- That walk took her past Fall, and despite her training, despite her fury, despite everything she'd done to harden her heart… Fall's tears got through. Ignoring Vi's request, Fall stood between Carolina and Baiken, holding her arms wide like a human shield. Tears flowed freely, but her anguish was armored in resolve tougher than steel.
- "I can't let you do this, dude," Fall said. "I can't just stand by and watch this."
- "Fall," Carolina said sternly. "Step aside."
- "Baiken's not your enemy!" Fall shot back. "It's the Director that stuck us in this fucked up mess! The Director pitted us against each other! She's the one you should be mad at!"
- "Step. Aside."
- "Do you even know why she-"
- Carolina had heard enough. She wouldn't be convinced; a traitor was a traitor. Activating her suit's speed, Carolina moved faster than thought, planting a knee in Fall's stomach before she could even register than Carolina had moved. Switching feet let Carolina plant her leg, swinging her free foot around for a roundhouse to the head that turned Fall into a projectile, launching her sideways and through a wooden pillar thick enough to hide a man in.
