This is the *adhan,* or "call to prayer," in English:

Allah is Great (4x)
I bear witness that there is no god except Allah (2x)
I bear witness that Mohammed is the messenger of Allah (2x)
Rise up for prayer (2x)
Rise up for salvation (2x)
Allah is great (2x)
There is no god except Allah

Not really much about prayer, eh? It's actually an aggressive display of force (can you turn it down or off?) and of supremacy and dominance: everything and everyone within earshot must submit to Islam and their demon-god, Allah.

There's an implied, threat, too - even for Muslims: "I thought that I should order the prayer to be commenced and command a person to lead people in prayer, and I should then go along with some persons *having a fagot of fuel with them to the people who have not attended the prayer and would burn their houses with fire.*" [Sahih Muslim 5:318](http://archive.is/PU1QQ)
