  1. [20:51] <[GM]Mary> Last time, on 89 Maids Per Hour!
  2. [20:52] <[k]Terry> [lock 'n loaded]
  3. [20:56] <[GM]Mary> Uh... umm...
  4. [20:56] * [GM]Mary looks over her script.
  5. [20:57] * [GM]Script is blank
  6. [20:57] <[GM]Mary> Oh, no!
  7. ---
  8. @@Presently, on Alundra...
  9. ---
  10. [21:04] * [huh]Aki exits her room, carrying a damp tissue.
  11. [21:04] * [k]Terry just finish exercising at the Gym. She's out in the hallway with drenched towel, heading to cafeteria to grab a gatorade.
  12. [21:05] * [huh]Aki brushes past Terry and heads into the bathroom.
  13. [21:06] * [k]Terry just give her a glance. What's the hurry?
  14. [21:06] * [k]Terry then just mind her own business.
  15. [21:09] * [huh]Aki exits a short while later, catching up with Terry.
  16. [21:09] <[huh]Aki> Hey, Terry!
  17. [21:09] <[k]Terry> Oh hi. You know my name?
  18. [21:10] * [k]Terry waves.
  19. [21:13] <[huh]Aki> Sorta.
  20. [21:14] <[k]Terry> Anything you need?
  21. [21:14] * [k]Terry is still in her exercise garment and is quite sweaty.
  22. [21:18] <[huh]Aki> Oh, no, just wanted to say hi. I'm new here, too.
  23. [21:19] <[k]Terry> hooh boy! I thought I'm the only new recruit here! How's it going?!
  24. [21:19] * [k]Terry violent handshake.
  25. [21:19] * [huh]Aki isn't used to such enthusiasm.
  26. [21:19] <[huh]Aki> Ah, thanks...
  27. [21:20] <[huh]Aki> I'm doing fine.
  28. [21:21] <[k]Terry> How do you know my name, actually?
  29. [21:22] <[huh]Aki> Ship has lots of stuff publicly available. I was browsing the recruit roster earlier.
  30. [21:25] <[huh]Aki> So, where are you from? Or, maybe, when are you from?
  31. [21:25] <[k]Terry> Ah, 1994. You?
  32. [21:26] <[k]Terry> also the name's Terry Browton. Nicetameetcha.
  33. [21:27] <[huh]Aki> Oh? I'm from 2009. Aki Natsuko.
  34. [21:27] <[huh]Aki> Likewise, a pleasure.
  35. [21:27] <[k]Terry> Not really far away from each other, are we.
  36. [21:28] <[k]Terry> last person I met was from 21XX. Man, just like in Rockman!
  37. [21:28] <[huh]Aki> Ah, really?
  38. [21:29] <[huh]Aki> Haven't had much chance to talk to anybody here...
  39. [21:29] <[k]Terry> yeppers. She's a doctor of some sort.
  40. [21:29] <[k]Terry> We recruits gotta band together!
  41. [21:29] <[huh]Aki> Yeah!
  42. [21:29] * [k]Terry is being needlessly enthusiasm!
  43. [21:31] * [k]Terry 's enthusiasm dies down quickly, realize that there's actually nothing to do.
  44. [21:31] <[k]Terry> drat.
  45. [21:32] <[Nom]Kleio> "What are you two doing here? Don't just stand about chatting like listless schoolgirls. It's unseemly."
  46. [21:32] * [Nom]Kleio passes by in a cameo appearance
  47. [21:32] <[huh]Aki> I am a schoolgirl, though.
  48. [21:32] * [Nom]Kleio stops
  49. [21:32] <[huh]Aki> Or was, before coming here.
  50. [21:32] <[Nom]Kleio> "Not now you're not. If you were, you would know not to talk back."
  51. [21:33] <[k]Terry> Hi. Who are you anyway?
  52. [21:33] * [k]Terry waves like a good-natured person she is.
  53. [21:33] <[huh]Aki> Geez, you don't have to be so uptight, you know?
  54. [21:35] * [Nom]Kleio raises an eyebrow. The raising of the eyebrow is a art that few people master as this, a perfect mix of disapproval, condescension, and general annoyance
  55. [21:37] <[Nom]Kleio> "You're new here, I gather?"
