これでオスカーの戦いには予定通り出られそうだ」
Chris: Hraesvelg’s repairs are all done. Looks like we’ll be able to join the Oscar operation like planned.

アーク
「ねえ、クリス」
Arque: Hey, Chris.

クリス
「どうした?」
Chris: What is it?

アーク
「一度だけ言わせて」
Arque: I just want to say this one time.

アーク
「…やっぱり、怖い」
Arque: ...I’m really scared, after all.

クリス
「ああ…」
Chris: Me too...

アーク
「おかしいわよね、[幻体]なのに…。
もう死んでるのに、死ぬのが怖いなんて」
Arque: It’s strange being a [Meta-Body], isn’t it...? I’ll be dead very soon, but I’m still afraid of dying...

クリス
「おかしくはないさ。
ソゴル・キョウに言わせれば、俺達は生きている」
Chris: It’s not strange at all. Like Kyo Sogoru said, we’re still alive.

クリス
「痛みを知る心を持ち、
お前がいて、俺がいる」
Chris: We’re both alive. Our hearts are both familiar with pain...

クリス
「俺達は、人間だ…」
Chris: Because we’re human...

アーク
「彼は、いつだって前向きね…」
Arque: He’s always so positive, isn’t he...?

アーク
「決めたわ、私」
Arque: I’ve decided.

クリス
「ああ、俺も決めたよ」
Chris: Yeah, I’ve decided too.

アーク
「クリスも?何を?」
Arque: You too? Decided what?

クリス
「内緒だ」
Chris: It’s a secret.

アーク
「ふふっ、じゃあ、私も内緒」
Arque: Hmhm, alright. Then I’ll keep my decision secret too.

クリス
「フッ…行こうか、アーク」
Chris: Heh... Let’s go, Arque.

「全員揃ったようだな。
では、第3次オスカー殲滅作戦の説明を行う」
Shima: It looks like everyone is here. Now, I’ll begin the briefing on the 3rd Oscar Annihilation Operation.

キョウ
「ちょっと待った。
何でラー・カイラムのパイロットが
こっちのブリーフィングにいるんだ?」
Kyo: Hang on. Why are there Ra Cailum pilots here for the briefing?

クリス
「それも含めてなんだろ、司令?」
Chris: You’re planning to include them as well, Commander?

シマ
「その通りだ。
葛城二佐、まずそちらのメンバーの件は
お願いします」
Shima: Indeed. Let’s begin with your members, Lieutenant Colonel Katsuragi.

ミサト
「はい。
レイ、凱君、ショウ君、鉄也君、宙君、
最後にバナージ君」
Misato: Right. This is Rei, Show, Tetsuya, Hiroshi, and lastly, Banagher.

ミサト
「この6名は当作戦において、
一時的にオケアノスへの配属となったわ」
Misato: These six have been temporarily assigned to the Oceanus for the operation.

チャム
「ちょっと待って! あたしもいるわよ!」
Cham: Hold your horses! I’m here too!

ミサト
「ああ、そうだったわね。
ごめんなさい、チャム」
Misato: Ah, that’s right. Sorry about that, Cham.

メイイェン
「みんながオケアノスに…」
May-Yen: All of them came to the Oceanus...

シマ
「これらのメンバーの一時的な配属は、
作戦中における不測の事態に備えたものだ」
Shima: These temporarily assigned members are here as contingencies for unforeseeable circumstances that may arise during the operation.

ミサト
「あまり考えたくないけれど、
[デフテラ領域]に辿り着くまでに
ラー・カイラムに何かあるかも知れないから」
Misato: The remaining units on the Ra Cailum should be enough to reach the [Deutera Zone].

ルーシェン
「予め各艦の戦力を分けておくというわけか」
Lu-Shen: I see you’ve already divided up the forces for each ship beforehand.

ミナト
「それに、エヴァ零号機のA.T.フィールドは
デフテラ領域侵攻において、オケアノスを
敵の攻撃から守り、[QL]の温存に一役買ってくれるわ」
Minato: EVA Unit-00’s A.T. Field will be able to defend against enemy attacks and conserve the Oceanus’s [QL] for when we attack the Deutera Zone.

