|| background: Her family first noticed it all. She started singing at the age of 2 when she saw her family setting up a live band back at her home. Her love for music started to show when she displayed fast sound recognition when she was still very young. She was also scouted to be a young model of a well respected agency in the Philippines when she was six. Although as she grew up, Min Young was not the girl to have a lot of friends, for she had a really lonely past not being able to experience friendship for six years. She underwent a lot of pressure and stress at a young age. Despite that, she graduated as the valedictorian of a public school, and made their school known through a national writing competition. During her early years of high school, she was persuaded to pursue her musical career, inspired by her family who all have musical backgrounds. She was able to study in a prestigious Korean institution before her family migrated to Seoul when she was fifteen. She continued her education in Seoul. As she gained popularity in her school, she started taking part time jobs as a way to help raise money for her career. With that she started gaining more attention by arranging her own mini-concerts at the town plaza with the help of her parents. She also found time to study music and dance and eventually discovered her passion for rapping. With that, at the age of nineteen, she was encouraged to join the auditions for Sugar Plum, a new trending girl group survival show. She has always hoped for an opportunity to go out in the world to show her abilities, due to her competitive spirit molded by her past. Currently, she is studying at a performing arts school.

ーGUMDROP。

|| personality: There are three words that sum this girl up. Optimistic, strong-willed, and inquisitive. She will always look at the bright side of everything when it all seems to fall apart for her. It wouldn't be easy for her to back down from a challenge because she becomes reckless when things are left undone. For every aspect of an issue, she will always have questions and is not afraid to stand up if she needs to say her answers. She also has displayed acts of being a potential leader according to her records. Is good at public speaking and she is very willing to see everyone smile because of her efforts.  Despite her positive traits though, she can be very indecisive and might procrastinate for a bit. She is also easily triggered by things which makes her easily angered as well. But, even so, she knows how to acknowledge her mistakes and make up for everything she might've misunderstood. She has a very matured personality, being able to extend her temper even if she is easily angered. Every time, no matter what she is experiencing, she will know when to put a smile on her face.

|| habits: She has a habit of slicking back her hair from time to time. She is also very well known for squealing like a whistle if something falls down. Her exclamation habit is most probably caused by the fact that everything she touches, either breaks of falls down. She also fidgets a lot and can often be seen with a random object in her hands (a pencil, straw, etc.). Minyoung also has a habit of spinning her microphone as one of her tricks.
|| hobbies: She likes to find songs that are appropriate for every single situation she is in. It's like she's choosing theme songs for everything. She studies a lot as well, which explains her fluency level in three different languages. Writing is one of the hobbies she values the most for she thinks that literature is an incredibly beautiful form of art. Minyoung also like to collect plushies from arcades. During her free time, she displays skill in video games.


|| likes: As much as Minyoung can appear to be a refined lady, she is actually a huge fan of video games and superheroes. Another thing she is known for is her hardcore love for Batman and the rest of the DC heroes, as shown when she revealed that she owns a handmade “Hero Hall of Fame”. She also likes listening to international music, aside from English, and other music that originated from Asia. Studying is also in one of her daily routine. As a trainee, she values communication as an integral part of their career, and she is currently self-studying other foreign languages. She likes bright colors as well, and people will always see her carrying something orange. Regarding her fashion sense, she likes the more feminine style, therefore her wardrobe mostly shows skirts and dresses. Going towards her food preferences, for her, nothing can beat her love for sushi. She also loves meat and can handle extremely spicy food. Finally, she absolutely loves to listen and immerse in music. There are multiple times where she has shown her passion for rap, rock and R&B.
|| dislikes: One of the little things she despises is wrong grammar, and will have the tendency to correct it immediately. She also hates being called perfect. She believes that she is only trying her best to achieve progress in her career and not merely be known as a stereotypical ‘perfect’ girl. She also doesn’t like disrespect, especially when other people may possibly cut her off while she is speaking, or not even let her speak at all. Minyoung also dislikes extremely sweet food. She doesn’t like raisins. She also hates the dark and has a habit of singing and rapping to herself to calm down, when she has to go through it. She also wouldn’t like it if there is no display of transparency in certain issues, especially in friendship. As much as she hates gossip, she doesn’t let her bother it, but will not hesitate to stop something before it affects another. Finally, she hates cutting onions because she has a very sensitive nose and her eyes flood before she can even chop the whole thing.

