  5. Name: Matilda Granville
  6. Signature: M.Granville
  7. Date: 16/FEB/2019
  8. 1. Tell us about yourself and about your background: My full name is Matilda Alicia Granville, born to Lisa and Luke Granville. I was born in November of '90. I grew up in Utah, Salt Lake City, and spend most of my life there before heading to San Andreas. I have a older sister, Megan. She used to be a former senator in San Andreas. I attended Highland Highschool in Salt Lake City and got graduated for it, after that I went to college, it was called Westminister College and I had a Bachelor Degree in Law. I am a married woman that has two kids, James (9 years old) and Jaime (11 years old) they currently stay at my parents place while I work in San Andreas, my husband, Jacob died in a car crash. I used to be Legistative Aide for Senator Peter Daniels, but I quit the job since I wanted something else in my life.
  9. Currently I still live in the Marina area in Los Santos.
  10. 2. Why would you like to join the San Andreas Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation? Explain why you chose this career, and what lead you to this decision.
  11. To be honest, there are more than several reasons and factors on me deciding to give it a try and join the San Andreas Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation. The job caught my eye, really. I had this job in my mind several times but it wasn't enough for me to apply. But then somehow I saw myself working inside a prison, jail or facility quite often. I'm currently unemployed and I do own an apartment and a car, I need some sort of income to pay the bills, taxes and to send money to my children. I did had a steady permanent job like I stated above but I really didn't like the position I was working in. Apart from that, I do believe I have the necessary requirements, ability and skills to take on a job such as this, as it's of course not one of the safest jobs in the world, and if you aren't sure or ready for it, it can end very bad for you. My former boss, Senator Peter Daniels actually led me to this decision. He always told me stories about him being an officier of the law and it always amazed me by it, It even gave me this convidence boost to apply for San Andreas Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation. I had to think about it for a few days as it's not something you can just decide on in the moment, so I started surfing on the web, getting infomation, brainstorming, waiting for the recruitments to be open and I was determined to apply for it.

  13. 3. What do you think are the primary skills a correctional officer needs? Explain how your own skills are relevant to this profession. Use examples if necessary, to strengthen your argument.
  14. Well I think a correctional officer needs to acquire and posses a certain amount of skills. The first thing, a correctional officer needs to be fit and healthy mentally, but also physically. even though the work environment is in a prison and not on the streets. That would probably be my main thing each and every correctional officer should need (have). Me? Myself, I consider myself healthy and fit, for one I am not a person that goes to the gym 24/7 and I am not, I never was really. But I am 29 years old, I am still in shape and healthy physically and as well as mentally. I am fit enough to handle this job. The second thing, that would probably be firearms. Knowledge about firearms and being able to handle one. Correctional officers carry firearms, just like any life enforcement, and even most knowledge is covered in the academies and manuals, a person needs to know how a firearm works and needs to be able to handle a firearm. In some situations that comes in handy and people sometimes think they can handle it, when they actually can't, and it just goes south from there. As I mentioned in the first part, about mental health, I'll go more in depth. I believe, as a correctional officer, you can and you will see some things that the normal person doesn't see, and it takes certain mindset to focus and sink that all in, and not blatantly overreact. There are a lot more that I can name, but in my opinion those are the ones that you need to aquire or have beforehand.
