  1. [03:55] It seemed that was a mistake, and he had not even started ruling yet. Ah. Alexander walks over to Andrew and places a hand on his shoulder. "Thanks," and yet, he does not dwell. "How has your training been progressing?"
  2. (Alexander ras Petrakis)
  3. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  4.
  5. [03:59] A brief dip of his head comes upon the hand on his shoulder, a wave of relief washing through him with that single 'thanks'. "Your answer was fine, my liege. It was just that she did not understand why."
  6.
  7. At the question of his training, however, Andrew grimaced. "My training has been... Slow and steady would be one way of saying it. I got my as--" Stopping himself, Andrew clears his throat. "I got defeated by an acolyte, earlier today, and it seemed she was having quite the easy time."
  8.
  9. "I believe I'm starting to notice the problems of not being particularly keen on any magic?" A hint of uncertainty permeates through his voice, almost as if it was a question.
  10. (Andrew Lancaster)
  11. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  12.
  13. [04:02] "I know that feeling all too well. I fought Ser August earlier. He is strong! And tough! And explosive," Alexander seemed agitated about that, judging by his expression.
  14.
  15. "-- Which magic will you choose? Fighting without a clear one will always be harder than with one."
  16. (Alexander ras Petrakis)
  17. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  18.
  19. [04:05] "If it's that exciting, I should try fighting with Ser August! After I'm able to beat someone my age, at least." A brief chuckle, the cadet shook his head from side to side as if to simply dismiss the thought from his head.
  20.
  21. "Well, I was... Honestly, I wanted to try my hand at learning the art of the stars. I do not feel any particular tendencies, except for that. I don't feel like there's anything that symbolizes what I want to be more than the arts wielded by most legendary knights."
  22. (Andrew Lancaster)
  23. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  24.
  25. [04:08] "Did you not listen to anything I said?!" A hand shakes Andrew before falling to the Prince's side. His head pans from side to side. And then he smiles when he hears Andrew's answer.
  26.
  27. "Good choice. That stars would smile if they heard that. Now. Where are you at. Do you have a teacher?"
  28. (Alexander ras Petrakis)
  29. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  30.
  31. [04:11] Andrew is SHAKEN! Quite literally- And it is obvious from his suddenly wide eyes that it was unexpected, before he lets out a more hearty cackle, recovering his balance. "Oh no, I did listen to what you said! I just have challenges in front of me. Fighting against tougher opponents, and coming out on top!"
  32.
  33. One fist pump into the air, he seems to nearly try to invoke whatever heroic imagery a fifteen year old doing so could- It is rather silly, given his body lacks the mass, armor or anything that could make him intimidating.
  34.
  35. However, soon enough, he lowers his arm. All this time, he was considering his answer to Alexander, before opening up a wide smile. "I just started reading the Codex. Couldn't find a priest or a teacher to tell me how everything worked."
  36.
  37. The deadpan eyes seemed to be merely an attempt at, along with that smile, hide the regret of not doing anything significant so far.
  38. (Andrew Lancaster)
  39. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  40.
  41. [04:16] Alexander looks at him as if he is crazy. It did not seem they felt the same way over losing to strong opponents. Though, he can appreciate the enthusiasm of that heroic strike into the air. Even if it did look puny and somewhat silly.
  42.
  43. "Let us go then. We will see who is at the Church and I can show you the start of the magic. Then Lord Robin Queen or Elder Berrios can finish teaching you. Make sure to find them, Andrew. I will not take no for an answer," he instructs and already does he start off, expecting Andrew to follow.
  44. (Alexander ras Petrakis)
  45. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  46.
  47. [04:17] Andrew Lancaster says, "Ahm... Aeh... Sure."
  48. [04:17] Alexander ras Petrakis says, "No, a yes."
  49. [04:22] Alexander enters alongside Andrew and immediately does he become more serious. A bow of his head is given when he first enters, and then he proceeds forward, taking in the sight of the Priests and Acolytes gathered.
