Tsubaki and Anon pt. 19

>It's been a few years now.
>Quite a few years.
>Thankfully though early September isn't that cold.
>Trying to sleep in on one of my few days off.
>Half awake when something come barreling into my room.
>"DADDY! WAKE UP! YOU SAID YOU'D BE THERE FOR MY FIRST DAY!"
>Roll over to see a tiny head just bubbled over the top of the bed.
>The tiny danuki looked like Tsubaki minus the dirty blonde hair and blue eyes.
>"Give daddy three more minutes Sayla, I'm tired."
>"No! the bus is gonna be here soon!"
>Felt Sayla tugging at the covers as she tried to get me up.
>Stretched and let loose a massive yawn before giving into my daugher's demands.
>"Alright alright, gimmie a second."
>Gave Sayla a pat on the head before shooing her out to get dressed.
>Felt grateful that our new home had more closet space than the old apartment.
>Though it also meant I couldn't keep the computer in the bedroom anymore.
>Manage to catch Tsubaki and Sayla at the front door as they were stepping outside.
>"Right I'm here."
>"Anon you look like you rolled out of bed."
>"Well I did."
>Gave Tsubaki a quick peck and Sayla a headpat before the three of us left the house.
>Stood there waiting for a bit with Sayla between Tsubaki and I.
>It painted a rather cute picture with Sayla holding our hands.
>Quiet country side morning meant I had time to reflect on the things that had happened.
>Like how bringing Tsubaki with me to thanksgiving dinner almost cost me what little relationship I had with my parents.
>Only after Sayla was born did they try and bother with me.
>Or the time Tsubaki's mother tracked her down just to give us her blessing.
>As well as the news that she had used her channels to renew Tsubaki's visa.
>Or the time we had to bid Lahlah goodbye as we moved out.
>"Anon why are you smiling?"
>Realized I was grinning ear to ear and both Tsubaki and Sayla were looking at me.
>"I thought of something we should do is all."
>Fished my phone out of my pocket and fiddled with it.
>Tsubaki and Sayla looked on as I walked over to the car and fought with the phone till it stood up.
>"Anon what are you doing?"
>"Figured we should have a family photo before Sayla goes off on her first day."
>Ran back over and positioned the three of us best I could.
>"Girls ready? Say cheese!"
>"CHEESE!"
>Soft clicking from the simulated shutter on the phone told me the timer had gone off and the picture taken.
>"Daddy, after school I wanna call gramma Lahlah and tell her about my day!"
>"I'm sure she'll love to hear from you, next summer we'll all go to the beach with her hows about?"
>"Are you gonna let gramma see my first day picture?"
>"You bet sweetheart. Gonna send one to Momma's phone to so she has it too."
>By the time I got back could already hear the bus before we saw it.
>The massive yellow bus rumbled up before coming to a stop, it's red lights flashing as the stop sign jutted out from the side.
>Walked Sayla across the street with Tsubaki and gave one last wave as she got on the bus.
>Watched as the bus drove off and out of sight around the bend leaving Tsubaki and I.
>Felt a sense of pride as I put an arm around Tsubaki's waist and held her.
>Smiled as I looked over at my wife, the years having granted her a more motherly body.
>"Your birthday is coming up soon Anon~."
>"Stop I feel old enough already with Sayla your teasing makes me feel like an old man."
>"Even when you're an old man I'll still love you Anon."
>House felt emptier without Sayla around.
>Stopped Tsubaki as she stepped into the kitchen from the mudroom.
>"It's awfully quiet here now Tsu, our little girl is one day gonna move out and it'll be like this forever."
>"What are you suggesting Anon~."
>That sultry look Tsubaki shot me told me she understood what I wanted.
>"I'm suggesting that you be in the bedroom in the next five minutes and that we don't come out for a very long time."
>Raced after Tsubaki as the two of us went off to give Sayla a younger sibling.