  56. [21:37] <[k]Terry> Ayup!
  57. [21:38] <[huh]Aki> Yes.
  58. [21:38] <[Nom]Kleio> "It does figure. It would explain your impertinence."
  59. [21:38] * [Nom]Kleio turns around to face the two fully
  60. [21:40] <[Nom]Kleio> "Clio. Of the North Hampshire Clios."
  61. [21:43] <[huh]Aki> Nice to meet you.
  62. [21:44] <[Nom]Kleio> "Why, you -are- new here."
  63. [21:45] <[huh]Aki> Didn't we already establish that?
  64. [21:47] <[Nom]Kleio> "Quite. At this point it is undoubted."
  65. [21:49] <[huh]Aki> Well, what does it matter? Even you were new once.
  66. [21:51] * [k]Terry thinks the modd is a bit too heavy, so she decide not to talk.
  67. [21:53] <[Nom]Kleio> "No. No, I never was. But you're right in that it matters little. Your newness should not excuse you anything."
  68. [21:54] <[k]Terry> so, uh, miss Clio, right?
  69. [21:54] <[k]Terry> What exactly does we do wrong, here?
  70. [21:54] <[k]Terry> Chatting is not against any rule, as far as I recall.
  71. [21:55] * [Nom]Kleio raises her eyebrow higher, which might have seemed like a physical impossibility at first, but a well trained eyebrow defies such limitations
  72. [21:57] <[Nom]Kleio> "Your knowledge of regulation aside, you are unsightly."
  73. [21:57] <[k]Terry> What.
  74. [21:57] * [k]Terry frowns.
  75. [21:58] <[huh]Aki> That's a pretty cruel thing to say.
  76. [21:58] <[k]Terry> Are you asking for a fight? because I have plenty to give ya.
  77. [22:00] <[Nom]Kleio> "Cruel? The multiverse unraveling and all the works of mankind crumbling to ashes is cruel. This is etiquette."
  78. [22:00] * [k]Terry cannot comprehend.
  79. [22:00] <[huh]Aki> Isn't it bad manners to call someone unsightly to their face?
  80. [22:05] <[Nom]Kleio> "Do not mistake me for a slack-wristed nursemaid who can only prance around and speak sweet nothings. I am always educational."
  81. [22:05] <[k]Terry> That's not answering any question.
  82. [22:06] <[huh]Aki> Wait, hold it, physical violence is not The Way.
  83. [22:06] <[k]Terry> I'm not gonna do anything, sheesh.
  84. [22:07] <[Nom]Kleio> "Oh, you know of the Eastern philosophies. We should have chat over a hot cup some time."
  85. [22:07] <[huh]Aki> I'm Taoist, actually.
  86. [22:08] <[Nom]Kleio> "Fascinating. Do tell! In the cafeteria, if possible."
  87. [22:09] * [Nom]Kleio would not, after all, want to be caught standing around chatting like a listless schoolgirl
  88. [22:10] <[huh]Aki> Sure thing.
  89. [22:10] <[huh]Aki> Coming along, Terry?
  90. [22:10] <[k]Terry> Sorry, I'm not gonna join a chat with someone who just tell me that I'm "unsightly."
  91. [22:10] <[k]Terry> Go have your fun. I'm outta here.
  92. [22:11] * [k]Terry walks away with a rather large Hmphs.
  93. [22:11] <[Nom]Kleio> "Were you invited? I thought not."
  94. [22:12] <[huh]Aki> Well, uh, maybe later, then...
  95. [22:12] * [huh]Aki motions a quick apology and dashes off after Terry.
  96. [22:13] * [k]Terry grumbles.
  97. [22:14] <[Nom]Kleio> "Go on then, socialise with your ape. I'm not getting any older."
  98. [22:14] <[k]Terry> what the hell, seriously! God damnit you stuck up bitch! Think you are a cleopatra or queen elizabeth or something?!
  99. [22:15] * [huh]Aki puts a hand on Terry's shoulder.
  100. [22:18] <[k]Terry> whaat.
  101. [22:18] <[huh]Aki> Don't let her get to you...
  102. [22:19] <[k]Terry> Sorry, too late.
