  3. After much messing about with the broken radio, a wheezing, whistling news reporter was delivering the news amidst loud white noise.
  4.
  5. "The 9.4 magnitude earthquake has sent half of the country reeling as a new wave of aftershocks, tsunamis and missing persons hit the entire North American continent. Millions are feared to be dead, thousands of cities devastated and... ' the radio broke off.
  6.
  7. Gin sighed and got up. 'Tobi, there's been an earthquake. A huge one.'
  8.
  9. Tobi groaned, 'Oh man! How are we supposed to get back to civilization now?'
  10.
  11. 'If I were you I would be more worried about civilization. At least we're stuck in a forest and not in kilometres of rubble.'
  12.
  13. Gin and Tobi were two friends from Seattle who decided one day to wake up and go camping in a forest. But as luck would have it, on the day they were about to leave, a disastrous earthquake struck and took down the bridge connecting the mainland.
  14.
  15. After getting the shock and scare of their lives, the two boys assessed the situation and immediately panicked. Gin found a flowing stream of water and Tobi found a handful of nut trees and found a lot of cashew nuts and pistachios.
  16.
  17. Both Gin and Tobi had to endure hunger for many days as there was not much to eat. At day, the birds chirped from the treetops as the radiant sunlight tanned their skins and at night, the entire forest livened up as monkeys, jaguars, and insects danced and pranced, ruling over the forest and living the noisy, nocturnal life.
  18.
  19. They had to do all their hunting, gathering and scavenging by day to ensure their safety at night since there could be dangerous predators on the stroll, ready to pounce on them for a quick snack.
  20.
  21. After 2 gruelling weeks, they were finally rescued by a search party trying to make their way through the forest and to Seattle to find the Mayor, and their lucky tale was emblazoned on the pages of newspapers tomorrow morning.