|| trivia: Minyoung is a chess player, and she has represented institutions in a couple of tournaments. Her birthday is perfectly placed on the Philippine Independence Day. Her nickname is derived from both her Korean name and a famous colorful bird known in the Philippines, which is the Maya bird. Aside from knowing three major languages, she actually knows how to speak two more Filipino dialects, and is currently learning two dialects in Chinese (Mandarin and Cantonese), and Japanese. She can play the piano and guitar. Her favorite beverage is milk. As much as she loves writing, she can’t draw. She wanted to draw a stick figure version of herself, but she laughed in the end because the body was connected to the legs in a really funny way. When her hair was longer it was actually really curly until it was cut shorter and conditioned, is the reason why it appears straight. Her favorite western artists mostly contain those who produce alternative rock music, but her favorite is Coldplay. She has been learning song production since she was fourteen.

|| why does your character want to be an idol? Minyoung’s goal was to be an inspiration to the masses. To be a good role model to others, and to make them smile with her efforts. She has a extreme love for performance and is very willing to share her talents with others. She believes that she can contribute a lot to the music industry and to help shine the light of confidence to everyone.

|| how they act on stage: May appear intimidating but welcoming at the same time. Knows how to goof around to make fans laugh, and may reach the point where she becomes a fangirl along with the audience, when someone else is performing. Does horrible aegyo.
|| how they act off stage but on camera: Crazy. She might be seen playing along with other idols, but will know when to stop and take a pause to answer interviews and speak presentably.
|| how they act off stage and off camera: Stuck in the studio, either studying, recording or practicing. Will go out to buy food for herself from time to time, and buries herself in music trips.


ーTEARDROP。

|| how would your character react to someone being eliminated? what if she hated that person? what if she was close to that person? At the beginning of the competition, she has embraced the fact that everyone has a skill of their own and all have the capacity to be in the top seven. If someone close had been eliminated, she would feel really bad, since there would be no one she could openly talk to and no one to physically give her support. She’s most probably shed tears here and there, but she’d have that time where she’ll stand tall once again, because this time, she won’t only be doing it for herself, but also for her close friend, who’d want success for her. However, if someone she hated got eliminated, it would be a huge weight off her shoulders, although she doesn’t show any sign that she is in favor of the elimination. Minyoung would most probably wear just a neutral expression, and remind herself to focus and not let her guard down that easily.

|| how would your character react if she was eliminated? She came with a smile, she’ll end with one as well. However, she wouldn’t consider it as the end, but the start of another journey towards her career. She believes that if something happens that is not in her favor, there is something even better prepared for her at the right time.

|| describe the scene where your character wins one of the seats in the top seven: She’ll be smiling with tears of joy streaming down her face. It’ll be her instinct to hug everyone that is with her, and will wave everytime the camera passes by her. Minyoung will be greeting her new members and tell each and everyone of them that they’ll make it to success as a team. She’ll be thanking everyone who’s been there for her. If she ever gets the chance to say their final word as contestants, shell be doing a short speech with deep words of complete gratitude and inspiration. Non-stop smiling and finger hearts as always.

|| how does your character act when meeting new people? Minyoung always uses her charm and charisma when she meets new people. She takes her knowledge on languages to an advantage, especially when communicating with foreigners. She is not shy, in fact will always be joyful around that person so he or she will feel a sense of belongingness.

Annyeong! When my eyes landed on this applyfic, I got extremely intrigued and decided to try it out! If you by chance get to choose my application form, it will be a massive inspiration to me, although if not it’s okay. I’m actually new to going for applyfics because I only used to binge on fanfiction. However, I noticed that I can’t be completely comfortable with reading them, since the reader’s personality does not necessarily fit the one who is reading so I took a pause from it. I found out what applyfics are, so now I apparently landed here and I’m really glad. If I ever get accepted, I’m very looking forward to the flow of how everything will go, and probably meet new people along the way. Although if not, I completely understand, but I most certainly enjoyed filling up the info in the forms. Even though it hasn’t started yet, I already had a lot of fun! Looking forward to it!
