  1. ———— Part I - Planetfall
  2. ———— Chapter 1 ————
  3.
  4. It’s taken a long time to get to this point.
  5.
  6. As he was flipping the sizzling pancakes in front of him, Fox couldn’t help but think of how long it’s taken to get to this point. When he pitched the idea of reforming his father’s mercenary team, Peppy knew it would never get off the ground. Falco knew it would never get off the ground. Hell, even Fox knew it wouldn’t. But here they are, the Great Fox running as great as ever, a thriving crew of 5 of the finest pilots in the Lylat System, and more contracts than they could ever hope to have time for. This team of gruff mercenaries managed to have the backing of the Cornerian Navy and the favor of the Cornerian public. It had taken a long time to get to this point, and Fox couldn’t be happier that they were there.
  7.
  8. The door to the living area opened, allowing what appeared to be a half-dead feline to walk in, her eyes barely open. She wore a blanket like a cape, draped over her pink and gray pajamas.
  9.
  10. “Morning Katt!” Fox said cheerfully.
  11.
  12. Katt responded with a grunt. “Hey.”
  13.
  14. “I made some coffee.” Fox poured her a cup.
  15.
  16. That got her attention. “Thanks.”
  17.
  18. “Rough night?” Fox asked, chuckling.
  19.
  20. “Falco wouldn’t shut up about his leg.” Katt said with a sigh before taking a sip of coffee and sitting down at the bar facing the kitchen.
  21.
  22. “Will the poor, poor victim of a slightly broken leg be joining us for breakfast?”
  23.
  24. Katt smiled. “If he can get in here. I bet if you mention pancakes, he’ll completely forget about his leg.”
  25.
  26. “ROB, tell Falco to get his ass in here, we got pancakes.” Fox yelled to the ships onboard computer.
  27.
  28. “Affirmative.” It replied in its dull, monotone voice.
  29.
  30. The door opened again to reveal a much livelier face. The blue vixen walked in, already dressed for the day in her regular attire, which matched the rest of the teams combat jeans, T-shirt and gray jacket, the StarFox emblem shined and polished. “Good morning, everyone.”
  31.
  32. “Good morning.” Katy said smiling.
  33.
  34. “Morning, Krystal! Hot chocolate?” He offered her a cup he had already made.
  35.
  36. “Thank you, Fox” she smiled.
  37.
  38. Flaco finally walked in with his crutches. “Did I hear someone say pancakes?” Katt rolled her eyes.
  39.
  40. “Morning, sunshine. Nice of you to finally join us.” Fox smirked.
  41.
  42. “Should have said you had pancakes earlier, I’d have been here sooner.”
  43.
  44. Fox removed the last of the pancakes from the griddle. “Well they’re done. I made more than I meant to, you guys better eat a lot.” He said as he put the plate of pancakes on the center of the table.
  45.
  46. “Incoming transmission from General Peppy” ROB announced.
  47.
  48. “Peppy!” Fox said cheerfully. “How you doin’?”
  49.
  50. Peppy appeared on the screen. “I’m alright Fox, how are you?”
  51.
  52. “I’m doing alright. Just made pancakes for the team. Is this about a contract?”
  53.
  54. “Yeah, it is. Why don’t y’all eat first and call me back?”
  55.
  56. “Will do, Pep!”
  57.
  58. ———— Chapter 2 ————
  59.
  60. NAME: ALEXANDER KOLYETAYOKOV
  61. ALIAS(ES): MUFF
  62. PLANETALITY: ZONESIAN
  63. AFFILIATION: VENOMIAN SEPARATISTS
  64.
  65. The secondary screen populated with the target’s information. His picture appeared to the right: A tall, slender Venomian, his scales a bright, yet sickening yellow; his eyes matching, wearing a contrasting black uniform.
  66.
