- Pole Position FAQ
- Q: What is Pole Position?
- A: A racing game made by Namco for arcades in 1982. It's very simple. One track, which resembles Fuji Speedway. Accelerate, brake, turn, and two gears, LOW and HIGH.
- Q: What are you playing this on?
- A: Namco Museum Volume 1 for PS1.
- Q: What other consoles is it for?
- A: Arcade, Atari consoles, home computers, PS1, N64, and Dreamcast in Namco Museum 1, PS2, Gamecube, GBA, Xbox in Namco Museum, a couple of Plug-N-Plays, and I think some of the modern Namco Collections for PS3 and 360.
- Q: What's the run?
- A: High Score. Pretty much the qualifying lap. The default high score is 12000 points. Finishing the lap is 10000, then the bonus for the starting position.
- Q: Why do you wait until the time runs out to reset?
- A: For some reason, I have to game over to get to the dipswitch menu to reset the cabinet, instead of a button that takes me there.
- Q: Are there other runs?
- A: I want to do a Win run, where I'd qualify and win the race, but winning the race is tough.
- Q: What controller are you using?
- A: Namco neGcon, 'cause it's a racing game.
- Q: What's the WR?
- A: 54.067 by me with a 57.85 lap.
