- Ability Scores: Ability scores are seldom changed. They shape your character and their abilities, and also act as a form of “health”. The GM Will tell you your character’s ability scores upon generation. Reaching 0 in each ability score means death. An ability score 15 or higher on a character should be treasured.
- Strength: Strength is a measure of your character’s physical prowess, raw muscle power, and ability to do grueling tasks of might. Players who intend on being within the frontlines need strength in order to deal damage.
- Dexterity: Dexterity is a broader term for this role-play, it determines not only hand-eye coordination, but also your overall speed and ability to dodge projectiles. Some weapons require finesse and legerdemain, and bows are governed mostly by dexterity.
- Intelligence: Intelligence is your overall brain power. It’s the stored knowledge that you can apply to solving problems and finding information. You use intelligence in order to craft items, and those relying on magic best have high intelligence.
- Wisdom: Wisdom is your character’s intuition, ability to understand, and apply their knowledge to things. It is commonly used by clerics in order to use their boons or miracles. Wizards or mages also need high wisdom in order to learn things quickly, lest they want their fireballs fizzling in their hands.
- Constitution: Constitution is your hardiness; it determines your overall health, immune system, and ability to fight infections and disease. It’s important for every type of character, as it prevents certain death.