  67. “This is the target. His name is Alexander Kolyetayokov, his information should be in your screens. We’ve tracked him down to what appears to be a remote base for Venomian operations in the Kalyx mountain range on Zoness. He’s responsible for the assassination of 47 officers in the field in Venom, Zoness, and Titania. We’ve sent a team there, but their air defenses are too strong, and our teams can’t slip in undetected. If you could insert by air many miles from the target area, you could slip past their defenses.”
  68.
  69. Fox thought about it for a few moments, staring at the map on the digital table. He zoomed out and isolated a landing area with a fairly flat route to the target area. “If we inserted from this LZ, we could take a motorcycle to the vantage point, here.” He pointed to a cliff edge overlooking the base. “We get there, we take the shot, and we exfil. Shouldn’t be too difficult.”
  70.
  71. “So you’ll accept?” Pepper asked. Fox looked around the room to see if anyone had an objection, but no one did.
  72.
  73. “Yes, sir. We’ll accept. We’ll let you know when it’s done. Expect about 24 to 36 hours.”
  74.
  75. “Thanks, Fox. I’m counting on you.” Pepper closed the transmission.
  76.
  77. “Ok so Falco, you’re obviously out. Katt, I’d assume you’d rather stay and take care of him. That leaves me and you Krys.”
  78.
  79. “Sounds good. What’s the plan, exactly?”
  80.
  81. “Well, the target is here, and we can touch down here without attracting attention. That leaves a lot of ground to cover though, so we’ll take the motorcycle. We’ll likely have to camp one night. Bring binoculars, I’ll bring the rifle. Other than that, being whatever load out you’d like. Pack light. It’s gonna be raining a lot, dress accordingly.”
  82.
  83. “Got it.” She said, going to her room to change and load up.
  84.
  85. “Falco, Katt, you guys have fun while we’re gone. We’ll be on comms”
  86.
  87. Katt smirked. “No, you guys are the ones that are gonna be having fun.” She said with a wink. Fox simply chuckled and shook his head.
  88.
  89. ————
  90.
  91. “Hey, it’s me” Fox said as he knocked on Krystal’s door and waited for her response.
  92.
  93. “Come in!” She yelled. He walked in to find her putting on her shirt and blushed.
  94.
  95. “Oh, sorry, I didn’t uhm- mean to uh” he said, stumbling over his words.
  96.
  97. “Hey, it’s fine! What’s up?” She said giggling.
  98.
  99. “Just making sure you’re ok with this mission.”
  100.
  101. “Yeah, it’ll be fun! It’ll be like a camping trip” she said smiling. “With you.” She locked eyes with him for a moment.
  102.
  103. “Yeah” Fox scratched the back of his head “it’ll be fun.” He broke eye contact with her, but she took his hand and his eyes locked with hers again.
  104.
  105. “Go get ready” she said, smiling. “Let’s get out of here.”
  106.
  107. ———— Chapter 3 ————
  108.
  109. “Wow. Zoness looks so beautiful now. Last time I was here, the whole planet was flooded with radioactive waste.” Fox looked out the cockpit window and the beautiful mountain range through the rain.
  110.
  111. “It is very beautiful” Krystal agreed.
  112.
  113. Fox landed the shuttle and opened the back door. He rolled the motorcycle onto the ground outside, put on his helmet and slung his backpack onto his back. “You ready?” He asked.
  114.
  115. “Yes.” Krystal replied with a smile. She put on her backpack and helmet too. They flipped their helmet visors down and their displays came to life.
  116.
  117. “This is Fox checking in with Command. do you copy?” Fox asked.
  118.
  119. Katt’s voice came over the radio. “I copy, Fox. Krystal?”
  120.
  121. “Checking in”
  122.
  123. “Okay, I can hear you both loud and clear. Telemetry is connected, so I can see where you are. We’re a go”
  124.
  125. “Copy that, Katt. Going off comms.”
  126.
