  1. mzxrules - 09/11/2016
  2. because high level emulation
  3. A simpler explanation:
  4. You spawn in Lost Woods, from the Kokiri Forest entrance on top of the hill
  5. you walk (don't roll, that spawns things and changes numbers by an insignificant amount :D) into the area with Skull Kid
  6. on the GCN version, you have roughly 0x658D0 free bytes for loading actors, whereas on N64 1.0 you have 0x65930 free bytes for loading actors
  7. I should say GCN J, the Vanilla OoT on the OoT/MQ duo cd, since between J and U there are actually 4 unique "vanilla" oot builds
  8. hold on, doin' maths
  9. ok so, every time you duplicate the room, the only extra actors you'll spawn are 2 more "Skull Kid" actors (one must be for the point you play Saria's Song, the other is the lovely dancing fella)
  10. the Skull Kid actor is 0x2F0 bytes in both N64 and GCN versions
  11. BUT!
  12. on the GCN version, you end up reserving only 0x600 for all 4 actors, whereas on N64 you end up reserving 0x640
  13. so every dupe on N64 costs 0x40 bytes more
  14. so on N64, you should be only able to do 0x104 dupes (though I'm guessing it seizes a lot sooner than that huh...
  15. whereas on GCN you'd get 0x10E
  16. huh... guess there's a bit more to this then
