  1. [00:57] He would have his needs met. They had been hungerring, ever since the news he had earlier. Ever since another had threatenned not too long ago.
  2.
  3. That maddenning feeling. She stepped forwards for him to fight. And he would not say no. The pernicious air of the occult rising, as well as a bitter breeze.
  4.
  5. "Good." One word yet again.
  6.
  7. They always had to be carefully chosen.
  8.
  9. His gaze was steady upon Wren, as he'd begin rushing forwards now, a spell already being charged through the staff.
  10. (Nill)
  11. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  12.
  13. [01:10] What would Theodas think?
  14.
  15. It was a question that buzzed inside her head as she moved to avoid that first attack the mutant sent her way. Her aim? To head somewhere more favorable-- towards the woodlands, ducking and weaving with a trail of flames following in her wake.
  16.
  17. And once she had that opening in sight? She turned, heels sliding against the dirt as she readied her staff more proper.
  18.
  19. The clock was ticking and Geist's light was only temporary- so with that in mind? The moment she slides to a halt, she springs into action, a fiery blaze quick to engulf where Nill stood.
  20.
  21. He'd best be quick on his feet with this one, lest he risk getting scorched!
  22. (Wren)
  23. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  24.
  25. [01:25] The fight would be taken very seriously. Asides from sating what was practically a base need at this point, whenever it was triggerred... He had his own further intent.
  26.
  27. A voice. To free his own by borrowing anothers. The lesions upon his arms twisted and writhed, popping forwards to unveil their truly monstrous nature. Mounds of diseased flesh, with sharp deadly claws at the end.
  28.
  29. Claws that slashed forwards whenever Wren had drawn near. But she gave him what he needed. A ferocious, wonderful... Pleasing battle. One that he had barely managed to claim victory over.
  30.
  31. The taint of occult, against the power of the stars. And in the end, he'd finish it not with a violent barrage of fell magic.
  32.
  33. But more a strange tackle, monstrous arms wrapped around Wren as if in a strange bear hug. Their own occult energy suffusing into her. And then? He whisperred something faintly. The rasp no longer there. Before plucking the pipe from his lips, and shoving it into her hands.
  34.
  35. "Ah... Much... Much better." A pleased smile sat on his face, before he looked towards the imperial briefly.
  36.
  37. His aim was complete, and now? Unless hinderred, he planned to be on his way.
  38. (Nill)
  39. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  40.
  41. [01:31] With every little bit of her might, she fought like she had a purpose. A reason. Something fueled that fire of hers and the stars that followed- so much so? That with every joining of the two elements, an explosive blast threatened to tear the land asunder.
  42.
  43. But in the end? Though she'd been seconds away from getting that advantage, he slips behind her- and try as she might to spin? She's caught in that sudden grapple, her legs kicking back in an attempt to free herself.
  44.
  45. It was fruitless, though.
  46.
  47. Occult to the stars was like a deadly disease. It drained her of every ounce of her energy- and more than that? It gripped at her throat. Like thousands of needles swallowed at once, she rasped out a struggled croak.
  48.
  49. "Yghh-...grhk-..." Whatever words she tried to muster? Came out as nothing more than a horrid wheeze.
  50.
  51. Only then did she fall upon her hands and knees, one palm quick togrip at her throat.
  52. (Wren)
  53. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  54.
  55. [01:39] Rosaline had arrived upon the Baleford Bridge only to witness the beginning of the conflicts- watching a pair of Fenrir she was unable to identify engage with an ogre, while Wren is assaulted by a person bearing a distinctly occultic stench.
  56.
  57. The conflict is over in a flash- unable to step in to help directly for worry of hitting Wren with her assaults- watching as the mutant grabs the kitsune...and does something to her?
  58.
  59. She is not quite sure, at this distance, but regardless- they leave Wren upon the ground, collapsed of pain, and move to depart. Rosaline moves as well, though her aim was not to stop them- though greatly she desired to inflict such pain upon them- her priority was to secure Wren and bring her back to the Academy so she may be helped.
  60.
  61. Thus, such is as she does- springing forth to pull her up, shifting one arm around her shoulders. It's good they aren't that much different in height, or this would be complicated, to say the least.
  62.
  63. (Rosaline Corcilius)
  64. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  65.
  66. [01:47] Slowly but surely did those stars fade from her vision and that distant look in her eyes return once more. And just like she was used to? Everything was swept into darkness.
  67.
  68. It's for that reason that she doesn't know whose help is being offered to her. The only thing she makes out is that sudden tug and pull that yanks her up from the ground and brings her over one shoulder.
  69.
  70. Whoever they were, they certainly weren't trying to kill her. That was a plus.
  71.
  72. "Hhhgrk-... Thh-..." Again, try as she might to get those words out? All that leaves her is a rough, scratchy voice. It almost sounded as if she were choking. And the culprit? The occult singes and rune-like markings that wrapped and pulsed around her neck.
  73.
  74. Fortunately for Rosaline? She wasn't very heavy!
  75. (Wren)