  103. [22:19] * [k]Terry shrugs.
  104. [22:19] <[k]Terry> Now I feel like hitting something mercilessly with an ugly stick.
  105. [22:20] <[huh]Aki> Cheeee... don't know what to say to that.
  106. [22:21] <[k]Terry> You see how she act, do you?! That's obviously looking for a fight!
  107. [22:21] <[k]Terry> And I didn't actually do anything to her, shit.
  108. [22:23] <[huh]Aki> Some people are just like that, but it does piss me off...
  109. [22:27] <[k]Terry> Well... getting all pissy about it won't do me any good.
  110. [22:27] <[k]Terry> I'm going to take a shower. You?
  111. [22:29] <[huh]Aki> A shower might be good. It hasn't even been an hour, and that lady's gotten me all stressed again...
  112. [22:30] <[k]Terry> Shower release your stress?
  113. [22:31] <[huh]Aki> Well, it's warm and soothing.
  114. [22:31] <[k]Terry> That's true. Never thought of it that way.
  115. [22:37] <[huh]Aki> Well, I'll take one after you're done, then.
  116. [22:39] <[k]Terry> See ya.
  117. [22:39] * [k]Terry waves.
  118. [22:39] <[huh]Aki> Bye.
  119. [22:44] * [k]Terry disappear into her own room to get some change of clothes.

  121. @@Meanwhile, in 1986...
  122. ---
  123. [21:00] <[GM]Mary> Abiella had just unlocked the door to the radar room, and Axel is wandering around the big square hallway that connects the rest of the station. Who knows where the others are.
  124. [21:10] <[GM]Mary> Axel hides in a closet.
  125. [21:11] <[GM]Mary> [we can make up whatever reason later]
  126. [21:13] <[GM]Mary> Abiella: the signal doesn't get particularly stronger in the radar room.
  127. [21:15] * [Kly]Amy ignores Axel for now. What's around this corner...?
  128. [21:15] * [Rut]Abiella clicks her tongue. She peeks into the room, staying around the corner, by the doorway, checking for any guards.
  129. [21:16] <[GM]Mary> Amy: The door to the communications room opens, and a man steps out. He isn't looking your way right now, but any second...
  130. [21:18] * [Kly]Amy tries not to gasp. Not good... not good. Back is better.
  131. [21:20] * [Mode]Nao also looks into the radar room for guards. More eyes are better, and might get a response from the DM faster if it seems more urgent.
  132. [21:21] <[GM]Mary> Nao: There are none.
  133. [21:22] <[Mode]Nao> Looks clear.
  134. [21:24] <[GM]Mary> Nao & Abiella: The signal only gets stronger when closer to the south side of the radar room.
  135. [21:25] * [Kly]Amy attempts to move quickly back, ducking around the corner. Aaahh... that was close!
  136. [21:27] <[Mode]Nao> Signals stronger here... I wonder if it's further into the base.
  137. [21:27] * [Mode]Nao looks over at Abiella.
  138. [21:27] <[Mode]Nao> Suppose we should back the others up then?
  139. [21:27] * [Kly]Amy keeps going. Back to the others, heart beating strongly.
  140. [21:27] <[GM]Mary> Amy: the guy seems to be having bowel troubles, as he makes a dash for the bathroom.
  141. [21:29] <[Rut]Abiella> ... I guess it can't be helped. Much ado about nothing and all that. But I hate Shakespeare anyway.
  142. [21:29] * [Kly]Amy waves when she sees the strange guys.
  143. [21:29] <[Mode]Nao> Uh... huh?
  144. [21:29] <[Kly]Amy> Aaah... that was close...
  145. [21:29] <[Kly]Amy> Someone came out of the...
  146. [21:30] * [Kly]Amy takes a look at the map
  147. [21:30] * [Rut]Abiella isn't even looking at Nao.
  148. [21:30] * [Mode]Nao the joke going over her head, Nao creeps back to the radar room door and prepares to back up the others. The bomb should be close.
  149. [21:30] <[Mode]Nao> Let's go.
  150. [21:30] <[Rut]Abiella> Hm? Oh, yes, yes.
  151. [21:31] * [Rut]Abiella follows closely, mumbling something barely audible.