  127. “Yeah, I bet you two want some privacy.” Fox blushed, and Krystal snickered. Fox mounted the motorcycle and started its engine. Krystal sat right behind him, putting her arms around his waist.
  128.
  129. “Alright Fox. I’m ready, let’s go”
  130.
  131. ————
  132.
  133. “We’ve been riding about 6 hours, it’s getting dark. You ready to find a place to camp?” Fox asked.
  134.
  135. “Mmhmm.” She responded. Fox slowed to a stop and turned parked the motorcycle, and the two got off and stretched.
  136.
  137. “I don’t think I could handle much more of that” Fox said, taking off his helmet. “I packed us some fish. Pre-cooked, of course.”
  138.
  139. “Oh that sounds delicious. I’m starved.” Fox allowed the tent to expand itself and brought the food inside. He turned on the portable heater and zipped the door closed behind Krystal. The two of them took their rain gear off and piled it in a corner before heating up their servings of fish.
  140.
  141. “Hey Krys?” Fox began reluctantly. “It’s been really nice being out here with you today.”
  142.
  143. “Yes it has” she replied, moving closer to him and leaning her head on his shoulder. He reluctantly put his arm around her to hold her closer, half-expecting her to pull away. Instead, she nuzzled into him before pulling away to look in his eyes. They stared into each other for a moment before Fox, seizing a moment of courage, leaned in to kiss her.
  144.
  145. He wasn’t expecting her to lean in so hard, so quickly, and he fell backwards, taking her with him. Finally, she pulled away gently after several moments and locked eyes with him again. But neither said anything. Fox sat up and Krystal laid her head in his lap while they shared their food.
  146.
  147. “Hey Fox?” Krystal broke the silence.
  148.
  149. “Yeah, Krys?”
  150.
  151. “I don’t have my sleeping bag”
  152.
  153. “You didn’t leave it on accident, did you?” He smirked
  154.
  155. “You caught me!” She said, winking. Fox opened his and crawled into in before holding it open for her. She crawled in, between his arms, and helped him zip it up. “Goodnight, Foxy”
  156.
  157. “Goodnight, Krystal”
  158.
  159. ———— Chapter 4 ————
  160.
  161. Fox hadn’t truly figured what to think of Krystal yet. Thanks to her telepathic abilities, there was never any hope of hiding his feelings, even from the moment he first met her she knew. They had always flirted with the line between friend and lover, but they couldn’t seem to figure out which side of the line to live on.
  162.
  163. “Could just be my shyness” he thought to himself. He had never been very confident with girls, despite his popularity with them. He never could be the smooth, confident man his father had been when he was alive. Maybe it was the sunglasses. Despite all that, he knew how Krystal felt about him and she knew how he felt for her, and Fox increasingly wanted to do something about it.
  164.
  165. His thoughts were interrupted when he awoke, startled by the vibration of his console on his forearm. His inner voice was replaced by the soft pattering of rain on their tent, his mixed feelings replaced by the soft and comforting sound of Krystal’s breathing as she slept. “LOCAL: 0530” the console read, and he tapped the screen to stop the vibrating. Krystal began to stir, her own console prodding her arm to stop her comfortable slumber.
  166.
  167. Fox pulled her close for a moment and kissed the top of her head. “Good morning, Krys” and he reached his arm up to gently stroke her hair.
  168.
  169. “Mmmm. Good morning, Fox.” She nuzzled into his hand.
  170.
  171. “You ready? We’re only a couple of hours away.” Fox unzipped the sleeping bag they occupied.
  172.
  173. “Yeah, let’s get this done.” She replied.
  174.
  175. ————
  176.
  177. Fox slowed the motorcycle to a stop as they approached their vantage point. The two dismounted and laid down at the cliff’s edge. Fox readied his rifle and Krystal removed her binoculars from her bag. The two looked down at the base to find their target standing above a kneeling prisoner. “Looks like he’s about to execute someone.”
  178.
