  1. Oh damn this will be fun!! I've been doing a gjettotech thing the last year and ended up changing the bpm completely because hardgroove got to me!
  2.
  3. Comment after being done: welp, that took a while but here we go!
  4.
  5. For starters, Audentity, one of the big realible ones (think zenhiser for the current era) have their Hardgroove House & Techno pack. It is honestly quite good as a vanilla pack and they could've packed it with 800-1500 samples, but it's only 335 and that made it one of the rarer packs in that I actually snatched the whole thing.
  6.
  7. Another big brand one is Analogue Techno by Sample Magic. They take great care processing, which means you can distort/lofi all you want on top of what's already a really genre-ready sound. Specifically their Lo-Fi House 3 pack is fantastic as well too.
  8.
  9. Good starting point, but let's have fun and dig deeper!
  10.
  11. NITE LIFE Audio Slo-Fi House - skip the loops in this one, the 112 oneshot drums are must haves. I used to go for MPC/sp1200 resampled packs for these sounds, but the character in packs like this just beats those so hard.
  12.
  13.
  14. Four4 LoFi House - they're probably my favorite company right now for rougher electronic stuff and this pack definitely shows why. This pack manages to be rough and lofi, while staying away from sounding vintage. If you want vintage, they can absolutely handle a tape plugin on the drum bus, so absolutely try that out if they're not vintage enough for you out of the box!
  15.
  16.
  17. Black Octopus OB6 Sweeps - This pack is so odd. Black Octopus mostly do dubstep and modern packs, but this one is a complete shocker. It is analog synth sweeps from a OB6.. and 3633 of them at that! Super weird release, but these are extremely useful for synth stuff in harder techno. So many timbres, so much to work with. Dig in and grab a few dozen. I'm assume you know how to use a sample and you can legit do anything you want synth-wise with these and a sampler. Such an estoteric pack, but any technohead I've shown it to had been hooked on it.
  18.
  19.
  20. Sample Magic Rolling Techno - This is a Sample Magic one, but gets a slot here because of how god damn great it is. Incredibly well engineered. One of the few packs where I actually like everything in it, even used loops. Big and boomy so the crunch level never goes past medium, but their excellent engineering allows you to take care of that yourself.
  21.
  22.
  23. Four4 Dark Warehouse Techno - I'm trying very hard to not slam you with Four4 packs, but while the above one is engineered fantastically; this one truly is a Warehouse Techno pack. Loops might be slightly too slow for you, but definitely check out the oneshots, they work great with a vintage, saturated classic kick. This pack is actually quite unique sounding for what it is.
  24.
  25.
  26. JUNKTION - ST2 Samples - This was my go-to pack for techno between 2018 and 2021 (one-shots only). I think you'll appreciate the kicks in this one. They pre-date the Rumble fetishism era, but nail that sound. Still some of my favorite claps ever.
  27.
  28.
  29. Samples From Mars - One Shot Synths From Mars - I've been gravitating towards synth one shots over the years. It is a really cool concept and this is the pack I would recommend for you. If you get busy with a sampler you can do a hell of a lot with a good pack and this is the best pack for you if you want the real deal synths.
  30.
  31.
  32. AZARI Sample Pack - This dude definitely knew what he wanted to do and did it. This is the only pack I've ever heard that goes in on those distorted cowbells that basically turn into stabs. Only 150 samples, but it being all analog processed Linn, 808, Juno and Odyssey gives it a real edge. Very crunchy pack.
  33.
  34.
  35. Future Times presents Dolo Percussion Sample Pack - Very surprised at how much I've actually used this. Started with getting the odd random sound for percussion hits, then eventually just got the whole lot. They kill the more acoustic leaning sound while still unmistakenly being made for techno.
  36.
  37.
  38. SM Presents - Soma Records Sample Pack Part 2 - Technically another Sample Magic pack, but this one deserves a slot based on what I think you're personally going for. Much better than the other pack, they obviously refined and SLV; the dude who handled this volume obviously understands 90's techno. This pack has so much character without going too far. You'll love this one.
  39.
  40.
  41. Rubicon Signal Flux - I wanted to recommend a modular synth based pack for mainly drums and basses, those have been my favorite thing for techno on Splice for the last 5 or so years. Click "one-shots" on this one, there are 131 of them and you should absolutely give it a shot. Being all modular, they're super specifically designed and have the benefit of sounding like they could come from any era
  42.
  43.
  44. Multiton Bits Retro Percussions & 909 - I wanted to recommend at least one of-the-era drum machine pack and this is the one I'd recommend you. Yeah, it's "another 909 pack", but for my money it is the best one for someone doing what you do. Everything is pitched, processed and layers, do it is definitely a 909 pack on steroids. I've a/b'd with my 909 and there is a huge difference. Also, please do check out their Modeled Analog Percs thing, I found it while doing ghettotech and it is awesome. If you want a cool sounding overall drum machine pack, check out ModeAudio Boombox, that one is super crispy for no apparent reason, so the hip hop producers they targeted hate it; but it is great for techno.
  45.
  46.
  47. ShamanStems Ghetto Traxx 2 - Ghettotech pack that really really into Detroit, which means it is a bit rougher than the older stuff. I very much recommend this pack. I stick to the oneshots, but I've made hardgroove with these and was very satisfied with it! Had to throw in this one last because it definitely stands out a bit from the others while being what you're looking for!
  48.
  49.
  50. -----------
  51.
  52.
  53. These are absolutely related to techno, but lean into specific angles, so dig in and buy what catches your ear!
  54.
  55.
  56. ShamanStems - this pack leans into glitch/scifi, but it really can complete a drum kit for a song and add something special. Extra little tip is that I've actually used the 808s in a sampler with a lowpass filter for absolutely fantastic subby techno bass!
  57.
  58.
  59. Boys Noize "Machine Age Vol. 1" - Since it is what the producer started out doing, this pack leans into electro a little, but definitely applicable to techno and it is a pretty small pack that works very well for anything on the rougher side of techno!
  60.
  61.
  62. Audentity - Raw Realms - I'm still testing this one out and it is quite treble heavy, but damn, there's definitely something about this pack. Definitely give it a shot. The crunch is more on the sharp noise side than the murky harshness, so that's why it is in this section instead of the main one.
  63.
  64.
  65. Audiotent - Noon - For techno, we need at least one modular-ish pack and no one does it better than these guys do it. This one is based on this ultra weird piece of gear I own, the Landscape Noon which is a passive synth, meaning it doesn't use electricity other than the touch of your finger. I own the damn thing and I still reach for this pack more; that must mean something. It scratches the modular itch and you can definitely have fun with this pack.
  66.
  67.
  68. Rubicon Interdimensional Club Stylings - Absolutely check this one out. It is down here in this section because it leans toward a clubbier end of things, but damn; it is such a cool pack. All analog, interesting synth sounds, but they tap into Latin, Jersey, Baltimore, Afro and more, but use sounds normally more used in Minimal Techno. Absolutely check it out and grab what you like.
  69.
  70.
  71. FUZZ! A galen tipton moment - I gotta mention this one. Check out the oneshots. It is fuzz pedal madness, fucking up sounds to ridiculous degrees. Can be extremely cool as spice and worth having in your arsenal.