  152. [21:32] * [Kly]Amy follows behind, a bit further away. Maybe it's not that important...
  153. [21:38] <[GM]Mary> Nao: As you near the communications room, it becomes obvious that people are in it. At least two people are discussing something over radio chatter, but you can't really understand it over the sounds of the machines and the guy in the bathroom's violent shouting.
  154. [21:40] * [Mode]Nao checks signal strength of the bomb locator.
  155. [21:41] <[GM]Mary> Nao: it's the highest it has been. You're not right on top of it, but you're getting warm.
  156. [21:43] * [Kly]Amy Looks at Nao, and then back down the hall. And then, she has an idea.
  157. [21:44] * [Mode]Nao keeps low, heading down the hall.
  158. [21:45] * [Kly]Amy thinks that Axel had the right idea, and heads towards the other free closet.
  159. [21:45] <[Kly]Amy> Hey, IRIS... can you plot something for me?
  160. [21:45] <[GM]Mary> Nao: You find yourself in a small laboratory with ridiculously outdated equipment, even for this time period. To your right is a room with a shut door, to your left is an open door with a light on. Your sensor is getting stronger.
  161. [21:46] <[GM]IRIS> Sure thing, miss zero-zero-six-three!
  162. [21:48] * [GM]IRIS 's little graphic peps up and brandishes some measuring tools
  163. [21:49] * [Mode]Nao moves to the left wall, then peeks around the corner through the open door, looking for any sign of people.
  164. [21:50] <[Kly]Amy> Um, here, can you figure out where the bomb is? I think we can make an equation like this...
  165. [21:51] <[GM]Mary> Nao: There's a guy right there writing a letter on the desk. Pretty big guy for a Ruskie conscript, too. If he looks just a little to his left, he'll see you.
  166. [21:51] * [Kly]Amy spits out an equation, but she's not sure if it's completely correct. It was the middle of summer before she showed up here...
  167. [21:53] <[GM]IRIS> ...Customization complete! Margin of error is approximately: 10 FT
  168. [21:57] * [Mode]Nao deftly slips past the door, continuing further into the lab. She checks the indicator as she proceeds further in.
  169. [21:58] <[GM]IRIS> zero-zero-six-three: You are approximately forty feet away!
  170. [21:58] <[GM]Mary> Nao: It's about at "fast" now. Getting stronger.
  171. [22:00] <[Kly]Amy> Forty feet? Which way?
  172. [22:01] <[GM]IRIS> That way!
  173. [22:01] * [GM]IRIS 's hands split into four cardinal directions
  174. [22:01] * [Rut]Abiella hits her T.D. Shroud... but miss-enters a coordinate. Whoops~ A rather large flicker of light (shaped oddly like a foot) occurs as she exits the shroud, following Nao.
  175. [22:03] <[GM]Mary> The big ruskie sees a dress in his peripheral vision.
  176. [22:03] <[GM]Mary> BigRuskie: "Huh?"
  177. [22:03] <[GM]Mary> He gets up from his chair, and takes a step towards the lab.
  178. [22:04] <[Kly]Amy> What?
  179. [22:04] <[GM]Mary> BigRuskie: "Fyodor? What are you doing?"
  180. [22:04] * [Kly]Amy plays around with the equation for a while, trying to get it to work better.
  181. [22:06] * [Mode]Nao hears a voice, and turns to see Abiella following her, and the voice sounded like it came from the room she just passed. She looks around for some kind of hiding place.
  182. [22:13] * [Atai]Mechanical_Janet knocks on the door outside and so does the first potentially useful thing she's done this whole mission.
  183. [22:14] <[GM]Mary> BigRuskie: "Hmm?"
  184. [22:14] <[GM]Mary> The big ruskie goes to open the door.
  185. [22:15] * [Atai]Mechanical_Janet ducks back around the corner.
  186. [22:16] <[GM]Mary> The big ruskie looks around, then heads into the communications room.
  187. [22:17] * [Rut]Abiella exhales slightly, then makes her footsteps as quiet as possible and slips into hiding under a table.
  188. [22:18] * [Mode]Nao waits a few seconds in her clever hiding place that is so hidden even she doesn't actually know where it is before emerging and returning to sweep the room for the bomb, heading towards the back of the lab.
