  1. Color oft unseen would explode forth through the rift. Flying through the air and forming physical clumps that'd gravitate towards one another.
  2.
  3. Each would ripple with eldritch energy before moving to join the next.
  4.
  5. In time they'd form shapes that were hard to comprehend. Infinite staircases, improbable cubes that'd collapse in on itself. All matter of alien forms.
  6.
  7.
  8. The worst, however, would come. As it gained a spark of life. Drawing deep from this worlds Spirit realm, and the vast amounts of mana within. A being would be born in a chaotic frenzy.
  9.
  10.
  11. It'd float before the three.
  12.
  13. Taiga grumbles! Musters himself up!
  14.
  15. "Marceline. Let this serve as a lesson." He glances back to the fae, glaring at her! "Whatever this thing is, we drug it out from it's natural habitat. Now we have to handle it. This is what your Riftmancy has gotten yourself." Taiga points! "Now I have to... put down this... rotund... thing." Taiga, in all his years, still didn't have the proper words to describe this thing.
  16.
  17. He marches off after it, starting to float up into the air. He figured it wouldn't be strong enough to withstand one blow of his sword! So, without much further ado, he draws his blade! He sincerely regretted striking down a creature so unique and... strangely beautiful. But he raises his blade to the air!
  18.
  19. "Forgive me."
  20.
  21. With a burst of energy, he swings down on the thing from... uh. What he could only assume to be its back, considering that it was opposite the direction it floated in.
  22. (Taiga Rowan)
  23.
  24. ----------Taiga gets his ass kicked. (2-0'd 1v1ing the cuboid bastard)--------------
  25.
  26. Marceline squinted at the aftermath of the battle, floating over and reaching for her staff. "Lesson?" she echoed, her grip hardening. There was malice in her tone, as if the way this situation was being handled had her very annoyed. If she had her way, this Nethradin would have floated away and they would have never seen it again.
  27.
  28. "Is the lesson I'm supposed to learn, is that I have to save your ass if you decide to not mind your own business and kill something for no reason?" she asked. And, that's exactly what she was going to do, despite her distaste for the situation. Thunderclouds billowed overhead.
  29.
  30. A blinding purple flash was seen, followed by the deafening crack of thunder. She had been hit head on by lightning of her own design. When the light cleared, Marceline had enveloped herself in a shroud of incredibly hot purple flames. Sparks and embers dripped from her form, reflecting her anger.
  31.
  32. "Because it looks to me, like you're the one being taught a lesson here!" she exclaimed, preparing to begrudgingly face off against the Nethradin.
  33. (Marceline)
  34.
  35. Taiga was convinced he could face a foe such as this on his lonesome. He was pitifully prideful in that sense, so confident in his newfound art of Wayfinding and swordplay that he could match... whatever this is. So accustom to hunting beasts and Magi, the methods by which this creature attacked were completely alien to him. The magic it used completely disconnected from one another, the shifting shapes and fractal patterns blinding to his eyes.
  36.
  37. It kicked his ass. No two ways about it. His normal approach to swordsmanship wasn't going to cut it, not here, not versus this thing. He had to change something. As he's beaten back down to the dirt, skidding across his back and landing amongst his allies, he's obviously pissed at the poor showing.
  38.
  39. "I--" He grumbles! "Grraah! It's! No! Good!" Taiga huffs, spitting back at Marceline! "You can't just open portals to wheresoever you FUCKING please and expect sunshine and rainbows to crawl out the other side!" He peels himself up off the floor, stumbling back to his feet.
  40.
  41. "But fine. I've been meaning to show you this, Marceline." A hand reaches out, a portal starting to flicker to life of his own make! Green and blue mana alighting at the tips of his fingers! "You can just try and keep up with this." He readies himself for the second battle! Already wounded and winded, but not at all willing to step down.
  42. (Taiga Rowan)
  43.
  44. --- 2-1 Against this cuboid bastard ---
  45.
  46. Taiga gives it all he's got, now that the stakes are made clear. Despite what Marceline had said, this thing was clearly identified as a threat on all levels for Taiga, a weird... Nethradin??? That could change the properties, down to the state of matter, of anything it touched? Surely he couldn't let something like that let loose onto Agartha.
  47.
  48. Normal swordplay wasn't going to be enough to defeat this beast. He had to try harder to expose it's weak points. To try and exploit its weird, constantly changing shape somehow. Using spatial magic, the same art that had brought it into this world, Taiga was going to take it out. Of course, the difference between Wayfinding and Rift were night and day. The complicated formula Taiga had to memorize and adjust on the fly were racing through his head.
  49.
  50. A portal was forged, Taiga diving through it just in time to avoid one of the beasts attacks! Again and again, zapping all around the beast as a form of distraction, making himself incredibly hard to hit. A mixture of swordplay and Wayfinding, Taiga desperately trying to combine the arts, intermingling his slices with the portals. But his runeweaving was far too slow to keep up for long, and not too long into his game of playing chicken, he's swatted down.
  51.
  52. Moments before he could send himself blade-first through another portal, the Elemental slaps Taiga down with a tree-trunk forged out of fish. The scaly, barky whack sends him hurtling to the ground. He slaps against it.
  53.
  54. By the end of the fight, Taiga had scales for skin. Unconscious, face first in the dirt.
  55.
  56. What the HELL was happening to him?
  57. (Taiga Rowan)
  58.