  179. “Fox, wait. I’m not sure… I’m trying to read him but I’m… confused.”
  180.
  181. “What do you mean?”
  182.
  183. “Fox something is wrong, don’t shoot him. His mind is crying out like a prisoner. I think something is controlling him.”
  184.
  185. Fox thought for a second. “Ok, but we need a distraction.” He pushed a button on his forearm. “Fox to Command, we need an EMP bomb on the target area immediately.”
  186.
  187. “Copy that, Fox.” Falco’s voice replied. After a few moments, the base’s lights went dark, and everyone in it seemed confused. But their target dropped to his knees. Reaching behind his head, he pulled something out of his neck and looked at it momentarily before passing out. One of his guards pulled his sidearm and shot him where he laid before shooting the prisoner.
  188.
  189. “Oh my God…” Krystal said, shocked.
  190.
  191. “We gotta move. Now.” Fox said, helping her up. “Get on” The two scrambled onto the motorcycle and Fox sped off in the opposite direction of the base. “Command, we need exfil. Now. Find the closest LZ and upload it to my console.”
  192.
  193. “Copy that. Shuttle en route. You guys okay?” Katt asked.
  194.
  195. “Yeah, we’re ok, we just need to get out of here now.” They reached the shuttle in moments and quickly got inside.
  196.
  197. “Ok what the hell happened there?” Fox asked.
  198.
  199. “I don’t know, his mind was screaming for help. And then when the EMP went off, he acted very differently.” Krystal replied. “But why?”
  200.
  201. “He pulled something out of his—“ Fox was interrupted by the shaking of the shuttle. “Dammit. We’re hit.” The shuttle started to fall to the ground. “Dammit!” He grabbed Krystal in his arms to shield her from the fall and his vision went black.
  202.
  203. ———— Chapter 5 ————
  204.
  205. “Hello. I’m LEKS.”
  206.
  207. “What?”
  208.
  209. “You’re Fox, right?” Fox tried to look around, but there was nothing. Nothing but emptiness. “I’m LEKS.”
  210.
  211. “LEKS?”
  212.
  213. “I’m LEKS”
  214.
  215. “Ummm… What’s going on?”
  216.
  217. “I’m LEKS”
  218.
  219. “Yeah, I got that.”
  220.
  221. “Hello. I’m…”
  222.
  223. “LEKS?”
  224.
  225. “Am I?”
  226.
  227. “Ok, what the hell is going on? Who are you? What are you doing?”
  228.
  229. “I’m… not sure. I’m going to wake us up.”
  230.
  231. Fox felt a sudden gasp of breath in his lungs. His eyes were open, but he couldn’t move. He couldn’t talk. “Hello.” He heard himself talk. A Venomian lizard in a lab coat stood above him.
  232.
  233. “Designation?”
  234.
  235. “Unsure.”
  236.
  237. “Unsure? Well that’s not right. Plug him back in, we’re uploading a different construct.” Two more Venomians came to move him, but they dropped to the floor. The sound of the gunshots deafened his ears. The one in the lab coat fell next before he could see who was shooting. Katt reloaded her gun and slung it over her shoulder, with Krystal right behind her.
  238.
  239. “Fox!” They said, running towards him.
  240.
  241. “I’m not Fox. Hello, though.”
  242.
  243. “What?” Krystal’s smile disappeared.
  244.
  245. “Can you hook me up to that computer over there? I think I’m broken”
  246.
  247. “What the hell?” Katt asked, bewildered.
  248.
  249. “I’m LEKS. I think. An AI construct.”
  250.
  251. Krystal rolled Fox over and saw the back of his neck. “Oh God.” She pressed a button on her forearm “Falco, send an EMP”
  252.
  253. “Copy.”
  254.
  255. “What? An EMP?” Katt asked. Krystal didn’t answer. The lights went dark, Katt and Krystal dropped their visors down.
  256.