  189. [22:18] * [Atai]Mechanical_Janet hauls ass (quietly) into the lab.
  190. [22:19] * [Kly]Amy kicks back against some spare coats in the closet. This is a lot better than being out there.
  191. [22:20] <[GM]Mary> Amy: Kleine chimes in on your radio, his old man face appearing in the corner of your eye.
  192. [22:21] <[Kly]Amy> Hmm?
  193. [22:21] <[GM]IRIS> /Amy? Is there a problem? I'm not getting a good visual read out from your POV.../
  194. [22:22] <[GM]Mary> Nao: The signal doesn't get any stronger, but stays mostly constant.
  195. [22:22] <[Kly]Amy> No problem, I'm just, um... trying to get this equation to work.
  196. [22:23] * [Kly]Amy flicks her eyes a few times, routing the proper information back to Kleine
  197. [22:23] <[Kly]Amy> I got an A on this test, too...
  198. [22:24] * [Atai]Mechanical_Janet looks in the left room for signs of anyone.
  199. [22:24] <[GM]IRIS> /Ah. I noticed that you only arrived here a few days ago, if I had realized, you wouldn't have been sent on a mission this early. Sorry about that, I thought I recognized you. As for your equation.../
  200. [22:26] * [Mode]Nao from the back of the lab (western edge), sweeps around the lab in a counter clockwise motion, watching for any change in the indicator.
  201. [22:26] * [Atai]Mechanical_Janet increases receptivity of auditory sensors once more so as to be able to listen both for sounds of anyone in the room, as well as if anyone is coming closer.
  202. [22:27] <[GM]Mary> Janet: It's a small office, mostly for written work and the like. Atop the desk is a hand-written letter in cyrillic, a few Russian textbooks, and a ring of keys.
  203. [22:28] <[GM]Mary> Nao: The signal is strongest to the north.
  204. [22:28] <[GM]IRIS> /...Hmm. I take it this is for improving your explosive sensor?/
  205. [22:30] <[Kly]Amy> Huh? I was just trying to plo...
  206. [22:31] <[Kly]Amy> Hey, does this thing have YRS?
  207. [22:33] * [Mode]Nao searches the room for any kind of windows.
  208. [22:34] <[GM]IRIS> I can transmit information wirelessly, Missus zero-zero-six-three~
  209. [22:36] * [Mode]Nao curses her luck slightly, not seeing any windows in the room, she makes her way back to Abiella.
  210. [22:36] <[Mode]Nao> I think the bomb is outside.
  211. [22:37] <[Rut]Abiella> Mmm... this is irritating. If I knew where the effect was, I could simply follow the cause by way of the timespace intermediary... Let's see...
  212. [22:38] * [Kly]Amy gets to work, forgetting about Kleine for the moment. She pops open the sniffer, and starts messing with the firmware...
  213. [22:39] * [Rut]Abiella punches keys into her watch rapidly, then seems to give up.
  214. [22:39] * [Atai]Mechanical_Janet scribbles out a note in clean-looking but grammatically awful Russian, and sets it on the man's desk. Then she listens at the door of the next room with her enhanced hearing, listening for any sounds of movement or occupancy.
  215. [22:39] <[Kly]Amy> ...aha!
  216. [22:40] <[Kly]Amy> Whoops...
  217. [22:40] * [Mode]Nao heads towards the doors out of the lab, but stops, looking at the closed door. Well, might not hurt to check. She approaches the door and checks to see if it's unlocked.
  218. [22:40] * [GM]IRIS has new kicks
  219. [22:40] * [Kly]Amy snaps the back of the sniffer back into place.
  220. [22:40] <[Kly]Amy> Which way is it now?
  221. [22:41] <[GM]IRIS> Alright, missus zero-zero-six-three! Or was it three-six? I'll just call you band-aid lady! Okay, miss Band-Aid Lady, what you're looking for is...
  222. [22:41] <[Rut]Abiella> Ugh... so flat. Not going anywhere-- wha-hey! Wait for me!
  223. [22:42] * [GM]IRIS displays a dial with a number: forty-eight feet, directly east of the closet.
