  1. //Scene describing the belly garden right before entrance to Charybdis's inner sanctum.
  2. Rowing further into the cavern, you pass through a narrow slit in the walls and, through that slit, into a broad circular area of clear artificial origin. Ruined marble and slate pillars jut out from depressions in the smooth limestone of the cave and from the grotto's depths. Faded ivy and black climbing roses smother the pillars and float on the surface of the water, giving this particular cavern the appearance of a subterranean garden. The broken, serpent-like architecture is beautiful, but it's hard to appreciate it in light of the garden's other dominant feature. \n\nAs you approached the room, the subtle moaning you heard when you first entered the grotto rose in volume, and, as you now reach its center, that moaning dominates your attention. Scattered throughout the cavern, half-sunk into the limestone and the dark waters, are women of myriad races, their bellies swollen enormously--packed full to the verge of rupture and dwarfing the poor victims they are attached to. The envelopes of flesh, scale, and fur surrounding the womb fixtures dotting the belly garden are pulled so tight that the bioluminescent... something inside them shines through, bathing the architecture and flowers in multifaceted light and making the water's surface sparkle like a shattering rainbow on a black sky. \n\nDespite how tightly packed they are, the women's bellies slosh liquidly, bobbing up and down in the water, and, as they bob, the women cry out in a way that makes it impossible for you to tell if they are experiencing ecstasy or excruciating pain. A door inset into a mostly intact, if sunken, temple complex at the room's far edge is wedged open. Through the wedge, two shadows are projected on the garden's far wall, one of a winged warrior--likely Psyche--and the other large, monstrous, bulbous, and surrounded by a forest of questing tendrils. By the sounds emanating out from it, and the movement of the two shadows, it's clear a fight is waiting for you on the other side of that door.

Despite girding yourself for a fight before entering, you can't help but flinch when a blur of blond hair and feathers smashes into the carved stone relief wall of the sanctum inches away from your standing position at the room's threshold. You recognize a heavily battered psyche, and you stare at her a moment, a bit dumbfounded, as she rises, wiping stone dust and caked blood off her lips with the back of her hand. \n\n");
  12.
  13. outputText("\"<i>[player.name],</i>\" she says, cracking her neck and leaning into her spear to support her wobbling legs as her wings' tailfeathers drag on the ground. \"<i>I'm surprised you followed me. Glad, but surprised. Are you here to gawk, or shall we work together to put that bitch over there down for good?</i>\"\n\n");
  14.
  15. outputText("She gestures toward the center of the sanctum chamber and you follow her gaze, meeting eye to eye, for the first time, with the monster that your Valkyrie acquaintance has been hunting since you met her.\n\n");
  16.
  17. outputText("The creature is an octopus from the waist down and a woman from the waist up. Or rather, you assume her woman half starts from the waist up, since her absolutely phenomenally enormous belly occludes your view of her waist, and of a sizeable portion of her two back-breaking rows of tits, and of a lot, really. There's not much you can see of her that isn't framed or partially obscured by the belly that the rest of her being orbits around. Whereas the women in the belly garden were packed tight, the Cecaelia's belly is soft and slack--almost plump looking. Decadent. And she is pulling down on the orb with two of her eight spined tentacles to keep its top swell low enough for her to stare down the line of her cleavage at you as she lies reclining on a frayed, faded red couch.\n\n");
  18.
  19. outputText("\"<i>Oh?</i>\" she asks. \"<i>'[player.name]'? You must help me, [player.name]. I was enjoying a nap on my very nice, very cultured reclining bench, here, when this--this--this tom-burglar barged in and attacked me!</i>\".\n\n");
  20.
  21. outputText("As she speaks, the hyper-bellied octopus woman slowly rotates herself with her tentacles, caressing her various bulges in a distinctly not-concerned manner even as she mimes distress with her hands and face. \"<i>It is a terrible thing, to be attacked in one's home,</i>\" she says, \"<i>and with my poor tummy, here, in such a... mmm... <b>delicate condition.</b></i>\" As she says this, she watches you through lidded, cephelopodic eyes, rubbing one milk leaking nipple between thumb and forefinger as her tentacles continue caressing and wobbling the soft, fleshy planetoid splayed out on the ground in front of her. \"<i>I have read of heroes in my books, always saving damsels in distress,</i>\" she says.\"<i>I would be your 'damsel.' Would you be my 'hero?'</i>\"\n\n");
  22.
  23. outputText("\"<i>Don't listen to her,</i>\" Psyche says. \"<i>She has spent eons growing fat by deceiving others. Remember Nepenthe.</i>\".\n\n");
  24.
  25. outputText("\"<i>Nepenthe?</i>\" the Cecaelia says, suddenly flopping forward onto her belly with her tentacles waving animatedly behind her. \"<i>Oh, my dear friend Nepenthe? You speak of her, now that you are not trying to kill me?</i>\" The Cecaelia slowly leverages herself onto her octopus-like tentacles, shimmying toward Psyche and causing her belly and breasts to jiggle. Psyche tenses, raising her spear, and the Cecaelia stops.\n\n");
  26.
  27. outputText("\"<i>Who gave <b>you</b> permission to speak about my sister?</i>\" Psyche asks.\n\n");
  28.
  29. outputText("\"<i>Sister?</i>\" the Cecaelia asks. \"<i>Then you are my little Nepenthe's sister? 'Psyche'? She talked of you very much, Psyche.</i>\" The Cecaelia has been watching Psyche as she speaks and, when she says her name, she nods, as if reading something in the Valkyrie's tensed shoulders. \"<i>Little Psyche, Nepenthe would be so sad to see what you are doing. She is so happy in her special place in my garden, and everything she did was for you, after all.</i>\"\n\n");
  30.

  32.
  33. outputText("\"<i>Why, that is not fair!</i>\" the Ceecaelia says, covering her mouth with one tentacle as if in shock while the others wave behind her. Her human half has been a pale blue color the entire time you have seen her, but, as she acts out her apparent shock, the skin flashes bright yellow, then black, then settles at a pale lavender, revealing that she is able to change colors. \"<i>[player.name] has not been given a choice. Come, [player.name], you do not know the full story between Nepenthe, the girl Psyche, and me--won't you help to convince this poor, unfortunate child that there is a better way?</i>\"\n\n");
  34.
  35. outputText("You glance between the hunter and the monster, mulling over their words. Hearing the Cecaelia's outrage, you can't help but think about the dead Valkyrie that your driven friend seemed so disinterested in talking about, and you wonder if you understand the full story here. Should you side with Psyche? The Cecaelia? You certainly can't afford to wait--both women seem increasingly agitated.\n\n");
