  1. If Yun's playstyle revolves around turtling to get meter to setup SA3, this gives you a free taunt for damage boost on next hit. When Mantis Slash doesn't cause a crossover on third hit, you can taunt instead of using Teleport because you won't be able to setup anything on Yun's wakeup if he quick rolled.
  2.
  3. Yang's c.LK is good for counter hitting Yun's shoulder Special move. You can hit confirm EX Mantis Slash if c.LK hits twice (which doesn't always happen) or buffer EX Mantis Slash after one c.LK. You can also use c.LK>LP Mantis, then continue pressure. Yang's c.LP is not good for this because Yun lowers his hitbox below it and always beats it. Be aware of other things that can beat Yang's c.LK, such as Lunge punch, HP, HK. EX Shoulder has more chance to beat Yang's c.LK, especially from bigger range, but it can still be counter hit, and Yun loses meter.
  4.
  5. Yun's Shoulder can be parried in the neutral game with either forward or low parry. Practice the motion Down, Forward, hold Backward (or Forward, Down, hold Backward), and make sure that the delay between those inputs is close to 10 frames because that's the length of normal parry window.
  6.
  7. When Yang lands third hit of Mantis Slash, Yun might end up getting knocked down behind Yang. When this happens, you can walk towards Yun, and if he used quick roll, you will cross to his other side from where you can use unexpected wakeup attack. This happens when Mantis Slash hits from specific distance, as well as when second Mantis Slash was canceled (because cancel timing affects the distance). Another thing that affects it is camera (corner) position on screen. The cancel timing of Mantis Slash is lenient, but the distance and camera position are not, so this will appear random. First hit of Mantis Slash must be HP version, because it pushes Yang forward the most for additional Mantis Slashes. The second and third Mantis Slashes don't matter. It can only happen when Yun's back is not touching the corner. When you do Grab, c.MK>3x HP Mantis Slash combo, you have a chance to make this crossover happen if all conditions are met.
  8.
  9. Yang can't crossover Yun in corner with Dive kick or teleport unless Yun uses quick roll.
  10.
  11. Be aware of LK Dive kick feint. For LK Dive kick to hit you, Yun must do it from very close range, so it will almost always whiff. Because of this, Yun uses whiffed Dive kick to set up a Throw. React to LK Dive kicks that aren't done from closest range and Throw Yun.
  12.
  13. Yang can do UOH crossover on knocked down Yun. This is hard to set up because of Yun's quick roll, but you can do it after SA2 hard knockdown.
  14.
  15. Yang's Teleport has ambiguous crossover on Yun when if he used quick roll in corner. Because you can't know for sure in which direction to input Mantis Slash, you can use cl.MP, LK>EX Mantis Slash, or MP>HP>B+HP>SA2, or cl.MK, Roll. Unfortunately, all of these attacks can be forward parried, so opponent can option select parry, but that opens him up for low attacks.
  16.
  17. The grab is what tips the mixup game in your favor against Yun since he's already overpowered character.
  18.
  19. Dealing with SA3 -------------------------
  20.
  21. Try to stop Yun from setting up SA3. Part of this is knowing how Yun player sets it up. SA3 is extremely easy to set up though. All it takes is a combo, knockdown, air reset, or just some distance so that Yun doesn't get hit by your attack on raw SA3 startup.
  22.
  23. Raw SA3 from distance is not ideal for Yun, but it is a legit SA3 setup because Yun has Super attack priority during SA3 on all his attacks. SA3 does have slight startup invincibility, but Yun mostly can't capitalize on it and he gets hit if you attacked him when he did raw SA3. When Yun uses raw SA3, he might try to get close by doing Lunge Punch. This is only safe for Yun if you are at the end of Lunge Punch range, otherwise you can punish it with a throw.
  24.
  25. If Yun sets up SA3 from Shoulder frame trap, parry the Shoulder. Yun might use different Shoulder version to delay the hit and throw off your parry timing, so you should start use different parry after initial 10 frame parry window is over. That means parrying low then high or vice versa. When both low and forward parry window is over, start blocking. You can also use c.LK to counter hit Shoulder.
  26.
  27. Avoid blocking Dive kick because Yun can easily do a blockstring afterwards to set up SA3. If you parry low after blocked Dive kick, you parry all common blockstrings that lead to SA3 (LP>LK>MP, c.MK, LK>Shoulder), but you're vulnerable to cl.MK>SA3 and MP>HP>B+HP>SA3. MP>HP>B+HP>SA3 is less beneficial to Yun on hit than cl.MK>SA3, especially when you're not near corner.
  28.
  29. When SA3 is activated, Yun will use mix of high and low attacks (mostly low) while slowly getting close enough to grab you. This strategy is mostly safe for Yun and deals decent damage. It's what makes Yun one of best characters in the game. Grab can be counter hit with c.LP, but you can also get grabbed during your c.LP. Frame trap or parry can also punish your c.LP. Trying to jump out of grab may result in you getting hit by SA3 combo.
  30.
  31. As with any character, parrying SA3 is risky, and Yun has the advantage when it comes to guessing games during SA3. Just block it. If Yun activated it from big distance, you can use fuzzy guard to predict certain blockstrings such as low into F+MK overhead. Walking backwards is beneficial outside of corner because you keep Yun away from you. If Yun does far HP>Dash to get closer, you can react to it and throw Yun.
  32.
  33. SA3 normals attacks trades hits with Yang's SA2. Yun can even continue combo after the trade depending which attack he used.
