- Chapter 1: The beginning of a new adventure
- ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- Hello! My name is Red and I'm from Pallet Town. I'm here to tell you the story of when I set out on my Pokemon adventure when I was 11
- years old. Now, by that time, it was my dream to become the best trainer of all time, but just before the day I got my first Pokemon,
- I had a strange dream. The dream had a weird black character with white hair and eyes as blue as the water from Pallet Town... The
- figure told me it would grant my wish to set out on a Pokemon Adventure, but that it would cast a curse on me, in which every Pokemon
- in my possession that would faint, would be eternally gone. I also had to promise not to be picky about the Pokemon I would use, as I
- was only allowed to catch the first Pokemon I would find in each area. I didn't think that was just a dream... When I woke up, I got
- up and stared at my SNES system, it looked a bit odd. My mom walked up to my room to wake me up and told me Prof. Oak was looking for
- me. I looked for Prof. Oak everywhere but he was nowhere to be found. As I went back to my house, I heard some strange cries coming from the tall grass, so I decided to check it out, and just as I took my first step into the tall grass, Prof. Oak screamed at me to not go any further because it's unsafe and I would need my own Pokemon in order to protect myself. We went to Prof. Oak's lab and there he was, the most rude person on Pallet Town, Blue. He was complaining about having to wait at the lab for Prof. Oak, but I'm sure he's exaggerating as usual. Prof. Oak told us about how he was a serious competitive trainer back in his younger age, and he said I could have my own Pokemon! Just then, I realized that dream was real, but I had determination in becoming the best trainer of all time, so I swore to protect my very first Pokemon, Bulbasaur. Gary was also given the choice to take a Pokemon, and he chose Charmander. I was so happy with my first Pokemon. I couldn't wait to show it to my mom. As I was going to exit Prof. Oak's laboratory, Gary challenged me to a battle. I wasn't about to let him mock me and my Pokemon so I accepted his challenge.

- After a tiresome battle, my Bulbasaur was victorious over Blue's Charmander. I was surprised, since I read in one of my Pokemon
- magazines that Grass-type Pokemon have a disadvantage against Fire-type Pokemon. My Bulbasaur even leveled up after beating
- Charmander! It's now level 6! Blue left saying he would toughen his Pokemon up and I went back to my house after thanking the professor for the Pokemon. I showed my Pokemon to my mom but she said both me and Bulbasaur looked exhausted so she had us take a nap. I went up to my room to grab a Potion that was stored on one my bags and after that, I left Pallet Town... to explore the region for the first time with my Bulbasaur. On the way to Viridian City, we got attacked a few times by some wild Pokemon, but luckily, Bulbasaur was able to beat them all and it went up to level 7. I went to heal my Bulbasaur in the Pokemon center, and after that I explored the city for a bit. I found nothing of use, but when I entered the Poke Mart, the clerk told me he had a parcel for Prof. Oak, so I went to deliver it. After I gave Prof. Oak his parcel, Blue showed up again, I guess Prof. Oak called him. He said he had a request for us. He gave us the Pokedex, a Pokemon encyclopedia that he wanted me and Blue to fill out by catching every Pokemon in the Kanto region. Of course, my plan was to become the strongest trainer in Kanto, and that would imply catching many Pokemon, so I agreed to help out the professor with the Pokedex. Blue left saying he would get a Town Map from his sister Daisy and tell her not to lend me one. Of course, I know Daisy's a really nice girl, so I went over to ask her for a Town Map, and she happily gave me one. I went back to Viridian City and bought 10 Poke balls so I could catch some new Pokemon partners for my Bulbasaur. I went west to Route 22 to see what kind of Pokemon lived there and see if I could catch one. A wild Rattata appeared! It was level 2 so I decided not to attack it with my Bulbasaur, since it could have fainted from the attack. After throwing my 4th Poke Ball, I was able to catch it. I went to Route 1 to see what I could catch there, and I ran into a level 2 wild Pidgey. My Rattata weakened it up so this one wasn't too hard to catch. I caught it on the first try. After that, I went to train my Pokemon a bit. Then, I went up to Route 2 and I found a wild Weedle, so I caught it. I went on forward to Viridian Forest and everyone warned me about how it's a huge maze and that I should be careful, so I decided to look in the grass for a new Pokemon first. I found a Metapod, so I weakened it with my Weedle and proceeded to catch it. I felt like all of my new Pokemon were a low level compared to Bulbasaur, so I decided to level them all up a bit in Viridian Forest before going onward. During the process of training, my Metapod evolved into a Butterfree and my Weedle evolved in a Kakuna, which later evolved into a Beedrill. However, I went through one of my worst experiences while training... My Pidgey was poisoned by a wild Weedle and I had to run over to Viridian City's Pokemon Center to cure it. Luckily, my Pidgey did not die on the way, it hanged on. The least I wanted was to lose a Pokemon this early in my adventure. As I was coming out of the Viridian City Pokemon Center, I noticed a big building to the west, so I went back to Route 22 to check it out. To my misfortune, I ran into Blue. He said the large building is called the Pokemon League and that you need to collect some badges in order to be allowed to enter. After that, he challenged me to a battle. Now, I will show him the power of my team!

- _________________________________________________________________________________________________
- He started the battle with his Pidgey, so I decided to see which Pidgey was the strongest and sent mine out as well. He was using an
- unfair strategy of using Sand-Attack to lower my Pidgey's accuracy. Either way, my Pidgey was able to defeat his. When he sent out his
- Charmander, I decided to switch my Pidgey out and send out my Butterfree, which was able to beat to beat Charmander using Confusion.
- As usual, Blue won't ever accept defeat and said I simply got lucky. Before leaving, he tells me the Pokemon League is full of strong
- trainers. This made me wonder... how strong? I've gotten a lot stronger ever since I left Pallet Town so maybe I can go get some of
- those badges and enter the Pokemon League. I went back to Viridian Forest again, except this time, I'm here to get through it, not
- just toughen my Pokemon up. I made it through Viridian Forest unscathed and found my way into Pewter City. I explored the museum for a
- little bit before trying to make my way to Route 3 to catch a new Pokemon. Strangely enough, someone stopped me from going to Route 3
- and told me I should challenge the Pokemon Gym on Pewter City. I went and took a peek into the gym and there were 2 trainers battling
- inside using Rock-type Pokemon. I decided to challenge myself in this Pokemon Gym even further by bringing only 1 Pokemon into battle.
- That Pokemon would be Bulbasaur, since I read that Grass-type Pokemon can beat Rock-Type Pokemon. Before all this, though, I need to
- train my Bulbasaur even further. While training Bulbasaur, it evolved into an Ivysaur, which looks very strong. Now I think I'm ready
- for this Pokemon Gym... I head inside and spot a trainer to challenge, and so I do, and I come out victorious. The other trainer that
- was fighting earlier seems to be the only other trainer left to battle. His name's Brock, and he's the Gym Leader of Pewter City's
- Gym. Now, it's time to see how strong this Gym Leader is!

- Brock sent out a Pokemon called Geodude, which is a Rock/Ground-type Pokemon. This should be no match for my Ivysaur's Vine Whip and I
- was right! Geodude went down with one hit. Now, Brock sends out a Pokemon called Onix, another Rock/Ground-type Pokemon. I'm guessing
- Onix is much more powerful than Geodude, since he sent it out last, but I still used Vine Whip on the Onix and it went down in one hit
- as well! That was a breeze, for a Gym Leader. Brock gave me the Boulder Badge as proof of my victory. I think this is one of those
- badges required to enter the Pokemon League, so this is one step forward to challenging the best trainers in Kanto.
- To be continued...
