**Bio:** Itachi was the older brother of Sasuke Uchiha. At a very early age, his father showed him the aftermath of a war, and he soon grew a hatred for war. He joined the Akatsuki after slaughtering his entire clan (including his parents and girlfriend) at the request of [Danzo Shimura](https://www.reddit.com/r/respectthreads/comments/a859wu/respect_danzo_shimura_naruto/), sparing only his younger brother Sasuke. Following his death, Itachi's true motives were revealed and his actions were only ever in the interest of his brother and village, making him remain a loyal shinobi of Konohagakure to the very end. Using the Mangekyo drains a considerable amount of chakra and it causes one's vision to deteriorate, eventually leaving the user blind.
