  3. Your above torrent was reported and has been deleted.
  4.
  5. Reason: 2.3.16. Properly tag your music files. Certain meta tags (e.g., ID3, Vorbis) are required on all music uploads. Make sure to use the appropriate tag format for your files (e.g., no ID3 tags for FLAC - see 2.2.10.8). ID3v2 tags for files are highly recommended over ID3v1. ID3 are recommended for AC3 torrents but are not mandatory because the format does not natively support file metadata tagging (for AC3, the file names become the vehicle for correctly labeling media files). Torrents uploaded with both good ID3v1 tags and blank ID3v2 tags (a dual set of tags) are trumpable by torrents with either just good ID3v1 tags or good ID3v2 tags (a single set of tags). If you upload an album missing one or more of the required tags, then another user may add the tags, re-upload, and report your torrent for deletion.
  6. Your torrent was reported because it was trumped by another torrent with improved metadata tags.
  7.
  8. Log Message: deleted torrent for the reason: Tag Trump. ( torrents.php?torrentid=1549513 )

  14. A while ago i had a talk with Morphine and Zeitgeist about exactly this problem in irc. Morphine said that proper scene uploads must not be trumped just because of id3 tags, because that is manipulating the original scene upload.
  15. Please talk with Morphine about this before you keep handling these kind of torrents incorrectly again, thx.

  17. //add: or at least have a staff discussion about this and find a common line how this should be handled and put it in the rules. Because every moderator handling handling cases differently is not how it should be on a well established tracker with a professional staff team. And this is not a criticism, its a information.

  22. ID3 tags are not allowed in FLAC files according to rule 2.2.10.8. Only Vorbis tags are allowed. I have checked with other staff including the ones you have named this is normal operating procedure.
  23.
  24. ID3 tags are only allowed on MP3 scene releases. FLAC rips with ID3 tags are trumpable.
  25.
  26. ↑_ 2.2.10.8. FLAC rips that contain ID3 tags or other non-compliant tags for FLAC may be trumped by rips with identical scores that have the faulty tags removed and replaced with the standard for each format. Enabling ID3 tags in EAC when ripping to FLAC may prevent some players from playing the files because of the inclusion of ID3 headers. If you wish to trump a FLAC rip that was ripped with ID3 tags enabled, upload the corrected torrent with the proper Vorbis comments and report the old torrent. Add information about your tag clean-up in the "Release description", or your torrent may be deleted as a dupe. Do not edit the log and change the ID3 tag setting to "No". Note: A simple way of getting rid of the ID3 header is to decompress the files to WAV, then compressing the files to FLAC, and adding the proper Vorbis comments.
  27.
  28. I'd suggest improving your tone when asking for a correction or torrent report discussion.

  33. Im trying to keep this discussion as professional as possible, if you feel like this is not the case im sorry.
  34. The reason i brought this up in the first place was because exactly the same situation happened a while back and when i discussed this with the mentioned staff members it was exactly the opposite.
  35.
  36. To Begin with, you are only quoting the existing rule sections, and ofc those apply to FLAC uploads, but its not directly stated that scene releases of certain scene groups who keep ID3 tags on FLACs are banned / that those scene groups are banned from being uploaded or that manipulating of scene releases is allowed.
  37.
  38. Because this is exactly what happened if i understand this correctly, a scene group uploaded a FLAC torrent which is non conform with red standarts, understandable would be if those torrents wouldnt be allowed on red then.
  39. But taking a scene release and manipulating it (even for the better) and then uploading it as non-scene? If i recall correctly, that is definetly against the rules?
  40.
  41. And to make it clear, im not trying to provoke anything here, my reason for writing is the same as last time this happened, for clarification about this and a clear line for future uploads, which i thought i had gotten the last time. (if you want i can send you the irc log of the last time i discussed this with staff members, where it was clearly stated as i described?)

  48. Hi Hawkaru,
  49.
  50. Scene releases must conform to site standards according to rule 1.3.6:
  51. ↑_ 1.3.6. Scene releases in each torrent category must conform to the rules specified for their respective sections. For example, music scene releases must adhere to the music quality and formatting rules no matter how the original files were released. If the scene archives were password protected, you cannot upload them to this site unmodified. Exceptions: You may upload scene releases that originally do not fit in the rules if you can make the necessary changes within the rules. However, these modified uploads must not be labeled as scene.
  52.
  53. Rule 2.3.16.1 forbids ID3 tags on all FLAC files:
  54. ↑_ 2.3.16.1.Certain meta tags (e.g., ID3, Vorbis) are required on all music uploads. Make sure to use the proper format tags for your files (e.g., no ID3 tags for FLAC — see 2.2.10.8). ID3v2 tags for files are highly recommended over ID3v1.
  55.
  56. It's fine if the FLAC scene release has proper Vorbis tags, but if it includes ID3 tags in the torrent, then the uploader needs to remove the ID3 tags before uploading.

  61. Thx for the reply, so can i take this statement as correct from you?:
  62.
  63. "Altering scene releases and uploading them as non-scene release is allowed as long as you make them better/clean them up according to RedActed standarts"