キョウ
「バリアが張れるオケアノスにも
わざわざエヴァの守りを必要とするなんて、
それだけの戦いなんだな…」
Kyo: So even though the Oceanus can deploy its own shield, this fight will be so tough we’ll still need an EVA to protect it...

シマ
「オスカー殲滅作戦は、
過去に二度失敗したほどの困難な作戦だ」
Shima: The Oscar Annihilation Operation is such a grueling task that it has ended in failure twice in the past.

シマ
「敵の激しい抵抗が予想されるため、
上海サーバー回収作戦と同様、彼らには
デフテラ領域突入の支援に当たってもらう」
Shima: As heavy enemy resistance is expected, they will be supporting us as we penetrate the Deutera Zone, just as they did during the operation to recover the Shanghai Server.

メイウー
「デフテラコアの破壊はいつも通り、
私達の担当ってわけね」
May-Yu: Then that would leave us in charge of destroying the Deutera Core, just like before.

キョウ
「デフテラに入れる機体は限られてるからな。
ハルトのヴァルヴレイヴがいてくれりゃ、
助かるんだが…」
Kyo: There’s only so many machines that can get inside the Deutera. It’d be a big help if Haruto and his Valvrave were here, but...

シマ
「いや、今回、デフテラ領域内に突入する機体は
[ゼーガペイン]だけではない」
Shima: No, this time, it will not just be the [Zegapains] that enter the Deutera Zone.

キョウ
「どういうこった…?」
Kyo: What do you mean?

凱
「俺のガオガイガーも
デフテラコアの破壊作戦に参加する」
Guy: Me and GaoGaiGar will be joining the operation to destroy the Deutera Core.

キョウ
「何だって!?」
Kyo: Are you serious!?

シマ
「上海サーバー回収の作戦で、ヴァルヴレイヴIが
デフテラ領域内で活動できたことを確認して以来、
我々は密かに様々な分析を続けてきた」
Shima: Ever since the Shanghai Server recovery operation, where Valvrave I was proven able to operate within the Deutera Zone, we have secretly been conducting studies as to how that was possible.

シマ
「まだヴァルヴレイヴから出る
光の正体は掴めていないが、分析の一環で
ホロニックローダーにおける光装甲…」
Shima: We have yet to understand the true depth of the light the Valvrave emanates, but during part of our analysis of the Holonic Loader’s light armor...

シマ
「この役目を、[Gストーン]が発するエネルギーも
類似した形で担い、デフテラ領域内で
活動可能だということが理論上判明した」
Shima: We came to the theory that the [G-Stone] could produce energy in a similar manner that would allow it to function within a Deutera Zone.

シズノ
「ガオガイガーに循環するGストーンのエネルギーが
機体を守っているということ?」
Shizuno: Does that mean that the G-Stone’s energy flowing through GaoGaiGar is able to protect the machine?

ディータ
「そのようなものだと考えてくれて構いません」
Dita: We believe it is something similar to that, yes.

キョウ
「まさか、あの時のハルトの咄嗟の行動が、
こういう結果に繋がるなんてな…」
Kyo: Never thought Haruto’s spur of the moment rescue would lead to this...

クリス
「理論上ではそうかも知れないが、
実際にデフテラ領域へ突入して無事である
確証はないのだろう? いいのか?」
Chris: The theory’s there, sure, but there’s no way to know guaranteed if it can really make it through a Deutera Zone. You sure you want to do this?

凱
「覚悟は出来ているさ」
Guy: I’m more than prepared.

ミサト
「ここでもし、オスカー殲滅作戦に失敗すれば、
最悪の場合はゼーガペインを失うことになるわ」
Misato: In the event that it fails to function during the Oscar Annihilation Operation, then worst case scenario, the Zegapains could be lost.

シマ
「もちろんデフテラ領域への突入に支障があると
判断した場合は、ゼーガペインのみで
作戦を続行するプランも想定している」
Shima: Naturally we have also crafted a plan to complete the operation with our Zegapains alone should GaoGaiGar prove unable to enter the Deutera Zone.

宙
「要は出たとこ勝負ってわけだ。
ま、やるしかないよな」
Hiroshi: So basically, we’re just leaving it up to chance. I suppose there’s nothing else to do but hope for the best then.

