  17. In the first column, the stress is on the first syllable (of “person”, not “one person”)
  18. In the second column, there is stress on a later syllable.
  19. - in “his story” and “corrector” it’s on the second syllable
  20. - in “IV”, “two tours”, and “home sick”, both parts get equal stress
  21. (You’ll need to take the students to tours. - “to” is unstressed and “tours” is stressed.)

  41. In compound nouns, the first noun has the highest stress.
  42. adj. + noun: I am not an English teacher. = I am not a teacher from England.
  43. With adjective+noun pairs, both words have (more or less) equal stress.