  59. -----Another weird beast shows up from the Rift! This time an abyssal creature using a strange, void-tainted cosmic magic!-----
  60.
  61. [Marceline takes a perm, every else gets a temp]
  62.
  63. A swelling energy eminates from "The Moon". The Abyssal beast shows a power not seen in anything else. A dream of strength that came from the deeps and infected entire realms.
  64.
  65. A sickness some could call the void.
  66.
  67. The dark power would wash over Ethan and Taiga, corrupting them for some time. Causing mutations to show up, but soon they'd wilt and die.
  68.
  69. While Marceline would be the one to be the most affected. The virus would take a hold of her. In an almost sadistic way bits and pieces of her would be rifted - he right arm would repositioned. Being newly grafted onto her back.
  70.
  71. Deep dark cuts would cover her body as well, other incisions that the virus made.
  72.
  73.
  74. But Marceline would have her revenge.
  75.
  76. Taiga fights with all the ferocity he has left to give. The techniques he had used earlier against the negative elemental were further refined, Taiga focusing on the speed of his portals more than anything else now. It would, undoubtedly, result in many - many wrong warps. Minor inaccuracies that showed he still had much to learn, coming in just a hair off target, his blade swooping down onto thin air. It was a fight against what was, by all means, an unfathomable foe!
  77.
  78. Zipping around the battlefield, Taiga relentlessly pursues his foe, dashing at it again and again with his inaccurate, pathetic display of melding Wayfinding and swordsmanship. The art he had so much pride in learning was falling apart! All because he was far too stubborn to ask anyone else for help. Refining such a craft on his own was hopeless, and that was made abundantly clear for everyone to see here.
  79.
  80. Taiga was, for the first time, a detriment rather than an aid in their fight against these beasts. All because he refused to fight normal. Pride weighs down on him, and he's shot down from the sky just as he was against the negative elemental!
  81.
  82. The evil wave washes over him, leaving him broken and defeated in the dirt!
  83.
  84. It was up to Marceline to finish this!
  85. (Taiga Rowan)
  86.
  87. Marceline floated towards the rift, aiming to use it to make her getaway. The destination was still her home in Dawn, and it should work now that there weren't any middlemen interfering.
  88.
  89. ".. Well, you two are going to have to do something about it." she advised them. Otherwise, it would just remain there and keep spilling out abominations. She descended into the tear, aiming to make her getaway.
  90.
  91. Little did she know, a stain had stuck itself to her shadow. Something that would accompany her on the way.
  92. (Marceline)
  93.
  94. Taiga would roll around on the dirt, eating shit for a moment longer. Finally, he manages to peel himself up off the dirt, stumbling over to Ethan and nearly bowling him over. Huffing, puffing, barely managing to stay upright. "Alright.... alright... fuck." Marceline would be free from Taiga's abuse for the time being!
  95.
  96. He glances over to the rift.
  97.
  98. "We... have to close this somehow."
  99. (Taiga Rowan)
  100.
  101. Ethan's right hand reached out towards the rift in its sickly form. His gaze narrowed upon it, trying to grasp exactly where it was as if that wasn't really easy at all. Cold sweats ran down his back as he spoke up, hopefully being heard by Taiga.
  102.
  103. "Just... open a portal through the rift. We'll need more mana, but the lifestream'll repair it."
  104. (Ethan Hawke)
  105.
  106. LOOC - Marceline: (i escape i think but i want to still see the rp's of them closing it)
  107.
  108. Taiga groans loudly, still barely on his feet.
  109.
  110. "...Give me some of your energy." Taiga requests, holding his hand out to Ethan. "I'm... all out of mana after this." It hurt, having to admit that he couldn't do something on his own. But... he knew damn well that his performance versus that beast wasn't the best. And if that rift had another one of those abominations spill out from it, they were both fucked.
  111.
  112. He focuses on keeping his body stabilized for the time being - silently praying his hand wasn't going to turn into a paw or something horrible like that in the middle of this.
  113.
  114. If Ethan would accept, he'd begin a two-way flow of mana between them, combining their efforts!
  115. (Taiga Rowan)
  116.
  117. A gloved left hand grabbed onto Taiga's right, mana circuits doubling up as they synchronized in damn near perfect harmony. Was it mere compatibility or were their souls somehow connected? Who knows. All that mattered was that Ethan's right hand rose up, casting forth magical circles by the half-dozen while he focused upon closing the rift for everyone's safety, their own coming first.
  118.
  119. "Let's do it, Taiga."
  120. (Ethan Hawke)
  121.
  122. Taiga musters up all the energy he has left, flowing it between the two of them to establish this link. With one of his main teachers of the art, surely he could muster up a good performance for them, right?
  123.
  124. Carefully, he begins to weave their combined mana, carefully marking the parameters of his circle around the rift in question. It was new to Taiga, using his Wayfinding in this way, but with Ethan's guiding hand surely he could accomplish such a feat. This was mostly relying on his expertise for guidance, and Taiga's mana.
  125.
  126. Soon enough, the rift would be surrounded by a portal of shimmering green and blue mana!
  127.
  128. "Alright... now what?"
  129. (Taiga Rowan)
  130.
  131. The Portal and what remains of the rift would clash. Chaotic energies and the lifestreams soothing glow would radiate in every direction.
  132.
  133.
  134. Within time, however, the Wayfinders portal would overtake the cracks, and seal it.
  135.
  136.
  137. Marceline's rift was stopped! And it was probably time to go home.
