- Here'll you'll find info for the T5S2 S8 Team Showdown.
- TEAM COMPOSITION
- Each team will be composed of 5 unique players, including one team captain (who is to serve as the central point of contact for that team and is responsible for completing the team pairing process within 24 hours). Players on a team are not required to have any specific relation to each other, and players may only be a member of one team.
- Each player must submit one 2,000 point army list consistent with the v1.3 Munitorum Field Manual and Leviathan Games packet. Legend units may not be used.
- NOTE: Titans and Fortifications may be included)
- Across each entire team, units of each Faction keyword may only be included once (for example; if a player's list includes Agents of the Imperium units, no other players on the team may include units of that faction.
- NOTE: Faction keywords that appear elsewhere on a datasheet (such as the Aeldari keyword on Drukhari datasheets) are not considered for this restriction.
- REGISTRATION
- The registration fee per team is $50 USD ($10/player), payable upon registration at the BCP link below:
- XXX
- (if you do not wish to pay via BCP, PM @Trevy for alternative payment methods)
- Registration fees go towards GW credit for top placing teams (based on attendance), door prizes for teams that complete all rounds of the event, T5S2 Invitational prizes, and series upkeep. Approx. 75% of entry fees will be available in prize support.
- Team captains must collect BCP account e-mail addresses of the players on their team, register them under the team registration. Team Captains will also need to register themselves as a player (they aren't added automatically).
- Players and captains are both expected to include their Discord username in their BCP account name (or vise versa) for easy identification by opponents.
- GAME FORMAT
- See the tt-server-rules-and-resources channel for information regarding tool and component regulations, as well as rule and sportsmanship enforcement.
- Each round, team captains will convene to determine game pairings for the players on their team as described in the next section. Each game should be played with the following guidelines:
- All games wil be played using Warhammer 40k 10th Edition games using the Leviathan Games packet on 44x60" battlefields from the T5S2 Season 8 Map Pool.
- Each round will use preset mission combinations selected from the Levithan Tournament Companion.
- All players will receive the 10 VP painting bonus.
- 90-minute/player chess clocks are required for games appearing on TacticalTortoise or TacticalTortoiseTV livestreams. Otherwise, chess clocks are not required unless requested by one or both players. See the t5s2-faqs-rules-and-resources channel for specific timing regulations.
- All games are subject to the T5S2 10th Ed Judgements doc: https://pastebin.com/yPpeMzXQ
- NOTE: Rules judgements from other events are not necessarily in place for events in the TT server.
- PAIRINGS FORMAT
- Team captains whose teams are paired against one another are expected to communicate with each other ASAP upon pairings being posted and complete the following pairing process within 24 hours (using cards in a TTS lobby is a good way to accomplish simultaneous reveals).
- Each round a pool of terrain Layouts will be posted alongside the mission that will be selected by captains as the pairings process continues.
- Pairing Sequence - Step 1
- Team A and Team B secretly choose their defender and reveal them simultaneously.
- After that, Team A and team B secretly choose their two attackers for the given defender and
- reveal them simultaneously.
- Team A takes the two attackers given by team B, and secretly chooses which one is refused.
- Team B does the same with the two attackers selected by team A. The refused Attackers are
- revealed simultaneously and return to the pool of available armies.
- Captains roll off to determine which team will get to choose its terrain layout first. That team gains the “layout choice” token.
- At this point, two defenders know their attackers; this identifies two games. Log this pairing in BCP. The Team with the “layout choice” token chooses the layout their game will use first, followed by the defender who's team didn’t have the table choice token. The chosen layouts are removed from the available pool for that round.
- Pairing Sequence - Step 2
- Repeat Step 1 with the difference that the Team without the “layout choice” token now becomes
- the owner of this token throughout this pairing step.
- Sequence of events – Step 3
- At this point four games have been identified. The resulting players and layout becomes the pairing and layout for the fifth game.
- Round Scoring
- An individual player scores an amount of points for his team based on the VP differential
- outcome from the game with his opponent. To determine Game Points, each player counts their
- victory points, subtracts their opponent's victory points and consults the table below:
- VP Difference: Game Points Distribution
- 0-5: 10-10
- 6-10: 11-9
- 11-15: 12-8
- 16-20: 13-7
- 21-25: 14-6
- 26-30: 15-5
- 31-35: 16-4
- 36-40: 17-3
- 41-45: 18-2
- 46-50: 19-1
- >50: 20-0
- To determine the round score, players from each team count their combined Game Points. The
- combined total of all game point scores from all the players on a given team will give the result
- for the Team as a whole.
- Team Game Point Total: Result
- <45: Round Loss
- 45-55: Tie
- >55 Round Win
- LOGISTICS
- Each round of the event will last 1 week from pairings. Captains are expected to complete their game pairings within 24 hours of the round pairings going live. Failure to contact your opposing team's captain may result in a game loss.
- This is a GLOBAL event, so while round pairings will be posted on an EST schedule, players should expect to be paired with players outside their own time zone.
- If players find that they cannot schedule their game in time, they can:
- -Request an extension: in which case their game will be temporarily scored a 100-100 VP draw, and they will be gifted 72 additional hours to complete their game and submit an amended score.
- -Request a substitution: in which case another member of their team can play in their stead, using their army. A player may only act as a substitute once each round.
- In either case, players must submit requests at least 24 hours before the end of the round to @Trevy and receive approval.
- Otherwise, unplayed games will be resolved at judges' descretion; either as double losses, or as 20-0 GP victories for the innocent party in the event of a cancellation or communication breakdown.
- EVENT SCHEDULE
- This event will continue to pair teams in a swiss format until only a single undefeated team remains. Teams are free to drop at any time, and door prizes will be available for any teams that complete every round through the 4th (if applicable).