  224. [22:42] <[Rut]Abiella> Ahaha, brilliant, Nao, brilliant! Of course action is the antidote to my despair! I knew I could count on you~
  225. [22:42] <[GM]Mary> Mao: The door's locked.
  226. [22:43] * [Kly]Amy moves all the code cluttering the screen out of the way, so that the tiny Kleine is back in vision
  227. [22:43] <[Kly]Amy> Gotta go. Thanks, Dr.~
  228. [22:44] <[GM]IRIS> /No Problem./
  229. [22:44] * [GM]IRIS 's visual on Kleine cuts away.
  230. [22:45] * [Kly]Amy gets on the radio
  231. [22:45] <[Kly]Amy> Guys, guys! I found it!
  232. [22:45] * [Kly]Amy sends over the targeting data
  233. [22:46] * [Atai]Mechanical_Janet looks up. Oh hey, fellow Maidketeers.
  234. [22:46] <[GM]Mary> Everyone else: a yellow dot flashes in the northern room of the laboratory.
  235. [22:46] * [Atai]Mechanical_Janet comes up behind them.
  236. [22:46] <[Kly]Amy> Someone go disarm it, ok?
  237. [22:46] <[Atai]Mechanical_Janet> Good afternoon, ladies. How-- oh?
  238. [22:46] <[Rut]Abiella> Ohh! Just what I was looking for!
  239. [22:47] * [Atai]Mechanical_Janet pauses as dot-flashan gaems occur.
  240. [22:49] * [Mode]Nao easily defeats the lock and opens the door to the locked room, taking a gander around inside. Well, the bomb had already been narrowed down to this area by the time the flash came up on the headset.
  241. [22:51] <[GM]Mary> Nao: It's a room with a few computers and a large monitor. It's turned off. The floor is concrete, and the ceiling is tiled with florescent lighting.
  242. [22:52] * [Mode]Nao enters the room, looking around for any kind of location the bomb could be.
  243. [22:56] * [Kly]Amy goes back to talking with IRIS, after opening a few small windows to watch the others on
  244. [22:56] <[GM]Mary> Bomb Looker Forers: the yellow dot is in the northwest part of the room, between the monitor and the computers stacked up on shelves. Looking up, you notice a brown box just barely showing itself in a high vent...
  245. [22:57] * [Rut]Abiella runs her fingers along it's side...
  246. [22:57] <[GM]Mary> Abiella: It's taller than you. Unless you're like, eight feet tall.
  247. [23:02] <[Rut]Abiella> Hmm... Nao?
  248. [23:02] <[Mode]Nao> Yes?
  249. [23:02] <[Rut]Abiella> From your perspective... is this object in motion faster than light?
  250. [23:03] <[Mode]Nao> ... Huh?
  251. [23:03] * [Rut]Abiella has a serious look on her face.
  252. [23:04] <[Rut]Abiella> It's potential exceeds it's motion, right? It looks that way to you?
  253. [23:04] <[Mode]Nao> I don't really know.
  254. [23:05] * [Rut]Abiella scratches her chin.
  255. [23:05] * [Kly]Amy pipes up over the radio.
  256. [23:05] <[Kly]Amy> It's not, is it?
  257. [23:07] <[GM]Mary> The bomb looks like a bomb, except about two feet out of your reach if you were to stand on your tiptoes and reach up.
  258. [23:07] <[Rut]Abiella> Mm... is this interval so damaged that perception is-- Hm? Oh, no it doesn't look that way to me. But a single point of view is meaningless in a world of realism.
  259. [23:08] <[Rut]Abiella> Uh, Nao, if the object is not stationary to you, can you estimate it's velocity?
  260. [23:08] <[Rut]Abiella> Oh, could it be dynamic? And in what way? And what was the outside factor that served as the initiator?
  261. [23:08] <[Mode]Nao> Uh... zero kilometers per hour. I'm pretty sure it's stationary.
  262. [23:09] <[Mode]Nao> And we just can't reach it.
  263. [23:09] <[Mode]Nao> How's this sound, you lift me up to the vent.
  264. [23:09] * [Rut]Abiella frowns.