シマ
「では、デフテラコアの破壊任務を
担当するメンバーを発表する。
キョウ、シズノ、ルーシェン、メイウー、凱…」
Shima: Now, these are the members whose objective will be to destroy the Deutera Core. Kyo, Shizuno, Lu-Shen, May-Yu, Guy...

シマ
「そして、クリス、アークだ」
Shima: And Chris and Arque.

Kyo: ...!

「レイ、あなたには危険な役目を
お願いして悪いわね」
Arque: I’m sorry we have to ask you to do something so dangerous, Rei.

レイ
「私は命令に従って、
オケアノスを守るだけだから」
Rei: I will protect the Oceanus because I have been ordered to.

アーク
「…みんなは私達と違って、生きているんだから
無理はしないようにね」
Arque: ...You’re alive, unlike us. Just don’t do anything reckless.

レイ
「………」
Rei: ...

バナージ
「そんな風に言わないで下さい。
生きているのはアークさん達だって同じですよ」
Banagher: Please don’t talk like that. You and the others are alive just like us, Arque.

凱
「アーク、君の身体のことは聞いてるよ。
今回の作戦、本当に大丈夫なのか?」
Guy: I’ve heard about the condition you’re in, Arque. Are you really sure you’ll be alright?

アーク
「大丈夫よ。
私はまだ戦える。戦いたい」
Arque: I’m sure. I can still fight. And I want to fight.

シズノ
「………」
Shizuno: ...

アーク
「最初は小さな存在だった。
まだ[ガルズオルム]なんて名前もない頃…
でも、彼らが人間から生命と幸せを奪った」
Arque: The [GARDS-ORM] were small at first. They didn’t even have a name at one point... But now they’ve robbed humanity of its lives and its happiness.

アーク
「私達がサーバーで目覚めた時、
世界は一変していた…。だから、戦う。
生命と幸せを取り返すために、ガルズオルムと…」
Arque: When we woke up on the Server, we saw that the world had completely changed... So we fought. To take back our lives and our happiness from the GARDS-ORM...

キョウ
「アーク…」
Kyo: Arque...

(そこまで言うなら、止められないな)
Hiroshi: (If that’s how she feels, we won’t be able to stop her from going.)

クリス
「パリで死に、パリサーバーも破壊され、
フリーランスの傭兵になってからも、
度々死線を彷徨った」
Chris: She died in Paris, and then the Paris Server was destroyed. After becoming a freelance mercenary, we walked the boundary between life and death countless times.

クリス
「今さら捨てても惜しくない生命だが、
問題は捨て方だ。いつ、どこで、誰のために…」

Tetsuya: Are you planning to die?

クリス

Chris: Don’t get me wrong. I’m just saying I’m prepared for it. And will be until the end.

バナージ
「クリスさん、アークさん。
幻体のみんなだって生きてるんだって、
俺は思っています」
Banagher: Mr. Chris, Mrs. Arque. I’m convinced that all of the Meta-Bodies are alive.

アーク
「ありがとう、バナージ」
Arque: Thank you, Banagher.

クリス
「キョウ、並行世界の連中は、
お前みたいに考える奴が多いらしいな」
Chris: Seems a lot of people in the parallel worlds think like you do, Kyo.

キョウ
「ああ」
Kyo: Yeah.

クリス
「作戦が始まるまで、まだ時間がある。
少し頼みがあるんだが」
Chris: There’s still some time before the next operation. Mind doing a little favor for me?

キョウ
「頼み…?」
Kyo: A favor...?

カミナギ
「クリスさんもアークさんもとってもいい笑顔!
素敵です!」
Kaminagi: Arque, you and Chris both have great smiles! You guys look great!

アーク
「ふふ、ありがとう」
Arque: Hmhm, thank you.

クリス
「撮るのが上手なんだな。
君に頼んで良かったよ」
Chris: You’re a good photographer. I’m glad we got you to do this for us.

カミナギ
「お役に立てたなら、何よりです。
キョウちゃんにいきなりカメラマンやれって
言われた時は驚いちゃいましたけど…」
Kaminagi: I’m just happy to help. Although I was surprised when Kyo asked me to be a photographer out of the blue...

キョウ
「カミナギなら引き受けてくれると思ってさ」
Kyo: I knew you’d be up for the job, Kaminagi.

シズノ
「ごめんなさいね。急に呼び出して…」
Shizuno: Sorry to call you on such short notice...

