(2:41:03 PM) ***Blueshift_North is waiting for the others at a chain coffee shop.  She's wearing a similar hoodie and shorts combo to what she had on earlier, and is back in her blue hair this time.  She looks. . . very nervous.  She's very clearly aware of where everyone around her is, and is shifting slightly to make sure she's as far away from anyone else as possible.
(2:44:17 PM) ***Reise arrives in a tight LBD and heels, with a suit jacket thrown over one shoulder, blonde hair in a ponytail as normal. She spots Blueshift easily and heads over toward her. "Hey. Neciel's s'posed to be coming with what she can pry out of Azorius' fingers."
(2:45:31 PM) ***Blueshift_North jumps a little.  "Cool.  That's." She runs a hand through her hair, absently.  "Good."
(2:53:57 PM) Reise: It's obvious to her that Blueshift is more on edge than normal, but she doesn't press. Not yet. "Meantime, I owe her two rounds at the bar for the attempt. Want anything?"
(2:56:05 PM) Blueshift_North: ". . . Coffee.  Would be good."
(2:57:51 PM) Reise: "Alrighty. I'll put in extra caffeine, just for you."
(2:58:52 PM) Blueshift_North: "Alright.  Thanks.  And uh.  Thanks.  Yeah." She settles down a bit but is still on edge.
(3:02:00 PM) ***Reise watches her with some concern for a few seconds...then heads off toward the cashiers. She returns a minute later with a large paper cup with a plastic lid, steam faintly wafting from the tiny opening therein. "Here. This has about eighteen syllables too many to be a legitimate cup of coffee."
(3:03:27 PM) ***Blueshift_North accepts and starts drinking it instantly.  "I'll get you the money for it." She says, before muttering.  "Forgot I didn't buy anything."

(3:05:25 PM) Blueshift_North: ". . . I would protest but I don't have the energy to have that argument right now."

(3:08:38 PM) Reise: She folds her arms over her chest and looks down at Blueshift.

(3:13:08 PM) ***Blueshift_North looks at her, and for a second her eyes go hollow, before the suddenly become very oddly intense, and vibrant.  She leans in.  "I opened the locks in my head.  And I want you to think for a second about the thing I would want least to be locked inside my head.  And realize it's there."
(3:14:45 PM) Reise: She stares back at Blueshift, eyes narrow, while she considers what candidates that could mean...and then abruptly she pales. A lot. "You're shitting me."
(3:15:46 PM) Blueshift_North: "I can show you video evidence of the worst few moments I've lived if you want proof."
(3:23:09 PM) Reise: "No." She shakes her head. "Gods...I just...fuck." She rests her hands on the table so they stop trying to clench into fists. "And...obviously you're not okay, but...you're still you. So you got it...back under control?"
(3:26:15 PM) Blueshift_North: "As. . . much as I can.  It's back where I found it, though it's reached through that before, so I don't know if it'll hold forever.  And every time it breaks I- it hurts people I care about."
(3:30:33 PM) Reise: She nods slowly as color starts to come back into her face. "But I haven't heard anything else, so I assume that whomever might have been hurt, but they're better now."
(3:31:32 PM) Blueshift_North: "Y-yeah.  Sunstar is good at what she does, and. . . Let's just say I'm glad I was in a safe place when I did that." She slumps.
(3:36:26 PM) ***Reise frowns and reaches over the table. Her hand hitches, almost hesitating, then settles on Blueshift's shoulder. "The important thing is that no one's gone, which means we can all keep working on keeping you, you, right?"

(3:45:31 PM) Ikiryo: "Legal Analyst Edrea Ellowuyr" She bows slightly to them. "I am here as a representitive of the Azorius guild."
(3:46:22 PM) Blueshift_North: "Nice to meet you." She tries to compose herself so she looks less like a mess.  It sort of works.  A bit.  Not really.

(3:47:26 PM) Ikiryo: "Now, your associate a Miss Neciel is currently filling out paperwork for us. However, what has been completed already should allow an amount of interdepartmental cooperation."

(11:55:30 AM) Ikiryo: "Very well. We were called after the sounds of shots fired and found the resteraunt abandoned, with signs a gunfight had occured. In addition there were four bodies found there, none of which lined up with the owner or employees."

(11:57:31 AM) Ikiryo: "Crime scene reconstruction has provided some information but there are many unclear points still."