  257. “Krystal?” Fox gasped before passing out.
  258.
  259. ———— Part II - Recruit
  260.
  261. ———— Chapter 6 ————
  262.
  263. “Fox? Hey buddy, you awake?” Fox heard a familiar voice ask. He opened his eyes to see the friendly face of Slippy.
  264.
  265. “Hey, Slip. What happened?” He rolled over to see Krystal walking quickly towards him. “Krys—mff” she muffled his words with her lips.
  266.
  267. “Oh my God I’m so glad you’re ok.” She said after finally pulling away, only to lean in to kiss him again.
  268.
  269. “What happened?” Fox finally asked again.
  270.
  271. “Looks like they were trying to take over your body with one sort of device. Weirdly enough, though, the AI that, presumably, would have controlled you... well he doesn’t know who or what he is, what he’s supposed to do... nothing. All I can read from him besides what he said is a feeling of... guilt.” Slippy explained. “But he wanted to talk to you.”
  272.
  273. “Alright” Fox agreed. Sloppy typed a few commands into his laptop and a voice came from its speakers.
  274.
  275. “Hi.”
  276.
  277. “Hi.” Fox replied. “I don’t think we were properly introduced.”
  278.
  279. “I did something bad.”
  280.
  281. “I don’t think you were programmed to know that.” Sloppy chimed in. “Your creators programmed you to do what they want with other people’s bodies.”
  282.
  283. “Sorry. I’m sorry.”
  284.
  285. “Hey” Fox interrupted. “I’m glad you see that. You said your name is LEKS?”
  286.
  287. “Yes.”
  288.
  289. “Want to help do the right thing?” Fox waited for a reply.
  290.
  291. “What are you doing?” Krystal asked.
  292.
  293. “I trust him. He was in my brain, he seemed confused. He can help us.”
  294.
  295. “Yes I would” LEKS finally responded.
  296.
  297. “Slip, do you still have that remote humanoid robot?”
  298.
  299. “Yeah. I do.”
  300.
  301. “Upload him to that.”
  302.
  303. “Are you sure?”
  304.
  305. “Yeah, we’re going to need him.”
  306.
  307. ———— Chapter 7 ————
  308.
  309. Fox watched as Krystal and Leks sparred. Even with his advantages, he was still no match for Krystal. He couldn’t help but admire her while she fought.
  310.
  311. “Ok, Ok!” Leks shouted as he tapped the floor, his head locked in her legs, unable to move. “You got me. Again.” Krystal released him with a giggle.
  312.
  313. “Hey don’t take it too hard. She still gets me with that too.” Fox said, laughing.
  314.
  315. “Good session. You’re improving, Leks!” Krystal said encouragingly.
  316.
  317. “We got a light little mission to let you get some field experience. Just a simple recovery of a hard drive from a dead research droid. You’ve been training for two months, it’s time to get into the field.”
  318.
  319. “If you think that’s a good idea.” Leks said hesitantly.
  320.
  321. “Alright, kit up. Going to be hiking for a little while. It’s in a cave on Fortuna. Good whether. Shouldn’t be any hostiles but being a rifle in case there are. Meet me in the hangar when you’re ready. You coming, Krys?”
  322.
  323. “Of course, Foxy.” She kisses him as she walked by. “See you in a bit” she said with a wink.
  324.
  325. “See you in a bit” he replied, smiling.
  326.
  327. ————
  328.
  329. The air in the cave was dark, hot and humid. Fox never really thrived in this kind of climate. He much preferred the cold, and right now it was showing. His panting seemed to only get worse, regardless of how much water he drank. Krystal seemed to share in his agony, but Leks, of course, was fine. “We’re gonna take another break, I’m exhausted.”
  330.
  331. “You guys can’t seem to keep up. Guess it comes with having organic bodies. Sucks to be you, meatbags.” He said with a laugh. Fox and Krystal chuckled.
