  1. What is a Horror?: Horrors are a race of aliens from the planet Samhain that highly resemble and embody monster and Halloween archetypes, this is because Horrors actually visited Earth many centuries ago, influencing human culture. Despite how radically different the different subspecies of Horrors are (resembling zombies, ghosts, werewolves etc.) they are all genetically related. The planet of Samhain has an environment so toxic that life organic or otherwise can survive on it, except for the Horrors themselves. Gems slowly crack until they shatter upon entering the atmosphere, Metals rust and fall apart and you don’t even want to know what it does to humans! But Horrors call it home. Samhain has no sun, instead it has an anti-matter star which contributed to the Horror’s deadly weakness to sunlight, as they are adept to the nighttime. Despite their horrific, monstrous appearances, Horrors are a very friendly and peaceful race that co-exist peacefully with each other and love interacting with other races, such a shame most alien races are afraid of them though.

  3. The toxic environment of their planet, their frightful appearances and the fact that they’re nigh-immortal (as they can only be killed by sunlight or old age), has ensured their survival in a universe filled with galactic conqueror races. There are a total of nine species of Horror (technically ten).
  4.
  5. Species of Horrors:
  6.
  7. Revenants - These Zombie-like Horrors are slow in the head but physically powerful and durable but quite friendly nonetheless, even for Horror standards. Revenants have no natural heartbeat and very little brain activity, making them appear to be dead. Revenants come in all shapes and sizes but their sickly green skin, occasionally missing limbs and death-like stench is shared among all Revenants. Revenants are renown for their great physical strength and immunity to pain, making them terrifying foes if you get on their bad side (which you’d have to actively try to do). Revenants can live in any environment and are found all over Samhain due to this. Revenants are the resident contractors and construction workers of Samhain, due to their great strength and friendly attitudes, it’s believed that most of all buildings in Samhain, including the majority of the capital town, Hallow, were built by Revenants.
  8.
  9. Immorteps - The Immorteps are a race of Horrors that highly resemble Egyptian mummies (and what inspired humans to mummify their dead). It’s believed that Immorteps are the oldest race of Horror there is, thus the name. Immorteps are a regal race and they have a high opinion of themselves, nonetheless they get along with the other races and some even live in Hallow instead of their home, the Desolate Desert. Immorteps are jet black humanoids with bandage like tendrils growing all around their bodies like draping fur, they keep these tendrils wrapped tightly around their bodies, giving them their mummy-like appearance, they can control their tendrils at will and often use them to manipulate objects. Immorteps are known to dress themselves in regal attire such as headdresses, bands and jewelry.
  10.
  11. Nosferatus - Nosferatus are one of the most varied race of Horror, taking up a multitude of different appearances and behaviors that influenced the Earth’s idea of vampires and all the different cultural interpretations of such. One aspect shared among all Nosferatus is their thirst for blood, Nosferatus are vampiric in nature and their diets consists entirely of blood, which they get by feeding off of their Horror cousins, which isn’t much concern due to the nigh-immortality aspect of Horrorkind, modern Nosferatus however simply purchase blood and is one of their biggest exports, some even do services for blood in return. All Nosferatus also share the ability to fly and their method of flight varies between the different variations. Nosferatus are natural artists and are well articulated, having intuitive talent in things such as painting, acting, music etc.
  12.
  13. Ectogeists - Ectogeists are the ghost-like race of Horrorkind. They are floating apparitions with bodies consisting of a membranous protoplasm that takes up a multitude of different colorations and weighs absolutely nothing, which is thought to give them the ability of flight. These slimy specters are capable of controlling the density of their forms, allowing them to do things such as phase through walls and turn invisible when not under direct sunlight, their bodies are naturally capable of bioluminescence. These ethereal pranksters love to play tricks and generally fool around and play. They take up many different shapes and forms and due to the amorphous condition of their bodies, they can change their appearance by manually shifting around their bodies. Ectogiests have a happy go lucky attitude and their love of play makes them (ironically enough) the life of the party.
  14.