(11:58:27 AM) Reise: "Were the bodies all belonging to the attackers, then? Or were they customers?"
(12:00:09 PM) Blueshift_North: "Actually wait do you have like, a hologram reconstruction on what you currently think happen? Can you do that? Did TV lie to me?"
(12:01:20 PM) Ikiryo: "No weapons were found on the bodies, however thier hands have a rather archaic autogun powder residue on them. We believe them to be attackers." She nods to Blueshift. "We do, yes. Under Provision X7WS, Television is not allowed to lie about Azorius activities or functionality."
(12:02:00 PM) Blueshift_North: "Oh.  Cool.  Are we allowed to see that?"
(12:02:17 PM) Blueshift_North: "I would appreciate that."
(12:02:57 PM) Ikiryo: "It would require paperwork for approval."
(12:04:01 PM) Blueshift_North: "Okay nevermind.  Do you have a working theory on what happened to the owner? Also can we get access to the crime scene?"
(12:05:22 PM) Ikiryo: "The paperwork for the latter is currently being completed. I will inform you when it is finished." She nods. "We believe the owner killed the attackers and fled. Her military record indicates that she would have the skills for such."

(12:07:43 PM) Ikiryo: "Currently, that is unknown. She has no listed connections, next of kin or additional housing on Sigil. We are performing invesigations to attempt to track her."
(12:09:45 PM) Reise: [To: Blueshift - Think you can think like a Cygnaran? We could see if she found Abby, too.] "Thanks, then."
(12:10:51 PM) Ikiryo: "Do you have additional questions or areas that require clarification?"
(12:12:28 PM) Blueshift_North: [Abby? Sorry, I'm blanking.] "Do you think that was all of the attackers? And do you have theories on their identity."
(12:13:22 PM) Reise: "You'll probably get an official request for Galaxy Police liaising soon."
(12:13:33 PM) Reise: [Abby's the gunmage we rescued from the needles.]
(12:14:02 PM) Ikiryo: "Currently, we are working on the idea that they are related to her previous military service. All of the attackers are ethnically Cygnaran, even if some records indicate they would be otherwise. We doubt it was all of the attackers, or else she would have had little reason to flee."

(12:23:00 PM) Reise: [Not like your chick did, but I think she's doing her own thing, yeah.]
(12:23:50 PM) Blueshift_North: "Do you have any leads on them?"
(12:25:04 PM) Ikiryo: "All of them arrived, seperately about a week ago. While they all did list different planets as the original, each of them transfered to respective ships from Cygnaran vessels."

(12:29:42 PM) Ikiryo: "There were four ships. The CNS Los Angeles, CNS Wasp, CNS Cyclone and CNS Tornado."

(12:53:26 PM) Reise: "Miss Ellowuyr, did your folks check the restaurant for portals of any sort?"
(12:56:11 PM) Ikiryo: She nods. "While there is magical residue, we have yet to locate any specific portals...however departmental resources are not as high as we would like."

(12:57:31 PM) Reise: [To: Blueshift - All those ships are military. The Cyclone and Tornado are CIA. And remember how she mentioned the old residue on the dead guys? More gunmages...so this was a BIG Cygnar-organized hit on your friend. Like, an official one. And since there's so many people missing, they couldn't have taken normal streets without a LOT of illusions, so it's either a portal or the sewers.]

(2:54:19 AM) Reise: Thankfully the painful attempts at smalltalk disappear after perhaps ten minutes, leaving Reise to her thoughts while waiting for word on completion of paperwork from Neciel.

(3:37:11 AM) Reise: [And you can *throw* ice.] Now that they're inside she takes to doing her searching the scene. "Don't forget we're looking for anything that might resemble a portal. Or, I suppose, a secret exit."
(3:38:09 AM) Ikiryo: The steakhouse in question is large and multi-story with lots of fake wood to give a very classical cygnaran look.

(4:04:42 AM) Ikiryo: She nods. "Rather so." She frowns. "There are some odd mystical feelings about this area."