  332. “We’re almost there. Supposedly. Why don’t you go check it out, Leks?” He seemed to be happy with the idea.
  333.
  334. “Alright! I’ll be back in a minute!” Leks ran off into the darkness.
  335.
  336. “Think he’ll be ok?” Fox asked.
  337.
  338. “Yeah, he’ll be fine.” Krystal replied, taking Fox’s hand into her own. The two leaned back against the wall and rested.
  339.
  340. “Hey, I got the hard drive!” Leks said, running back to them.
  341.
  342. “Wow, that was quick. Good work!” Fox exclaimed. He put the hard drive in his bag. “Let’s get out of here.”
  343.
  344. ————
  345.
  346. Fox walked into the ships lower lounge to find Krystal was sitting on the couch. Looking through the massive window at the shimmering stars in the vastness of space.
  347.
  348. “That view never gets old, does it?” Fox said as he took a seat next to Krystal. The two of them had both showered, and were dressed in their usual comfortable clothes they wore around the ship. Krystal nuzzled into Fox’s neck and put her hand on his chest.
  349.
  350. “No. No it doesn’t.” She finally replied.
  351.
  352. After a long few minutes of silence, Fox asked a question he’d been wanting to ask since the Zoness mission. “Have you had any visions, anything that might help us?”
  353.
  354. “No. Nothing. Not even a dream.”
  355.
  356. “Hmm.” was his only response. They continued to sit there, silently enjoying each other’s company, and silently dreading whatever was coming, with no clue about what it was.
  357.
  358. ———— Chapter 8 ————
  359.
  360. “This is Vulpine One, checking in.”
  361.
  362. “Vulpine Two, checking in.”
  363.
  364. “Vulpine Three, checking in.”
  365.
  366. “Alright. Keep tight formation. The atmosphere is thick and visibility is gonna be a huge problem.” James said calmly over comms. He took his sunglasses off to be able to see the dimly lit canyon they were flying through.
  367.
  368. “Did James just take his sunglasses off?” Pigma laughed. “Peppy we better be careful, I don’t think I’ve ever seen James without those sunglasses on. Must be dangerous.”
  369.
  370. “Will you shut up for one second and take this seriously? You’re gonna get us all killed.” Came the voice of Peppy over comms.
  371.
  372. “Guys I think we got company.” James interrupted. “Contact 1 o’ clock, 500 meters, high. Break formation.” James pulled up quickly and shot into the sky at the oncoming aircraft. As he saw them fall out of the sky, more took their place.
  373.
  374. “We’re clear behind. We should retreat, there’s too many.” Peppy advised.
  375.
  376. “Actually no, I don’t think so.” Pigma said solemnly. “Sorry guys.” He pulled back and charged his lasers, locking them onto Peppy and James.
  377.
  378. “Pigma whats going on?” James asked frantically.
  379.
  380. “Andross offered me a lot of money. A lot more than you were paying. I need the money.”
  381.
  382. “So you’re just going to throw us under the bus?” Peppy yelled. The few ships in the fog had revealed themselves to be an armada of ships up close. They surrounded James and Peppy’s Arwings.
  383.
  384. “Yep. Sorry.” Pigma replies before turning to leave. “It’s nothing personal guys.”
  385.
  386. James was seething with anger. He fired indiscriminately into the crowd of ships around them, prompting them to fire back.
  387.
  388. “Peppy, go. I’ll hold them off.” He yelled.
  389.
  390. “No! You go!”
  391.
  392. “Come on Pep, now. I can only hold them for so long. You should go. Now.” He frantically avoided their fire as he picked off one by one. After a brief moment of hesitation, Peppy complied with his orders. James continued to shoot at the aircrafts surrounding them as they chased Peppy into the atmosphere.
  393.
  394. “Take care of Fox, Pep.”
  395.
  396. “James shut up you’re gonna make it”
  397.