  15. Werebeasts - These humanoid beasts are possibly the most varied race of Horror, having a large variety of subspecies that is said to be in the hundreds. It is believed that Werebeasts were once the natural fauna of Samhain that were mutated into humanoid beings due to the toxic environment. There are Lycan Werebeasts (werewolves), Feline Werebeasts (werecats), Apeman Werebeasts (sasquatch), Insectoid Werebeasts (mothman) and many more. Although sapient like the other Horrors, Werebeasts exhibit animalistic qualities that varies between sub-species such as howling at the moon and a tendency to chase tails and bury bones between the Lycan Werebeasts.
  16.
  17. Frankenborgs - Frankenborgs are close relatives to Revenants and they share similar aspects such as an almost undead quality to their physiologies. Frankenborgs are the intellectual counterparts to Revenants, possessing great intellects with a forte for science. While Revenants have stationary color palettes, Frankenborgs have mismatched patches of colored skin all around their bodies ranging from green, blue, red, purple etc. and due to their misguided attempts at forwarding their kind, Frankenborgs have long ago outfitted their bodies with robotic prosthetics and machinery, possessing robotic limbs, random metal patches and all kinds of cyberpunk gizmos that they have fixed onto their bodies, although their practices seem mad at times (that is ALL the time) they are still quite technologically advanced and are responsible for near all of the modern technology of Samhain, including space travel. Their science seems impossible and wouldn’t make any sense to any other lifeform, Horror or otherwise which is an indicator to how advanced the Frankenborg mind is, regardless of how insane they may appear to be.
  18.
  19. Devils - Devils share many qualities among themselves such as red skin, horns, wings and forked tails among that however, Devils can look like just about anything you can imagine from human-like beings, to animals to even more surreal entities. Despite a reputation their human folklore counterparts have, Devils are harmless for the most part but they love to play tricks and pranks they may seem malevolent in nature. Devils love the heat and most live in sweltering hot sulfur caves called Hot Spots but some have been known to live in Hallow. Devils are the businessmen and women of Samhain and it’s believed that more then 50% of businesses on Samhain are owned by Devils. Some Devils also have the tendency of being scam artists, swindling others out of their belongings. All Devils also possess the ability to breath fire, due to a special organ that produces a liquid/gas similar to propane.
  20.
  21. Covenants - The inspiration for Witches and Warlocks of Earth folklore. The Covenants are ugly, green skinned, wart covered Horrors that possess impressive psychic abilities that allows them to perform a multitude of different abilities that they believe to be magic (despite what Frankenborgs try to tell them). Covenants are trained to specialize one of the thirteen types of “Magic” that they can perform which ranges from Potion making, fortune telling, familiar creation, transmutation etc. which they practice in special schools. Covenants also pride themselves in how gross they are and they have yearly Gross Out competitions to see who is the grossest, they have a similar event for their “Magic” as well.
  22.
  23. Boogedys - You know the big, furry, horned, Bug-eyed monsters that lived in your closet or under your bed when you were young? Those beastly boogeymen were none other then Boogedys. Boogedys are large furry mishmashes of monstrous features, armed with claws, horns, and reptilian tails. Boogedys are emotional vampires, they feed on emotions and each variety of Boogedy feeds off of a different emotion, and Boogedys become larger and stronger the more emotional energy they feed on. Despite their need to feed on emotions, Boogedys are harmless and most love to have fun, especially with children.
  24.
  25. Constructs - Due to things like mad science and magic being common place in Samhain, creating living, breathing life is like arts and crafts. Due to the toxic environment of Samhain making any non-Horror life inhabitable, save for a few plants (such as pumpkins and squashes) The Horrors substitute things like pets and cattle with living constructs made of different materials and brought to life with either science or magic, because of this Frankenborgs and Covenants are responsible for most Constructs alive on Samhain today. Some “species” of Constructs include Pumpkin People, humanoid entities made entirely of pumpkins and squashes made to be servants to those who created (or in some cases purchased) them. And Sugar Friends, beings made of living, surgery substances that can regenerate that are used as food sources. There are so many different kinds of Constructs that they can have there own page detailing them and their purposes.
