  1. Here is an FAQ / Price list for commissioning me (Heresy) to do artwork. These prices are subject to change if there is a sharp increase in demand but for now they should be considered official. If I state on my Tumblr or other social media sites that I am currently not taking commissions, please do not pester me until I announce that commissions are open.

  4. PRICING SECTION
  5. ------------
  6.
  7. Prices (plus tax / Paypal fees):
  8.
  9. $20 for a sketch (one character)
  10. $10 for an additional character (up to three characters total)
  11.
  12.
  13. $25 for a colored sketch (one character)
  14. $12 per additional character (up to three characters in total)
  15.
  16. $30 for an inked lineart picture
  17. $15 per additional character
  18.
  19. $40 for a flat color image (inked lines and no shading) with a simple background
  20. $20 per additional character
  21.
  22.
  23. $50 for an HQ color illustration (ink and shaded color, simple background included)
  24. $25 per additional character (up to three in total)
  25. $15-40 for a detailed background (depending on level of complexity)
  26.
  27. $25 for a full HQ color avatar (head / face only, shaded)
  28. $50 for a character reference sheet (flat shaded, front + back or side views); variants available at negotiable prices (such as a “naked” version + a version wearing an outfit)
  29.
  30. I also accept image sponsorships! If you want to pay me to redo an older sketch of mine in glorious HQ color, the prices for sponsoring an image are as follows (I do not charge extra for the background):
  31.
  32. $25 for a single character
  33. $12 per additional character
  34.
  35. As the client I will always give you a copy of the highest resolution ("print-quality") .PNG file and a .PSD master file. It is yours to tinker with and do as you please with, and you may post it to your social media sites (i.e. Tumblr, FA, Facebook, etc.).
  36.
  37. If you commission me to draw a just a sketch but want it in color later, you can pay as you go. For example, if you commission a sketch from me and want it colored in HQ color with a basic background later, I will charge you the cost difference between those two services ($40)
  38.
  39. If you want a picture + variants then price can be negotiated. i.e. if you want two versions of a sketch where the character's outfit is different, depending on the level of complexity it could be as little as $5 or less. If they are two wildly different, complex outfits I will probably ask for more. Same goes for poses-- changing a character's facial expression is very simple, but a different body pose will likely cost more depending on the complexity of the request.
  40.
  41. I will put a "thank you" note at the bottom of the finished image you've sponsored with your screen name crediting you for sponsoring it, or I can write you down as “Anonymous.” "Color sponsored by [your screen name]. Thank you!" You will also receive a .ZIP file containing a lossless .PNG file and the original .PSD master file, just like with a commission. These are higher resolution than what I normally post online and you can do what you want with them.

  72.
  73. FAQ:
  74.
  75. Q: What is the best way to contact you?
  76. A: My public e-mail, since I check it regularly. icantbelieveitsnotheresy (AT) gmail (DOT) com. I am also on Furaffinity.net (http://www.furaffinity.net/user/heresyart/)
  77.
  78. Q: How do I pay you?
  79. A: I currently use Paypal only. When we agree on the picture contents and price, I will ask for your Paypal E-mail address and I will send you an invoice.
  80.
  81. Q: Do you accept cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin?
  82. A: I do not at this time.
  83.
  84. Q: Can I get you to draw more than three characters for a commission?
  85. A: I can negotiate. I generally don’t like taking on large projects but I’m willing to hear you out.
  86.
  87. Q: Who owns the picture?
  88. A: You are technically the owner of the picture, and I also have a right to publish it unless specifically requested otherwise (I consider this a special circumstance and I would like to discuss it further if that is your wish). You may also edit the image but please be sure to specify that the image has been edited when you post it.
  89.
  90. Unless agreed upon otherwise (see above) I prefer to have some rights to monetize the drawing in the future, including but not limited to:
  91. Posting WIP updates as a reward for my Patreon members
  92. Posting lossless hi-res versions as a reward for my Patreon members
  93. Posting a sketch to my sketches archive and allowing Patreon members to vote for it to be colored (usually after a period of of several months has elapsed; and this does not mean by default that I will do this with your commission)
  94. Making prints to sign and / or sell
  95.
  96. I will NOT under any circumstance claim to own characters that do not belong to me, and I won’t claim to own a character if you ask me to help design them as part of a character reference sheet commission. I am not in the business of trying to steal other people’s characters so you don’t need to worry about it.
  97.
  98. Q: Can I remain anonymous?
  99. A: I will be extremely discreet with your Paypal email address and real name and I will not share them with anyone. I will always ask if you have a preferred online handle you'd like credited for the commission if and when I post it online, and to post in my public commissions queue. If you prefer, I can list you as “Anonymous.”
  100.
  101. Q: When will you start working on my commission?
  102. A: Generally speaking, I like to start work on commissions as soon as I get paid. I will do everything I can not to leave you hanging, and if I send you the Paypal invoice it usually means I am ready to start. The exception will be if I have multiple commissions from multiple clients, though I do not intend to have more than a few queued up at a time. I will let you know what place in line you are if that is the case.
  103.
  104. Q: Can I watch you draw my request?
  105. A: Of course! My Picarto channel is https://picarto.tv/HeresyArtStream
  106.
  107. If you watch me work on your commission, you can be more engaged with my creative process, and I can get your immediate feedback to ensure it comes out in a way that will make you as the client happy.
  108.
  109. Q: Do you do refunds?
  110. A: Yes, conditionally. I like to have my clients involved with the process and so that I can receive feedback as early as possible. The further I get in my drawing process, the more difficult it is to make changes or start over. If something big like a color commission is more than 50% finished I cannot do a refund on it, which is why it's important that you give me feedback early in the process. If you feel that things simply aren’t going to work out from early on while I am still sketching, I can issue a full refund.
  111.
  112. I would much rather give you a piece of art that you can be happy with than to have to cancel our transaction, which is why I want to find out if there are any problems as soon as possible. And if for some reason I myself am absolutely unable to finish your commission, such as in the case of a personal / family emergency, I will refund you as soon as possible.