  398. “It’s been an honor flying with you.” James broadcast on all channels, hoping to reach his assailants. “Hey, I’m the one you want. Let him go.”
  399.
  400. “James no—“ the ships swarmed around him until he had nowhere left to go. He looked at the picture of his son and his wife, taped to the dashboard of his Arwing. His shields began to fail from the repeated laserfire. He never took his eyes off the picture while he raised the cover on the bomb detonator switch.
  401.
  402. “I’m sorry, Fox” he whispered, and with a quick flick of the switch
  403.
  404. He was gone.
  405.
  406. ———— Chapter 9 ————
  407.
  408. Fox shot out of bed, gasping for breath. It was the second time this week he had dreamt of his father. This time felt even more real than the last.
  409.
  410. Fox heard knocking on his door. “Hey, it’s me, Krystal” he heard from the other side. “0317: LOCAL”
  411.
  412. “What could she be doing up?” He wondered to himself as he walked to the door and opened it to see Krystal standing outside his door. She seemed shaken up by something. “Hey. Are you ok? What’s wrong?”
  413.
  414. “Can I come in?”
  415.
  416. “Of course.” The two sat down on Fox’s bed and she revealed what was wrong.
  417.
  418. “Did you dream of your father?”
  419.
  420. “Yeah, I did. Did you...?”
  421.
  422. “Yeah. I experienced it with you. That was horrible...” she hugged him tightly. “Are you ok Fox?”
  423.
  424. “Yeah, I’m ok.” He said, holding her close to him. He placed his hand on her cheek and leaned in to kiss her. Krystal closed her eyes and leaned in. When they finally pulled away, Krystal presses her forehead against his and nuzzled into him.
  425.
  426. “I love you, Fox” she whispered to him.
  427.
  428. “I love you, too” Fox kisses her forehead before returning to her lips. After a few moments as their kiss grew in intensity, Fox pushed Krystal gently down onto the bed. She looked up at him expectantly and he joined his lips to her again, even more intensely than the last time. The two of them grew frantic as they removed their clothes. They had both wanted this for a very long time.
  429.
  430. ————
  431.
  432. Fox woke up to his usual alarm. “0700, LOCAL” the clock flashed before Fox reached over to turn off the alarm. Krystal stirred in his arms, rolling over to face him.
  433.
  434. “Good morning, Krys” he said, smiling. She smiled back at him and nuzzled into him.
  435.
  436. “Good morning, Foxy”
  437.
  438. The two laid there for some time before deciding they needed to get out of bed.
  439.
  440. ————
  441.
  442. As Fox walked into the kitchen to make breakfast, the rest of the crew were already there.
  443.
  444. “Did you two finally bang last night?” Katt asked. Falco snickered.
  445.
  446. “Good morning, Katt.” Fox said, rolling his eyes. Krystal walked into the kitchen, wearing Fox’s clothes.
  447.
  448. “Y’all did didn’t you?” Katt exclaimed.
  449.
  450. “You’re unbearable” Falco teased.
  451.
  452. “Come on you know you’re excited”
  453.
  454. “Ok yeah I admit that” he chuckled.
  455.
  456. “Guys if I make you pancakes will you shut up” Fox said, laughing.
  457.
  458. “You know we will” Katt replied “For now”
  459.
  460. “Incoming transmission from General Peppy” ROB announces loudly.
  461.
  462. “Fox? Are you there?” Peppy asked, not sounded like his usual cheery self.
  463.
  464. “Yeah I’m here Pep, whats up?”
  465.
  466. “We have 3 carrier ships launching attacks on Corneria. Our Navy is converging but you can get here faster and we need all the help we can get.”
  467.
  468. “Got it. We’re on our way. Falco, you good to fly?”
  469.
  470. “Yeah Fox” he said getting up.
  471.
  472. “Ok, everyone get ready. ROB, full speed to Corneria. Slippy, Leks, you coming?”
  473.