カミナギ
「いえ、任せて下さい。
クリスさん達にはこの間、お世話になりましたから」
Kaminagi: No, it’s fine. Chris and Arque really helped me out the other day anyways.

クリス
「世話になっているのは俺達の方さ。
今日もこんな可愛い子犬を迎えることが出来た」
Chris: We’re the ones that need helping out. Just today, we got ourselves that cute little puppy.

シズノ
「あら、子犬じゃなくて、
きちんと名前で呼んであげないの?」
Shizuno: Come on, shouldn’t you call him by his name rather than just “puppy”?

カミナギ
「ピエタ、ですよね。
クリスさんがアークさんにプロポーズした時の
パブの名前だって」
Kaminagi: It was Pieta, wasn’t it? You named him after the bar you proposed to Arque in, right?

クリス
「ああ…」
Chris: Yeah...

カミナギ
「高校生相手にのろけないで下さいよ。
ねえ、キョウちゃん?」
Kaminagi: You were really going on and on about yourselves earlier. Right, Kyo?

キョウ
「………」
Kyo: ...

カミナギ
「キョウちゃん?」
Kaminagi: Kyo?

クリス
「楽しくやろう、今日だけは。
こうしている方が余計なことを考えずに済む」
Chris: Let’s just have fun for today, alright? It’s better than pulling your hair out with worry.

キョウ
「ごめん。俺、鈍いわ」
Kyo: Sorry. I’m just a little out of it.

アーク
「充分優しいわよ。
シズノなんて、出会った時は陰気な顔ばかりで、
周りの空気を悪くする名人だったわよ」
Arque: It’s fine. You know, Shizuno had such a gloomy face when I first met her. She was practically a master at making everyone else feel bad.

シズノ
「それは悪かったわね。どこかの誰かみたいに、
陽気な顔ばかりってわけにはいかなくて」
Shizuno: Oh, so sorry about that. I just couldn’t stand to be cheerful all the time like a certain someone.

カミナギ
「えっと…あの…」
Kaminagi: Um... Er...

クリス
「気にしなくてもいい。
この二人、最初は仲が悪かったんだ」
Chris: Don’t worry about them. Those two couldn’t get along at all at first.

キョウ
「そうなのか?」
Kyo: Is that right?

アーク
「ええ。それがいつの間にかセーヌ川沿いの
カフェで、ケーキをヤケ食いする仲」
Arque: Yes. And then before we knew it, we ended up in a café on the riverside of the Seine, eating cake.

シズノ
「ミッションが上手く行かなかった時、
お互い、気分が悪くなるまでね。
大変だったわ、ふふ…」
Shizuno: We were both pretty down when the mission didn’t go so well. Heh, I remember it was a difficult one...

カミナギ
(シズノ先輩のあんな笑顔、見るの初めて…。
アークさんと一緒の画、撮っておきたいな…)
Kaminagi: (I’ve never seen Shizuno smile like that before... I wish I could take a picture of her and Arque together...)

(An electrical sound effect plays and the world suddenly distorts for Kaminagi.)

カミナギ
「…えっ?」
Kaminagi: ...Huh?

キョウ
「どうかしたのか、カミナギ?」
Kyo: What’s wrong, Kaminagi?

カミナギ
「アークさんが消えかけて…
え、え?街が壊れて…何で?どうして?」
Kaminagi: Arque just disappeared... A-And the city was destroyed... What... What was that...?

シズノ
「…!」
Shizuno: ...!

クリス
「この子、もしかして…」
Chris: Hey, could this girl be...?

カミナギ
「キョウちゃん…?みんな…?
私…」
Kaminagi: Kyo...? You guys...? I...

(Arque hugs Kaminagi.)

カミナギ
「…!?」
Kaminagi: ...!?

アーク
「落ち着いて、大丈夫よ…」
Arque: It’s okay, settle down...

カミナギ
「アーク…さん…?」
Kaminagi: Arque...?

アーク
「心配しなくてもいいわ。
あなたの傍には、守ってくれる人が…
彼がいるわ。そうでしょう?」
Arque: You don’t need to worry about anything. You’ve got someone beside you that will keep you safe... He’s right there, isn’t he?

カミナギ
「キョウ、ちゃん…」
Kaminagi: Kyo...

