Character Concept Dump

- CRYPTIDS! Mothmen, Kappas, Mokele-mbembe... they're real and they hate you.
  - Normal animals infected and transformed by a sentient space virus. Think Space Amoeba.
  - Examples: Owls - Cornish Owlman, Whales - Ningen, Wolf - Beast of Gévaudan.
  - Virus also makes them wild and aggressive - dubbed the Chaos Factor.
  - Actively attack humans and other wild creatures, causing major problems.
  - Spring-Heeled Jack was first recorded human infected with the virus
- Enter our main character!
  - Sort of private investigator crossed with a Ghostbuster or demon-hunter?
  - Takes commissions by hunting down cryptids wherever they appear.
  - Sometimes kills them, sometimes hits the "Vital Vein" that contains the virus, returning them to the original animal.
  - Also helps to cover up incidents of Cryptid attack.
  - Male or female? I have no clue. Probably traditional surly vampire-hunter type or broody, mysterious figure.

Character: Samuel Baker, AKA Nicodemus
- Basically Bizzaro Ash. He's a man who is expected to be a hero, but doesn't really want to.
  - Saved village from drunk orks, and suddenly that makes him the Destined Hero due to tropes.
  - He's expected to save everyone from a Great Evil, and thus
- His home world runs on Shonen Anime rules, and thus everyone around him conforms to those tropes.
  - This has lead him to deduce he is the only sane man.
  - Occasionally takes part in Shonen stuff, but always seems resentful about doing so.
- Lots of pressure on him to live up to expectations. Also, gets flagged down by random yahoos to do odd-jobs and everyone else around him is a massive retard (in his opinion).
  - This has resulted in suicidal feelings he struggles to keep bottled up.
- Wields a technological sword known as the Grandius.
  - The designers came up with the name first, then designed it second.
  - It shoots lasers. Nuff said.

World: Final Fantasy VIII meets InFamous
- Futuristic Magitech world still steeped in old traditions
  - This more than accounts for the Destined Hero thing.
- Humans all have superpowers, and are grouped into classes.
  - S: Amalgam (controls all powers). Only one known S Class in history, very rare.
  - A: Really OP powers: Dreams, Light, Shadows, Memories etc.
  - B: Standard Fire Wind Water stuff.
  - C: More specific/situational stuff, like Lava, Stone, Plants
  - D: Really weird and indie stuff: Lasers, Helium, Clouds, Concrete, Neon
  - E: No Superpowers except for heightened resilience, athleticism and strength.
- Our main character, at first glance, is a Class E. But is he...?
