. (Vitus Endore)
  240.
  241. [18:30] Solon Tofusin says, "True... but I'm not sure if you ignored the last one or not... To be fair I would but still its a option...."
  242. [18:30] Zachary Retinea says, "He needs real practice."
  243. [18:30] Vitus Endore says, "I did answer ya."
  244. [18:33] Zachary Retinea says, "Well your family needs to accept what you wanna do. "
  245. [18:33] Zachary Retinea says, "Not that I know anything about -family-."
  246. [18:33] Solon Tofusin says, "I must of misunderstond you, my apologies. Just do what you feel is correct."
  247. [18:33] Zachary Retinea says, "Solon, it sounds like you've just about wrapped up his lesson. If he doesn't want to put it to the test then we can't force him."
  248. [18:34] Solon Tofusin says, "I don't wanna force him that was me closing the lesson."
  249. [18:35] Solon Tofusin says, "Either way. Do what you feel is right, perhaps ask your family about the things we have spoke about if you would like."
  250. [18:36] Zachary stood up from his relaxed pose in the sand and brushed himself off. Finally they can move on.
  251.
  252. "It's about time we head off on a patrol." He'd state.
  253. (Zachary Retinea)
  254.
  255. [18:36] Vitus Endore says, "It's more a matter of, if ya were to actually go too far and end my life. It wouldn't go over well with em' as i imagine it wouldn't in most families."
  256. [18:36] Solon Tofusin says, "I meant what I said. If I didn't then you wouldn't gain anything..."
  257. [18:37] Solon Tofusin says, "Sadly, thats why I said the most drastic of choices... and how I'm not saying to do them. Just that they exist."
  258. [18:39] Vitus Endore says, "I never said ya didn't mean it. But either way ya have done me quite a kindness today with the lessons and information."
  259. [18:40] Vitus Endore says, "I'll try to put it all to good use."
  260. [18:40] Solon looks over to Zachary giving him a nod. "Aye, we should start a patrol."
  261.
  262. He turns to look back at Vitus. "If you have any farther questions let me know, or you need help in general let me know. Just don't fight the demon by yourself. Take someone with ya."
  263. (Solon Tofusin )
  264.
  265. [18:41] Vitus gives a quick salute to them. "Ai!, i'm smart enough to know at least that much." the young Endore chuckled along, digging his hands into his pockets. Looking out in the the distant for a moment.
  266. (Vitus Endore)
  267.
  268. [18:41] Solon Tofusin exclaims, "Alright take care, Vitus!"
  269. [18:42] Vitus Endore says, "Take care of ya selves."
  270. [19:02] His piercing green hues stared over the hills. Focusing his gaze on the same domice from before, Vitus clenched his fist tightly unlike before where he used a lot of his thoughts to manifest his flames he allowed himself to be fuelled by the emotion of it. once his palm closed his fist erupted in a roaring cascading fire that swarmed not only his hand and wrist but also a little of his forearm as well.
  271.
  272. He'd state in a calm manner his eyes not leaving the creature for a moment. "Solon said to utilise my anger so that at least will be the first thing I work on... I will see if fear is even needed once I've done that."
  273.
  274. Once again Vitus poured his mana directly into his right arm, the fireball swelling to a tremendous degree, dangerously so even. But the young Endore kept his composure and was able to keep the magic at his disposal in peak form. He compressed the fireball, whereas before it held its crude and misshapen form it held originally, now it looked rather sleek, the ball was nigh perfectly spherical, the pointed tip at the top now protruded a little more as well in order to extend the actual side of the attack.
  275.
  276. "This one's going to do it... I can feel it..." Vitus assumed his stance once again, rotating his shoulder at such rapid speeds - a trail of circular flames propelling his limb forward, continuously winding up the pitch once the ball sailed off towards the Domice a proper crackling of flames erupted behind the ball, ripping through the sandy dunes and flames dragged behind the ball shaped arrow.
  277.
  278. His mind shifting to his siblings once again in the midst of this moment, they were his light in the darkness, the only thing he wanted to keep safe was them. He wanted them to be more protected than he ever was. "Never...Again.." he coo'ed softly to himself, the fire that lingered on his forearm still active, with the words leaving his lips the fire around his arm intensified and emboldened. With it so too did the fast paced ball, its size doubling what it was before once fully expanded, a crisp flaming arrowhead ripping through the air as it tore its way over to the Domice.
  279.
  280. Vitus kept the mana flowing through to his attack, shaking under the weight of how much he had to use for a single attack. In the end, however, he would not be celebrating much in the way of victory. It seemed his trajectory was completely off sending the misguided arrow up into the air spinning about before dissipating into nothingness once again.
  281.
  282. He fell to his knees in the sandy dunes, hunching his body over as he smacked his flame riddled arm onto the ground. "Damnit..!" the lad screamed, repeatedly slamming his arm into the ground with a clear bit of anger to him. "Why can't I get it to work..." He grumbled leaving himself there in the dunes for a moment. Giving himself some more time to think on Solon's suggestions and what he should consider doing.
  283. (Vitus Endore)