キョウ
「カミナギ…」
Kyo: Kaminagi...

アーク
「ね? 落ち着いたかしら?」
Arque: So? Settled down now?

カミナギ
「…はい。
すみません、急に変なこと言って」
Kaminagi: ...Yes. I’m sorry, I said some weird things out of nowhere there.

シズノ
「今も周りが廃墟に見える?」
Shizuno: Does it still look like the city’s in ruins?

カミナギ
「いえ、もう普通です。
あはは、何だったんでしょうね」
Kaminagi: No, it’s totally normal. Ahaha, man, what was up with me?

クリス
「きっと疲れていたんだよ。
俺達が連れ回したせいだな」
Chris: Must have been tired. Probably from us leading you around all day.

キョウ
「…ったく、しっかりしろよな。
脚本を書くために夜更かしばっかしてるんだろ。
それともゲームか?」
Kyo: ...Geez, get a grip, would ya? I bet you stayed up all night working on the script. Or were you just playing games?

カミナギ
「キョウちゃんに言われたくなーい!」
Kaminagi: I don’t want to hear that from you!

シズノ
「………」
Shizuno: ...

アーク
「ごめんなさいね、シズノ。
あそこで彼の名前を出したの、
フェアじゃなかったわね」
Arque: It probably wasn’t fair for me to name the puppy after that spot. I’m sorry, Shizuno.

シズノ
「いいわ。そういう所もあなたらしいもの」
Shizuno: It’s fine. It’s a special place for you two.

クリス
「…さて、そろそろ時間だな」
Chris: ...Well, it’s about time.

アーク
「リョーコ。
一枚、写真をお願いしていいかしら?
あなたも入れて、みんなで映りたいの」
Arque: Ryoko, would you take a picture for me? And I’d like you to be in it too.

カミナギ
「もちろんいいですよ。それじゃ!」
Kaminagi: Of course, I’d love to. One sec!

(The screen flashes and the camera takes a picture.)

カミナギ
「はい、オッケーでーす」
Kaminagi: Okay, looks good!

アーク
「今日はありがとう。
おかげで楽しい一日だったわ」
Arque: Thanks for today. We had some fun memories because of you.

カミナギ
「私の方こそ。
写真、必ず送ります。
見て下さいね、アークさん」
Kaminagi: Me too. I’ll be sure to send you a copy of the picture, Arque.

アーク
「…リョーコ、悪いけど、
ピエタを夕方まで預かってくれない?」
Arque: ...I hate to ask this, but could you look after Pieta for the evening, Ryoko?

カミナギ
「えっ?」
Kaminagi: Huh?

キョウ
「頼むよ、カミナギ。
ちょっと野暮用があるんだってよ」
Kyo: Go ahead, Kaminagi. We’ve got some stuff to take care of.

アーク
「お願いね」
Arque: Please.

カミナギ
「わかりました。
それじゃ、お預かりします」
Kaminagi: Okay.  Just leave him to me.

クリス
「じゃあ、行こうか」
Chris: Alright, then we’ll be off.

シズノ
「ええ」
Shizuno: Yes, let’s.

(Kyo’s Celebrant symbol lights up on his forehead.)

キョウ
(戻ってくる…必ず4人で!)
Kyo: (We’ll definitely come back... All four of us!)

『残るまぼろし』
Episode 66
Lingering Illusions


(Scene begins on a map screen of the Pacific Ocean. The Ra Cailum and the Oceanus are on the map. On the opposite side is the edge of a large Deutera Zone.)

ミサト
「あれがオスカーと呼ばれるデフテラ領域。
データで確認していた通り、巨大ですね…」
Misato: So that’s the Deutera Zone known as Oscar. Just like the data said, it’s enormous...

ミナト
「ここまでの警戒は
さほど厳しくなかったけれど…」
Minato: Their defenses weren’t very strong up till this point but...

渓
「迎撃部隊が出て来た…!」
Kei: Their interception force is coming out...!

(GARDS-ORM Ulvorfurs appear.)

ミサト
「やはり、ゼーガペインしか突入戦力がないと見て、
周辺の警戒レベルを下げているようですね」
Misato: I figured this would be the case. They think only the Zegapains can break inside, so their security level is low up to here.