  50.
  51. "Greetings, priest Inante, acolyte Jamey and other. This is Andrew, a cadet. I will just be borrowing one of the pews to help teach him, if that is fine with you all."
  52. (Alexander ras Petrakis)
  53. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  54.
  55. [04:24] Andrew seemed to keep his serious demeanor for the most part, until attention was brought to HIM. Blushing slightly, the cadet only shook his head up and down in response. "Yes, I-- I just need the help."
  56.
  57. And then, he looked over towards Alexander, knitting eyebrows just briefly. "So I'm going to have you as my teacher so I can start?"
  58. (Andrew Lancaster)
  59. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  60.
  61. [04:28] Inante is welcomed at the sight of the crowned Prince, He notices the bow he gives a warm and welcomed smile towards the young prince. "Of course your majesty, The Library is also available to you if you'd like, Which ever you feel suits your lesson best." His eyes would slightly move over towards the Princes guest.
  62.
  63. "I am Inante Arl Salis, One of the Priest of the Celestial Church, Had you any need of my services just be sur to as-" His sentence was cut short by Tea's outburst but he quickly gave her a stern look.
  64.
  65. "Language Tea. Do you remember the conversation we had about respect?" He didn't really seem all to amused by the outburst but he left it at that. Turning his attention back to Andrew and the Prince.
  66.
  67. "Good luck in your lessons Cadet." He said dipping his head before moving towards Tea.
  68.
  69. "I'm not sure where your ingredients are, How would I even have that information when I've been here all day. Do you remember where you put them?" He'd ask curiously wondering what she was talking about, His voice didn't raise any higher or lower as to when he was talking to the prince, But it was far more casual.
  70. (Inante Arl Salis)
  71. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  72.
  73. [04:34] "Thank you, Priest Inante," he says, grateful to the man. Eventually he is cut off by Tea and it leaves time for Alexander to address Andrew once more.
  74.
  75. "Now, your first mistake Andrew," he says, while he hears Tea talk of food in the background. "You failed to introduce yourself properly. Priest Inante is busy so you can apologize to him later. For now, apologize to acolyte Jamey and try again," he smiled, "Sorry about that, acolyte."
  76. (Alexander ras Petrakis)
  77. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  78. [04:39] She'd shake her head, "No offense taken, in all respects neither'd I made my name known to your acquaintance sir, I am Acolyte Jamey of the Faith. Jamey or Acolyte work interchangeably as well. Likewise brother Inante is also 'Deacon' for future reference. Though names and titles are typically used in formal gatherings or proper conversation between visitors and other members of the church."
  79.
  80. She'd give another bow addressing him, "If you need me to lend you in any capacity, you need only ask sir!" 'Less she was asked she carried on her way, to run errands for The Faith of miniscule proportions. (day-to-day things)
  81. (Jamey)
  82. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  83.
  84. [04:44] First mistake?! Already?! It seemed that things were going to be really tough for Andrew from now on, and perhaps this was just the start. A brief bow was given in the direction of the Acolyte, his voice soon enough coming to apologize. "Ah- Of course. I am sorry, miss Jamey - Given the prince already introduced me, I believe it would be out of place to introduce myself yet again."
  85.
  86. A brief glance is given to the side, towards Inante, before he looks over to the other pews. "I will apologize to him once he is done over there; I do not want to interrupt, after all."
  87. (Andrew Lancaster)
  88. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  89.
  90. [04:48] "For now, I should be able to handle him. Thank you though, Jamey, you are always helpful."
  91.
  92. Alexander gestures Andrew forward first. He nods his head to the Acolyte in passing and takes a seat on the pew next to his cadet.
  93.
  94. "The reason you need to be polite and reach out is because the stars are not just a magic you can force. Do you know how they have different names or have you not read that far yet?" he raises a brow at Andrew.
  95. (Alexander ras Petrakis)
  96. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  97.
  98. [04:49] While she waits for his response, she lets mana leave her again, fueling the holy ritual enveloping the church in a warm and serene feeling of comfort to any who let themselves...