  265. [23:10] <[Rut]Abiella> Why all this madman's dancing, then? You should have told me it was stationary. I was worried that the interval was coming apart!
  266. [23:10] <[Rut]Abiella> Anyway...
  267. [23:10] <[[Mode]Nao]Ramirez> I shouldn't need to think for you, Abi, you're plenty clever enough.
  268. [23:11] * [[Mode]Nao]Ramirez links her fingers and motions to boost the other maid to the vent.
  269. [23:13] * [Rut]Abiella nods, and tries to hop up with Nao's help.
  270. [23:16] <[GM]Mary> Abiella: You've never seen this kind of bomb before, but it looks like a rectangular hunk of clay attached to a digital readout and a detonator. The readout has two digits:0002:42 and 0000:00.
  271. [23:17] <[Rut]Abiella> Whew~ OK, then...
  272. [23:17] <[[Mode]Nao]Ramirez> Can you get it down?
  273. [23:19] <[Atai]Mechanical_Janet> ...Do we have anyone back on the Alundra we can contact for help in disarming this?
  274. [23:20] <[Rut]Abiella> I'll do it~
  275. [23:20] * [Atai]Mechanical_Janet feels rather un-reassured.
  276. [23:20] * [Rut]Abiella starts entering something into her watch.
  277. [23:23] * [Rut]Abiella takes a deep breath.
  278. [23:23] <[Rut]Abiella> Got it.
  279. [23:24] * [Rut]Abiella reaches into her dress and draws what appears to be an overlarge meat tenderizer?
  280. [23:24] <[[Mode]Nao]Ramirez> As in you have it, or?
  281. [23:24] <[Rut]Abiella> This will only take a moment.
  282. [23:25] * [Atai]Mechanical_Janet doesn't blanch, but only because she isn't human.
  283. [23:28] <[Rut]Abiella> ... Event resolution. Link to effect defined as Al87DB.4. Causal inertia stable...
  284. [23:28] <[Rut]Abiella> ... you -did- say this looked like it was stationary, yes?
  285. [23:28] * [Rut]Abiella takes what looks to be a batter's stance.
  286. [23:29] <[[Mode]Nao]Ramirez> It's stationary.
  287. [23:29] <[Rut]Abiella> Oh good~
  288. [23:29] <[Kly]Amy> You did it? Now what?
  289. [23:29] <[Rut]Abiella> Not yet.
  290. [23:31] * [Rut]Abiella winds up and swings the hammer into the bomb! And -through it-. A faint shattering can be heard. Sparks explode outwards. Followed by wind. Then nothing.
  291. [23:35] <[Rut]Abiella> Aaand... contiguity routed.
  292. [23:39] <[Rut]Abiella> Time to go home?
  293. [23:40] * [Kly]Amy ...doesn't answer. Did she just hit a bomb with a hammer?
  294. [23:40] <[GM]Mary> Everybody: You hear a faint snoozing over your radios.
  295. [23:41] <[Kly]Amy> Hey, Dr. We did it!
  296. [23:43] <[GM]IRIS> /zzz...Hm?! What? Clio? I mean- What's going on? Where are you?/
  297. [23:45] <[Kly]Amy> We're in, um... 1986. And we got rid of the bomb!
  298. [23:46] <[GM]IRIS> /Oh... right. Ahem. Good work, then. Get to a safe place and I'll extract you./
  299. [23:47] <[Kly]Amy> IRIS, is the closet safe?
  300. [23:49] <[GM]IRIS> Um, not very. Try to get someplace you got at least a five foot radius. Someplace that no one will hear you, too.
  301. [23:49] * [Kly]Amy nods, and peeks out of the closet.
  302. [23:52] * [[Mode]Nao]Ramirez job complete, for all intents and purposes, she sets Abiella back down and backs towards the door.
  303. [23:52] <[[Mode]Nao]Ramirez> I think we should get out of here now.
  304. [23:53] * [Kly]Amy starts to walk for the rear exit, but doesn't realize until too late that she's dragging a coat hanger
  305. [23:53] <[Kly]Amy> A-ah!
  306. [23:55] * [Kly]Amy fumbles around with the hanger, eventually managing to get it unattached. Throwing it back into the closet, she continues on her way.