ブライト
「とは言え、デフテラ領域から出て来ない限り、
こちらからは向こうの動きを感知できん」
Bright: That said, we can’t even detect their movements unless they come out of the Deutera Zone.

シマ
「ブライト大佐、作戦通りに
まずは突入部隊のルートの確保を」
Shima: Captain Bright, please proceed with the plan and secure a route for the infiltration force.

ブライト
「ガオガイガーと、
ゼーガペイン各機は指示があるまで待機。
残りの各機は出撃せよ」
Bright: Have GaoGaiGar and the Zegapains on standby until instructed otherwise. All remaining units, launch.

(The player’s team deploys.)

キョウ
「みんな、任せちまって悪いな」
Kyo: Sorry to put this all on you guys.

甲児
「気にすんな!
その代わり、デフテラ領域の中は頼むぜ!」
Koji: Don’t worry about it! You just take care of things inside the Deutera Zone!

万丈
「僕らに出来るのは、露払いぐらいだしね」
Banjo: We can at least serve as the opening act.

凱
「必ずデフテラコアは破壊する!
だから、みんな頼むぞ!」
Guy: We’ll destroy the Deutera Core no matter what! Good luck, guys!

クリス
「…余所の世界のことだって言うのに、
ホントお人好しばかりだ」
Chris: ...They really are a bunch of softies, doing all this for a world that isn’t their own.

アーク
「ふふ、そうね。
今日は調子がいいわ。身体が軽い」
Arque: Hmhm, they really are. I’m feeling much better today. My body feels light.

クリス
「そうか。良かった」
Chris: Oh yeah? Good to hear it.

アーク
「………」
Arque: ...

(Battle 1 begins.)

(Battle 1 ends when all enemies are defeated.)

シマ
「デフテラ領域までの道は開いた…!」
Shima: The path to the Deutera Zone is clear...!

ブライト
「作戦を最終フェイズに移行する。
突入部隊を出撃させろ」
Bright: The operation is entering its last phase. Infiltration force, launch.

(Kyo, Lu-Shen, Chris, and Guy appear.)

キョウ
「やっと来たぜ、出番が!」
Kyo: It’s finally our turn!

伊奈帆
「みんな、気を付けて」
Inaho: Be careful, everyone.

バナージ
「俺達に出来ることはここまでです。
後は頼みます」
Banagher: This is all we can do. The rest is up to you.

アーク
「頼むも何も、むしろ助かったわ。
ホントは私達だけでやるはずだった作戦だもの」
Arque: Please, don’t sound disappointed. You were of great help. We’d have had to do this on our own if it wasn’t for you all.

クリス
「ま、離れた所でのんびり見ていてくれ。
コアはきっちり破壊してくる」
Chris: Well, now you can just sit back and enjoy the show. That core’s going down.

鉄也
「…死に急ぐなよ、クリス」
Tetsuya: ...Don’t be in a rush to die, Chris.

クリス
「フッ、俺達傭兵はいつだって死と隣り合わせさ」
Chris: Heh, we mercenaries always go hand-in-hand with death.

アキト
「………」
Akito: ...

キョウ
「格好付けてんじゃねえ、クリス!
全員で生きて帰ってくるんだ!」
Kyo: Cut it out with that, Chris! We’re all coming back from this alive!

ルーシェン
「フッ…」
Lu-Shen: Heh...

凱
「みんな、行こう!」
Guy: Let’s do this, guys!

(The 3 Zegapains and Guy rush into the Deutera Zone and the screen fades to white.)

Guy:  I’m smashing that Deutera Core! Out of my way!!

(Battle 2 ends when either Abyss’s or Sin’s HP falls below 60%. I lowered Abyss’s HP.)

Shizuno: He’s using Banishment Mode!? And he removed the limiter!?

Chris: HRRRAAAAAAAGH!!

(Chris rushes Abyss and slams into him.)

アークは貴様らとの戦いで、転送障害に追い込まれた!
アークをこんな姿にしたのは貴様らだ!」
Chris: This is fate...! The transmission failure that doomed Arque happened while she was fighting you! You’re the one who took her away from me!

Chris: Die, Abyss!

(Chris drags Abyss to the Deutera Core and slams him against it.)

「フリスベルグの自爆まで、残り150秒!」
May-Yu: 150 seconds until Hraesvelg self-destructs!