  99. (Jamey)
  100. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  101.
  102. [04:52] Urged forward, the Lancaster does easily move, sitting upon one of the pews with the prince right by his side. Right at it, Andrew seems to glance towards the room, apparently confused or simply out of words - Truth be told, he spent awfully little time here, and more in the library.
  103.
  104. "I know it is not a magic I can force; I do try to be polite, I'm just... A tad... nervous..." And then, a clearing of his throat, he decided to first explain what he had known about the Faith. "I have read just the start. About the formation of the world, and the constellation of Leonaus."
  105. (Andrew Lancaster)
  106. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  107.
  108. [04:53] August cos Solenne says, "Greetings, Prince Alexander."
  109. [04:54] Alexander ras Petrakis says, "Hello, Ser August. I am just helping Andrew here."
  110. [04:54] Andrew Lancaster says, "Good... Morning, I believe, sir August."
  111. [04:54] She approached Lloyd and gave a bow, "If I can offer you any form of assistance let me know."
  112. (Jamey)
  113. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  114.
  115. [04:55] August cos Solenne says, "Greetings to you as well, young Andrew."
  116. [04:58] "That is a start, Andrew but you have to read more if you want to learn! Each of the eighteen stars in the constellation go by a different name and serve a different purpose. And you will have to find the one that suits you or perhaps it will choose you. But you have to be able to reach out. Since nervousness is your problem in contacting your star, we will work on that."
  117.
  118. "Excuse me, Acolyte, could I borrow you for a moment?" he glances across the hall to the blonde holy magi.
  119. (Alexander ras Petrakis)
  120. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  121.
  122. [04:59] Alexander ras Petrakis says, "..."
  123. [04:59] Andrew Lancaster says, "I think she didn't hear you."
  124. [04:59] Alexander ras Petrakis says, "Yes. That must be it.."
  125. [05:03] "It doesn't matter, though. It's not nervousness that keeps me from contacting my star, this nervousness comes more often when meeting new people, which..." He stops for a few moments. Was it the moment to put a bit of his concerns bare? Perhaps - The church was the place for prayer, confession and seeking council.
  126.
  127. "Might be related, given it is constantly watching. I have tried researching about many things, last time I came here - I ended up having a conversation with Romani and the Rhoynish about one of their legends, and how the moon was always a thing viewed in poor manner."
  128.
  129. Another sigh, before he does continue. "I have barely seen through the stars, however, and I still do not understand one thing. Do I choose them, or do they choose me?" An eyebrow quirked up, he looked over towards Alexander.
  130. (Andrew Lancaster)
  131. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  132.
  133. [05:10] "It can be either way, but you have to be willing first. Here, let us try something and you will look silly but tough luck," Alexander says.
  134.
  135. "Close your eyes and reach up to the ceiling. Imagine you are reaching for a star and then repeat after me. Stella, exaudi me," the Crown Prince instructs, leading the way thereafter.
  136.
  137. His own hand outstretches and the faint glow of Leonaus starts to emerge, star magic collecting in his palm.
  138.
  139. "There has been enough time for research, reach out to something in the sky with your magic."
  140. (Alexander ras Petrakis)
  141. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  142.
  143. [05:15] Looking silly - Well, if it wasn't brought up, he'd never know! Eyes widen slightly, and as the instructions follow, he looks upward, towards the ceiling. A few moments of concentration seem to pass, before he finally lets out a sigh.
  144.
  145. Hands stretch out, and his arms rise up, in the same direction as his gaze. "Stella, exaudi me." The attempt at reaching to something seems to be only marginally successful. Andrew has, so far, never practiced any kind of magic.
  146.
  147. Attuning does not seem to be the hardest thing ever, given the small flickers of raw mana that skip from his fingertips, as if trying to trace their way up to the skies, but... There seems to be nothing. Yet, patience is a virtue - One that Andrew was gifted with.
  148.