(4:08:42 AM) Ikiryo: "A lot of magic was used in this area but much of it is scattered, hard to identify as particular spells."
(4:10:46 AM) Reise: "Considering all your corpses are gunmages, that doesn't surprise me."
(4:11:14 AM) Ikiryo: She raises an eyebrow. "Oh, yes? We had not found any magesteel weapons."
(4:12:40 AM) Reise: "No, but you said yourself they were covered in 'archaic powder residue.' Most gunmages don't bother using modern ammo types, though I couldn't say if that's out of stubborn tradition or if there's actually something wrong with the newer ammo that fucks up their rune shots."
(4:13:34 AM) Ikiryo: She nods. "That is a good point and lines up well with our existing theories. Magesteel is valuable enough that any survivors would have taken them with them."
(4:13:35 AM) Reise: "And those ship names you gave us? They're all Cygnar-military. My guess is Ky--uh, Blueshift's friend here angered some folks back home who came out to tie up a loose end and she still beat the pants off 'em>"
(4:15:25 AM) Reise: "Exactly. And Miss Martinez is supposed to be a gunmage herself, so stocking up with extra weapons when going on the run is good survival practice."
(4:16:02 AM) ***Blueshift_North sighs.  "Which still doesn't get us any closer to finding her."
(4:17:17 AM) Reise: "Not unless you know someone who can use--what'd Khaira call it? Sympathetic magic?--to track the magesteel guns through the dead guys' hair or something."
(4:18:38 AM) ***Blueshift_North goes to rummage around in a pile of broken chairs.  "Hold up."
(4:20:46 AM) Ikiryo: Under the pile she finds an old pistol, a revolver. It's made of a bright silvery metal.
(4:21:16 AM) Reise: "Oh, you actually DID find one?"
(4:21:26 AM) Blueshift_North: "Yeah."
(4:22:48 AM) Ikiryo: The eldarin frowns...drawing a thin, slightly curved blade from her side...a matching metal. "That is indeed magesteel."
(4:24:05 AM) Blueshift_North: "So what do we do with it?"
(4:29:42 AM) ***Reise jerks a thumb at Edrea. "Probably wait for Azorius to finish examining and cataloging it."
(4:30:06 AM) Ikiryo: "We can check it for fingerprints...but alone it will not help locate either the attacker or the victims." She sheathes her blade.
(4:37:29 AM) Blueshift_North: "I.  Hrm.  Give me a second." She summons up a sheet of ice and kind of stares at it.
(4:38:40 AM) Reise: While Q is busy with that, and assuming Edrea is engrossed in watching her, Reise gets down on hands and knees, knocking on the floor here and there and mumbling quietly to herself.
(4:40:47 AM) Ikiryo: Edrea is watching both of them with interest, taking notes.
(4:43:22 AM) ***Blueshift_North goes to tackle Reise out of the way of something, suddenly.
(4:44:14 AM) Reise: "Now if I were this chick, where would I...?" She sits back on her haunches, looking around, obviously considering, then slaps her thigh. She crawls over to a corner of the bar and presses a stud concealed behind a piece of crown moulding--just as Blueshift rams into her and sends the pair down to the ground in a tangle of limbs and blonde hair.
(4:44:52 AM) Reise: A square of flooring at least a meter to each side pops free and hinges up from the floor.
(4:45:07 AM) Ikiryo: ...and a loud bang goes off as a heavy rifle fires through the floor, right into where Reise was a moment ago
(4:46:31 AM) Reise: "Ow," she hisses, holding a spot where Blueshift's knee collided with her eye socket. Then the rifle bang registers and she blinks her eyes open. "...Well huh."

(4:47:54 AM) Ikiryo: There seems to be a room down there...and rifle connected to wires.

(4:56:27 AM) Ikiryo: It's a very small room...but one with a massive symbol on the floor and a doorway leading to a blank wall.

(5:02:36 AM) Reise: "And I'll bet next month's pay that by now the residual magic is too weak to try and trace where they went, and it's only going to keep getting weaker."
(5:05:13 AM) Blueshift_North: "Hrm.  I have an idea and one is more professional than the other: Do either of you know what local paper I'd need to take out a vague ad in to get in touch with a spy?"

(5:07:23 AM) Blueshift_North: "Yeah but spies have unofficial dealings with each other, and you might know how they do that."

(5:32:01 AM) Reise: "Ah. That's assuming she's in a position to *see* something like that, which she may well be," she allows, "but maybe not. On the other hand, I can ask around, too."
(5:32:31 AM) Blueshift_North: "I mean, look, my options to get in touch are severely limited."
(5:39:44 AM) Reise: "Right. I'm going to go ahead and ask a couple folks if they know what's going on. Get back to you later?"

A man with mother issues could try to summon a big space rock to crash into the planet so he can use it as his personal spaceship."