  307. [23:55] <[Rut]Abiella> Hup!
  308. [23:55] * [Rut]Abiella hops down.
  309. [23:56] * [Mode]Nao makes her way out of the small room, heading out of the lab. There's an exit nearby, should be a quick way out.
  310. [23:58] * [Rut]Abiella keeps pace with Nao, albeit with enough room so as not to crash into her, should she stop suddenly.
  311. [23:59] * [Mode]Nao gets to the door at the end of the hall and pushes it open, stepping back out into the cold and waiting for everyone else to follow.
  312. [00:01] * [Kly]Amy ends up outside, a little after that group.
  313. [00:01] <[Kly]Amy> Ahh... we did it, didn't we~
  314. [00:01] <[Mode]Nao> We're not back on the station yet.
  315. [00:02] <[Kly]Amy> But we got the bomb, and there's no one out here...
  316. [00:02] <[Mode]Nao> We're not done or truly safe until we get back to the station.
  317. [00:03] * [Kly]Amy nods, frowning a little.
  318. [00:04] <[GM]IRIS> /Alright, then... Is everyone ready? Go through return procedures and sit tight./
  319. [00:05] * [Mode]Nao heads away from the building, a little more into the open, and then initiates return procedures.
  320. [00:06] <[Kly]Amy> Hey, IRIS? What're the return procedures?
  321. [00:06] * [Kly]Amy nods as she gets instructions
  322. [00:07] <[Kly]Amy> Uh huh, uh huh... that's all? I think I'm done.
  323. [00:07] <[GM]IRIS> ...and make sure your booby-plates are in place!
  324. [00:08] <[Kly]Amy> Oh! Right. Now I'm done.
  325. [00:08] <[GM]Mary> As if on cue, the Magnus plates start glowing.
  326. [00:08] <[Rut]Abiella> ...
  327. [00:08] <[GM]IRIS> /Five... four... three... two.../
  328. [00:09] * [Kly]Amy shuts her eyes
  329. [00:09] <[GM]Mary> Before he gets to one, you hear three distant crashes, and you're sent back to the future once again...
  330. [23:58] <[GM]Mary> The lights dim, the station trembles, and gravity alleviates for a split second: signs of activity at the time chamber.
  331. [00:00] * [Nom]Kleio hops over to the time chamber to greet the returning chrononauts
  332. [00:10] * [Kly]Amy opens one eye, and takes a look around
  333. [00:11] <[GM]Mary> You're back in the egg-like chamber, which goes from white to grey to black in a few seconds. A few moments later, light pours out before you from a rectangular hatch.
  334. [00:12] * [Mode]Nao sighs in relief at being back on the station.
  335. [00:12] * [Kly]Amy opens her other eye, and blinks a few times. This time travel stuff is really weird...
  336. [00:12] * [GM]IRIS throws up her sunglasses and looks dramatically surprised at her pretend-wristwatch
  337. [00:13] <[Rut]Abiella> And our body of heroes, with spirits determined and faith unquenchable returns from their quest to alter history... Ow!
  338. [00:13] * [Rut]Abiella attempts to flick her hammer through her fingers, but drops it on her toe instead.
  339. [00:15] * [Mode]Nao proceeds to the hatch, exiting the time chamber and stretching her arms over her head.
  340. [00:15] <[Mode]Nao> Ah! Good to be home!
  341. [00:16] <[Kly]Amy> I guess I should leave, too...
  342. [00:17] * [Kly]Amy follows after Nao
  343. [00:18] * [Rut]Abiella picks her whatchamacallit up and skips after them.
  344. [00:21] * [Mode]Nao heads towards the changing rooms.
  345. [00:21] <[Mode]Nao> I'm going to take a warm bath and crawl into bed...
  346. [00:21] * DrKleine calls over the intercom:
  347. [00:22] <DrKleine> Good work, ladies. Put up your equipment and relax the rest of the day.
  348. [00:25] <[Nom]Kleio> "To think we live in a time machine and every mission we have to -wait- for them to get back"
  349. [00:28] <[Rut]Abiella> "Ask yourself whether the dream of heaven and greatness should be waiting for us in our graves... or whether it should be ours here and now." Of course, having time travel helps with that, yes?