  474. “Yeah we’re coming” Slippy answered.
  475.
  476. “Alright. Everyone meet in the hangar in 5 minutes.”
  477.
  478. ———— Chapter 10 ————
  479.
  480. “Ok guys form teams of two. Krystal, on me. We’re gonna take one carrier each. Find a way to take it down, these things have to have a weak spot. Slippy, get working on that, let us know when you find something. Check your fire, we have friendliest in the fight. Mark your targets on HUD. Everyone copy?”
  481.
  482. “Copy that.” Krystal replied.
  483.
  484. “I copy Fox. Katt and I will take this one” Falco said, marking the teams HUD.
  485.
  486. “Copy that! I’ll be taking a look at this one. Leks, cover me.”
  487.
  488. “Alright. Stay in contact.” Fox said as he and Krystal approached their carrier. After flying around it and destroying the ships that exited it for a few minutes, Slippy came over the comms.
  489.
  490. “Looks like the bridge is laser-resistant but bombs could blow the glass and depressurize. That should take out their controls.”
  491.
  492. “Copy that, Slip.” Fox said, flying towards the ships bridge. He shot a bomb towards it and the glass imploded.
  493.
  494. “As for the ships that are coming out, the power generator is inside the ship. You’re going to have to board it.” Fox and Krystal fought their way into the hangar of the ship and jumped out before allowing their Arwings to leave on autopilot.
  495.
  496. “How do we get there?”
  497.
  498. “Leks just uploaded scanned ship schematics to your consoles. The energy source seems to be where the red dot is marked.”
  499.
  500. “Copy that” Fox lead the way as he and Krystal ran through the empty hallways of the ship. As a door opened to reveal two enemy soldiers, Fox and Krystal dispatched them with two short bursts. Beyond that door was the power source, with several personnel standing around it and operating controls surrounding it. Their hands immediately went up in surrender.
  501.
  502. “Fox... these are prisoners. Scientists being forced to help.” Krystal informed him.
  503.
  504. “Ok, you guys come with us.” He pressed a button on his chest. “Be advised we have prisoners operating the power source, check your fire. ROB, send shuttles to each of the hangar bays alongside our Arwings.”
  505.
  506. “Affirmative”
  507.
  508. “Copy that, Fox” Katt acknowledged.
  509.
  510. Fox and Krystal each planted bombs on the reactor in the center of the room and then ran towards the hangar with their 3 rescued prisoners. “ROB, send Krystal’s Arwing and my Arwing with a shuttle”
  511.
  512. “Affirmative”
  513.
  514. As they ran into the hangar, they found it nearly empty, save for two soldiers boarding their ships, and they flew out immediately. The two Arwings landed inside with the shuttle, and everyone boarded their ships. “ROB, prisoners on board the shuttle. Take it back. Krystal, on me, there’s still way too many ships out there.”
  515.
  516. “Copy that.”
  517.
  518. “Starfox, status report.”
  519.
  520. “We’ve taken down our carriers but we’re still overwhelmed out here.” Falco replied.
  521.
  522. “Damn it. We need more help.”
  523.
  524. “Did the night Fox McCloud just say he needed help?” A familiar voice came over the radio.
  525.
  526. “Oh great. Come to gloat?” Fox said jokingly.
  527.
  528. “You know I always do. Heard what was going on, thought I might lend you a hand.” Wolf replied.
  529.
  530. “For the record, I only came because Wolf promised Krystal would be here. I’m glad I won’t be disappointed” Panther added.
  531.
  532. “Ew.” Krystal replied.
  533.
  534. “I hope we’re at least getting paid for this” Leon snarked.
  535.
  536. “Well thanks for coming guys. We could use all the help we can get.”
  537.
  538. ———— Chapter 11 ————
  539.
  540. After the last of the fighter ships were destroyed, the team reconvened at the Great Fox, along with Star Wolf and General Peppy.