  149. Breathing under control, his fingers squeeze against themselves occasionally, trying to once again 'connect' with something, a thin trail of mana coursing upwards, and then collapsing upon itself. "Is this how I should do it?" His voice seems still stifled with doubt, even if considerably less than his usual self has.
  150. (Andrew Lancaster)
  151. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  152.
  153. [05:16] He looked at her confused for a moment wondering why she looked at him with a wrinkled face, He placed his hand in front of his mouth and did a breath test and clearly found out why...and groaned..
  154.
  155. His mood did get a little better as he heard her say thank you though. It really brightened his day. "You're welcome Tea. Like I said I'll look out for you as best I can. And if this helps you feel more safe then then i'm glad I can help." he said with his ever charming smile.
  156. (Inante Arl Salis)
  157. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  158.
  159. [05:20] Lloyd totally, definitely, didn't end up falling asleep on the pew behind the lot of them, and he certainly wasn't snoring as he did. Of course not.
  160.
  161.
  162. ...zzz.
  163. (Lloyd Durages)
  164. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  165.
  166. [05:21] "Yes. You can even make a fist as if you are catching the star. Keep repeating the phrase," he smiles. Andrew would perhaps not feel it right away, especially considering how much of a beginner he was, but all that mattered was for him to gain confidence and a better understanding of how to channel his magic with a goal in mind.
  167.
  168. Symbolic casting. Visionary casting. Runecasting and voice casting.
  169.
  170. The Crown Prince lets Andrew repeat this a few times, for a few minutes and then rises to a stand. "Keep practicing that at home. Then find Lord Queen or try to achieve it on your own. When you feel your star, you will know and after that, it is like a friendship." Perhaps not the most accurate way to explain it, Alexander was young after all but conveying the idea was what was most important.
  171. (Alexander ras Petrakis)
  172. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  173.
  174. [05:27] At the mention of repeating the phrase, Andrew does briefly nod at that moment, soon enough repeating the phrase yet again. "Stella, exaudi me." And once again, his fingers stretch out, every time the coursing mana reaching just a little bit farther. Obviously, he was lacking in magical power to progress through it, or...
  175.
  176. He lacked the attunement to a star proper, if it was that instead. "Stella, exaudi me." And then, hand closed, the briefest of mana expanding out from within his fist. For a few more moments, he continued, until Alexander rose.
  177.
  178. That was, unfortunately, enough to break his concentration, a strand of slowly aggregating yellowish mana dissipating into the air. A sigh leaves his lips, before a wide smile takes shape. "Well, thank you, prince Alexander. This was... Most helpful, honestly."
  179.
  180. "I think I just need to seek a star now, then?"
  181. (Andrew Lancaster)
  182. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  183.
  184. [05:35] The Prince nods, catching that small glimmer of cosmic magic that touched Andrew's fingertip.
  185.
  186. "Seek a star, connect with it. Create a bond," he smiled, trusting Andrew to be up to the task.
  187.
  188. "Now, I will excuse myself. Oh, by the way, call me Alexander," with those parting words said, he waited for Andrews response and then would probably leave.
  189. (Alexander ras Petrakis)
  190. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  191.
  192. [05:41] Seek a star, connect with it, and then create a bond. He had to learn about the stars in order to seek them in the first place, but it was an exceptional first step! A brief nod is given to the Prince, before the new set of words came forth.
  193.
  194. To call him Alexander. Well, this was a step in the right direction! A smile plastered upon his face, the thing he wished for a few weeks ago now reassured. "Of course, Alexander." Holding back the urge to say that it was due to his preference, but alas.
  195.
  196. "Have a good... Morning." Glancing out the windows, he was pretty sure it was morning.
  197. (Andrew Lancaster)
  198. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  199.
  200. [05:42] "You as well, Andrew. You as well," he says, headed off. He ends up stifling a yawn a few steps outside of the Church, once the morning light hits his face. Then, he is gone.
  201. (Alexander ras Petrakis)
