Bio:
The (literal) bastard daughter and only child of the Deynastian noble Duke Trevaine of Elestan, a (figurative) bastard known mostly for his ambition, and the youngest daughter of the Count of Darmestes, who died in childbirth.  Abandoned by both families, she was taken in by Corentin Torriani, a senior scholar of the Royal Academy of Deynastria.  Though she was never was enrolled as an academy student due to her illegitimate birth making her ineligible (the Deynastrian Royal Academy being considered by Ys to be a collection of moribund reactionaries obsessed with blood over quality, and considering Ys in turn to be a jumped up gaggle of commoners and peasants play-acting at scholarly pursuits), she learned much under the tutelage of Corentin, who she considered a truer father than her father by blood.  When Corentin died three years ago, she was evicted from the Royal Academy, no longer able to rely on his protection.  She eventually fled to Ys, where she started a small library with the support of one of the many smaller schools scattered throughout the Duchy.

She now travels by her whims in search of knowledge and rare books, leaving the academy in the care of her partners as she pursues rumours of mysterious ancient tomes to bring back.  Her journey, the latest of several, was undertaken to search for a lost tome of history said to predate even the old Kingdom, though she knows little else about it.  Books were her world, and the all the world subject of her studies.  Formal, quiet, and rather reserved normally, she blossoms only in her natural academic context.  Her knowledge of magic is largely theoretical; most of her research has been into natural philosophy and history rather than the practical application of burnination, but she is a quick study.
